This demo is totally awesome in every ways: the code, the gfx, the music! Especially the 3d-Godzilla in the rain blew my mind completely!! :)

Former cranky Hexel watcher stunned: This runs super duper great on my 1260. All hats off, again. I'm tempted to say this deserved a higher place in the compo.
Exits on B1260 64MB with "error in incab_tab 285, in incab" after the fov hexagons, if that means something to you guys?

Ephidrena demos keeps getting more and more interesting each year. Every effect has something interesting to learn. Kudos to all the team and special thanks to Frequent for taking the time to talk a bit about the prod.

@photon: i dont recognize those labels exactly, but those hexagons reserve big blocks of chip memory and sometimes fail these allocations. Particularly if run from workbench. Did you run from CLI? Anyway my mail is loaderror åt sina.com if you have some more details.
Too much recycled stuff from Hexel (or at least that's sure what it looks like) with less consistent design. Didn't really hit the right notes with me.

The most technically impressive (only second to Brutalism by Capsule) AGA stuff released in this year compo. The soundtrack is powerful and graphics are also great.
The design of some of the effects almost reach perfection. I really love that monster head in the rain!
Moreover, you proved again that dark backgrounds could look awesome if all is made properly, spiced with a bit of copper.

First demo I ran when unpacking my Amiga at home. Gozilla is the winner effect, of course! But you also got the nicest LUTs and the catchies soundtrack of the whole party. We've got our Ephidrena back!

Yikes, this would have been more than enough to take over any other party—I was sure this would be the last entry in the compo. But despite being technically impressive and having some jaw-droppingly amazing scenes, in retrospect it's not hard to see why it didn't win. Hope to see you take revenge though!

A serious ass kicker!
lots of great parts, and nice color scheme. Music is good; nice big-beat vibes, though the snare is a bit too snappy/clean and the arrangement gets a bit messy in the bumpmapping part. Overall tho, really nice stuff!

Quite proud of the color cycling effects in this demo!
The color cycling makes use of per-line copper changes so that some of the LUTs have a few thousand color indices to cycle through as opposed to just 256 which would be standard color cycling. All the LUTs except the face are implemented using this technique.
To create the LUTs a vector-quantizer was made. It reduces a full quality LUT to a reduced number of entries LUT much in the same fashion as when reducing an image from 24-bit to 256 colors. A lot of code tuning done to eliminate pesky horizontal discontinuity artefacts from the reduction.
This was a complicated effect (for me) that in the end doesn't look that good compared to just using a standard chunky 256-color lut effect, however it allows true color hires LUTs as can be seen in some of the scenes. I believe it can be improved further in the future
