I'm glad to see EPH back :) Great prod!!

Aight, maybe most interesting about this prod is the player which uses 8-bit + variable Amiga channel volume to better adapt to an original 16-bit signal. It reduces noise considerably compared to normal 8-bit and doesn't lose volume like the popular 14-bit audio mode. This was an idea by Cheetah/Ephidrena who is supposed to do graphics!!

See the nfo for some tech rant.

nice ambience!

I think this captures the still grim weather up in Norge -- as Frequent vividly described waiting in the queue at the party. Funny thing, as I was rewatching the compo today on Revision's Twitch channel a sleet storm set in right when this demo started ;D

I was really hyped when someone told me on friday, that Ephidrena is going to release an 060 demo which is also utilizing some custom chipset features. My expectations were higher, than what i've got. Nevertheless this demo is okay. Kinda slow paced a bit too much and repetitive. Hope to see more next year!

@cego probably the sound being more than 8 bit without volume loss is the special chipset feature. Not what you see!

@loaderror: Any chances that you publish your awesome music player? It could be used in more Amiga demos.
added on the 2017-04-19 18:09:45 by ham ham
@ham yes I want to publish it as open source after next release or so :) . It's not perfect yet as it may produce clicking noises for as yet unknown reasons. If you want to use it or help debug the final glitch I'll send it to you. Loaderror attrtrrr sina.coooooooooofuckingcoooom

Final is out. Hope it works for most of you.
- Fixed scroller bug.
- Copper gradients on noise and table parts.
- New font in scrollers and credits part.
- Some better plasma movement.
- Particle source changed a bit.

Btw the link is not broken even if it says so (at least it says so in my Pouet).

Some nice changes in the final version that add considerably to the overall enjoyment. Music is not my cup of tea though. Looking forward to what's next... hopefully with an increase in graphics :)

nice all around, noisy and classy

This feels like Neonsky-- to me. I understand that it is a smaller and more experimental production which is totally fine. We actually might have to try out that route again, too. But somehow the ends don't tie together in here. I like the simple but shiny visual style, but the sound is just too much uninteresting noise for me. Piggie for the moment.

what noname said + the copper bars bottom is faultly on my A1260 ( maybe bug over line 256 ) in both versions ( party and final ).

Really nice but still I think scanline based effects would be more interesting on OCS. A 500 demo one day?)
I also get that visual error in the copper bar parts. Like ~8 scanlines are wrong around line ~$ff. Or is it that I started the demo from wb?

I THINK that routine has a problem since it used to have system user copperlists that start at coordinate 0 for the top line in neonsky (instead of 2c). 0 could be in the middle of the screen depending on system screen position. The system code was all removed in negativ prosess. But I forgot the one line which queries y-offset. now it returns a nice value if your system screen starts at 2c or a bogus one if it doesn't. I think my wb screen starts at 2c so that's why I didn't notice?

As for a500 demo. Maybe after I've tried all these traditional effects on a1200 first. It would be a nice excercise to make the demo system leaner to do a standard 1200 demo too.
