what, no crackloader? :)

the music "sync" is a little off (in visualboy advance, at least), but yeah, trixter will be delighted.

Well, I'm incredibly flattered :-) They greet "8088 groups" -- are there any? I'm working on an 8088 demo in my spare time, already have some cool effects coded. I'd love to join an 8088 group.

It would be really great to see a demoscene on oldschool PCs. I always wondered why there aren't much people interested in that as there are in C64, CPC, Spectrum and other 8bits. I'd really love to watch your next demo Trixter, and if there wasn't the fucking army, maybe I'd be inspired right now to revive back an old PC and try coding something :P

Apparently the music sync is a bit off in some emulators, but works correctly on the actual device. Anyway, nice work!

So the orig was just a vdieo player? Well, a GBA port, that's not much of a challenge. A GBC port would have been a challenge.
Don't get this thumb wrong, I don't have anything against this demo, it's just that this isn't technically impressive. As I said above, a GBC port be.

nitro2k01: hah, screw you. GBC IS FOR FUCKING COLOR LAMERS.

You'll get gb-port in some megacybersuber low res!

GBC port wouldn't really be possible due to lack of resolution and the ability to play digitized sound...

Thumbs up for a great "port"

"I always wondered why there aren't much people interested in that as there are in C64, CPC, Spectrum and other 8bits." My theory on that is because the PC is *still around* (ie. it never "died"). From a coding standpoint, it was always changing (286 added fast MULs, 386 added 32-bit regs and operations, etc.) so there isn't the "best possible code" feeling you get with something like C64 where every single instruction timing and size is known.

Also, CPC, Spectrum, etc. have *some* sort of sprite hardware so there is more fun to be had manipulating the graphics. Still, I've already written full-screen 60Hz copper effects on CGA... :-)
