really awesome! great improvement in all departments =)
Btw. I first thought "Dark Gods" was an anagram of Gaspode. Of course it's not, but then i came to realize that an anagram of Gaspode would be "Ape Gods" :D Just saying ;)

like it a lot! amazing work for one-man-band, even with tooll used.
I'm torn... I really love bombastic, orchestral soundtracks and wish more demos would be made using this kind of music. But in this demo the visuals don't live up to the feeling of epicness the music conveys. Most scenes look too simple and confined and don't really fit the music IMHO.
The sync was very nice though! Weak thumb up overall.

Congratulations on the soundtrack, it's kinda perfect, very epic without feeling too cheesy or too pretentious.
And what Kylearan said also (thanks for putting words on it :p).
Good prod overall

this demo knows what it wants to be and executes it almost flawless.
gaspode carrying his style over to the realtime world! :)

I enjoyed this alot while watching on stream. Really good job!
Both simple and epic. A great marriage of music and visuals. For those who love aesthetics of simplicity this demo will connect in very special ways!
exactly what kylearan said... bombastic music yet boring, generic visuals that could've been a run of the mill 8k. piggie.
Love the visual style and the symbiosis between it and the music! Digital art in its purest form!
HellMood: haha, ApeGods :D

As others are saying and I remember from the big screen - the music was a bit more epic than visuals. Although I kind of have different view on it - it's not because visuals are bad, it's rather because the music was so good ;)
I found both intriguing at least. Thumb up for sure.

Exactly what Maali said.
What stingray said and that
I really liked the consistent design and atmosphere in this, the music was also refreshingly different from the average demotune. No stellar effects here but definitely enough for a thumb up.
Not bad, but too longwinded for my taste, and an odd mix of super-sharp geometry in some places (too sharp, felt out of place) and nicely blurred, deep scenes in others. The music overdelivered and the graphics underdelivered, so there was a disconnect there (for me at least). But, I still enjoyed it. :)
well that was meh.
really hate when people use massive sounding samples/libraries/sounds to do shitty music and other cheer how great it was.
makes me respect people just that little bit less once again..

nice visuals, great music!
not sure if the polished+nice visuals fit 100% to the also nice soundtrack but it is really well put together. thinking twice some ambient/less epic soundtrack would have been well ... nothing special. so clear thumbs up for what it is. keep up the good work, Gaspode! :)
very good ... extra thumb for the music
@1in10: Thanks for your constructive criticism. From now on I will only write minimalistic music with just one sound per minute.
I am loving it. The sync works amazingly well!
thumb up for music
@gaspode:
saying something is shitty isn't constructive criticism.
its me being a dick instead of saying i didn't like it.
sounds interesting. will be waiting to see how that goes.

I know. ;)
The music was okay, the visuals were a bit demotool-fuckaround-ish, but they never managed to meet anywhere, and the words didn't give it meaning either.
Also the framerate was super rhapsodic, at points it went down to 5fps in 720, other times it was full 60 without seeing a lot of change in visual complexity. In 1080p it simply bailed after loading with a VPU recovery.
Nice music, a bit slow but I appreciated the simple aesthetic and as Kylearan said, very nice sync. +1 for tooll. :D
I'm still waiting for the story to make sense.
Started out promising, but never delivered on said promise. Not at all bad, but just not exciting either.
I liked the music, but I think I'll echo others in saying that while there's minor sync to it the visuals don't always seem to fit. Like a scene (sort of) change and no dramatic flair or what seems like a small build up and we just continue right on.
However, I did like the scene with the particle ring and the scene[s] very near the end. The bits with changing 2D geometry as materials was also a little intriguing. So thumbs for the music, some nice bits, and for keeping it up. :)

Kind of reminds me of the PS2 boot screen. :P
I love it!
My favourite scenes: Final, LIFE and MIND.
And I think the music is perfectly fitting.

what kusma said - but with a thumb up for the music.
The beginning and synchronization therein was perfect, but I was honestly kind of disappointed at how the demo continued from there. Rest of the scenes were kinda random and leaving the text completely out would not have changed a thing.
Still thumbing up for the start and the music.

I quite liked the visuals, not knock out of the park stuff but the sync was really good. Great music too. What pleases me most is there are systems like tooll that enable people to make stuff who might otherwise be put off by the ridiculous learning curve graphics programming. I should get that shizzle installed.
Nice
Decent. I like its tune more than its visual.
I really like this. Awesome atmosphere, the music and sync works great with the changing symbols and colors.
Pretentious meh
nice on the bigscreen.
There is a lot to learn and inspiration to get from this nice self contained prod. It's not going wild on the effects, but what it does, it does right, with that very recognizable Gaspode style.
I have one criticism to make though: the direction is flawless up until the title screen, but then it alternates scenes done equally well with scenes that feel a lot less inspired. The beginning of the "time" part for example, with the spike balls, is nowhere near on par with some of the other scenes. Moreover, I don't see a relation between the words and the visuals.
On performance side, this works fine for most of the demo, but the spike balls scene is noticeably sluggish, and the "life" part falls to single digit fps on my machine, which completely breaks immersion. Out of curiosity I had a quick look with RenderDoc, and apparently the ribbons are the biggest offender, due to having way too much polygons (over 1.4 million vertices, really? :D). What makes the spike balls scene heavy seems to be the high number of drawcalls in the color passes #2 and #10. I hope that can be fixed in a final.
Greetings to you too, keep it up the good work. :)

There is a »Gaspode style«?! :)
Nice design and visuals, not a huge fan of the music, but great overall.
not enough punch for me.
Works fine for me visually. Crashed my gfx card driver but whatever.....
Ugh. I saw the spikeball and it scaling out and in all crazy with the heroic music, but then it turned into a nice shimmering radial thing and I thought "OK that's cool," but then "TIME" appeared, then "LIFE." Great I'm having what every scene represents literally spelled out to me. No, thanks.
This demo is so grandiose, and not in a playful or self-aware way. I really don't like it.

Poor perfromance. Lack of design. No graphics. Music is the best part of this demo.
Spot on sync. I like it.
I really love the soundtrack and the sync to it. Its eeepic.
nice mood. it delivers
