Asskicking music and visuals! How the hell can you make this in only 2 weeks? We spent like 1 year!
Music is not my cup of tea, but otherwise very good looking and polished AGA demo. One of my favorite.

Well Unique has made this 1.5x1 HAM thing their own, must have looked wonderful on the big screen in 16x9. Quite a show and unbelievable if you put this together in 2 weeks. Bit less coherent compared to last years effort but technically it feels like an improvement. The layered tunnel thingie looked amazing.
For me the best in compo. Outstanding visuals and design with a hard hitting soundtrack, this simply rules.

I had worked on improving it for a while longer of course. I didn't add much in terms of features in the last 2 weeks.
The plan is to release a final soon with fixes and tweaks.
And someone keeps adding a yt link which is many seconds off sync. Hopefully there will be a decent video too.

I really like this style, very suited to the partyplace! -- oh and BTW, seems you are one of the few trying to innovate and push with good light effects while keeping high framerate. A must see!

Quite a long and polished demo which I really enjoyed during the compo. Nice visuals and I really liked the music which fits perfectly. Also nice talking to you at the party place. :)

Compo favourite. Loved how it kinda feels like a late-90s AGA demo without feeling dated.

I think the leakage you're referring to is the HAM fringing, an effect of the demo running in HAM8 (enabling the 15bpp colour depth).
yup, i assume that it's because of HAM8, but anyway it made visuals look less grainy and lowres :)

dnlb, what's your setup? I've done some changes in the WIP final and the water scene at least is faster but I get an average of about 17fps for the whole demo on A1200 BPPC 060 50Mhz.
dodke: are you using instructions that were removed for the 060 and have to be emulated by any chance? would explain the speed problems on machines without oxypatcher (or similar patches) at least.
The demo shouldn't use any FPU instructions at all or if it does only in some random places in C which should be compiled for 68060 and not affect realtime rendering anyway.

Truly adorable demo with a great track! Happily nodded along during the compo and watched it immediately after the party on my 1260 at home. How you have been able to pull this off in 2 weeks is beyond me. Amazing! :)
It was very exciting at the party.
Update: I upgraded my 680xx libs and setpatch from Aminet, much smoother and more enjoyable now. Odd that this was the only demo suffering so badly, I guess no one else is using that instruction ;)

I've always loved these hardcore HAM visuals and especially this pumping soundtrack!
I'm more of a classic demo guy (think scrollers etc.), but I really enjoyed this. Its runs beatiful on a Vampire :)

Some cool details in here like how the flares shrink down when (partially) obscured by objects. Not sure if it is scripted in the 3d scene or if the engine does it as a feature?
loady: the flares in the engine are drawn as a group of marker pixels during rendering and in post it checks how many of the pixels are still visible to determine the size of the lens flare to be drawn on top.
