this looks great, but could you create a makefile or something for linux please?
rulez added on the 2012-03-08 03:52:30 by pera pera
@pera It runs in wine, but I agree it would be nice to have it working natively
added on the 2012-03-08 05:25:15 by xpansive xpansive
oh... I saw the screenshot on google code and I thought it was compiled also for linux

releasing demotools is always thumbworthy!

Qt, so I guess a Linux port is possible.
@pera : Use QtCreator and try to open the .pro file (kind of project file for Qt)
rulez added on the 2012-03-08 09:48:19 by LittleWhite LittleWhite
prea: Use qmake to create a Makefile

Thumbs up for releasing the source. I don't get anything rendered here though when using the binary and the example file and it has a couple of obvious UI bugs...
rulez added on the 2012-03-08 10:50:38 by raer raer
Awesome.
rulez added on the 2012-03-08 11:12:11 by ham ham
@pera : yes, use qmake or qt creator and open the .pro file for making a linux binary !
If you get anything rendered with the example file, just try to click on the wheel and mouve your mouse (up or down ..) for move the camera (you are on the ground) !
added on the 2012-03-08 11:49:25 by Anat Anat
@pera : The tool does compile under linux. You'll need qt creator and fmod.
@raer : there are a couple of bugs indeed... We're going to put up a wiki page on the google code website about those and compilation issues before the end of the week. :)

can I ask: what did you use for the CSS? do you know of any Qt CSS resources out there? (for changing the visuals of the widgets).
added on the 2012-03-08 13:13:07 by Navis Navis
@navis : I made it from scratch, with the Qt doc ( http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/stylesheet-reference.html ) as only reference... I never found Qt-CSS galleries unfortunately. You can use ours as a basis if you want to (in the res/css folder from the googlecode svn, see 1st post)

Thanks,
it would be nice if one could mix
QApplication::setStyle("cleanlooks");

and custom CSS without breaking everything (even if you just change the default color of widgets it breaks).

yup, in fact, applying a single rule on a widget discards any default css on it and all classes inheriting from it. You could use something like :
QWidget#myAwesomeWidgetName { ... } to only affect one widget, but even then, it wouldn't keep any part of the default CSS... Which, indeed, is a shame (and forced me to redo half everything in CSS :D)

I wonder how others do it, I've seen some very good Qt CSS, but all my attempts look pathetic...

Looks great, but doesn't work for me :(

Thsis is pretty cool, but I get a black screen where the rendering should be. Everything else about the program seems to work okay...

Unluckily, it doesn't launch on PC under windows 7. :(
It seems to work well on linux with WINE execpt that I only get random artifacts in the preview window.
Anyway, thanks to release such a great (I guess) tool!
