Starts slowly and fairly unremarkable, but gets better and ends on a high note.

so awesome <3
Probably the best first-prod ever. It's great to see if somebody introduces a whole bunch of new ideas to the scene. And I loooove the abstract kaleidoscope-scene. Well deserved 1st place.
So what's the name of your demo-group? I want to see more!

wow! Respekt!
WOw! I think I need to watch this again 2-3 times to understand some of the effects. Original ideas by newcomers!
Great ideas and very original effects!
great effects with great ideas.
good music.
the 3D feels too cheap compared to the effect, and the direction/design/concept is a bit wtf.
weak thumb overall.
Of course this is really great for a first demo!

That was some journey.
This is wonderful. There's so many ideas and so much very well made stuff. Miyazaki would be proud :)
LOTS of cool ideas. Welcome to the scene!
Both versions crash for me during precalc. win7 64-bit, GTX 675M.
Thumbs up for the great effects and nice character animation.
Should these guys be allowed to publish demos without being in a demogroup?
Great effects, enough material for a few demos, but the music and direction really needs something.
What revival said. Crashes during precalc.
Demozoo gallery. Works surprisingly well on my old 64bit Win7 ATI/AMD machine. Only a couple of minor shader bugs.
well this came in as a nice surprise indeed!
It certainly looks like most of their inspiration doesnt come from other demos (and thats a good thing), who are these guys?

Beautiful!
This is my favourite demo in the compo. Interesting from the beginning to the end.
Awesome direction.

Wasn't too convinced at the beginning. Now very, very convinced. That's a great demo, if it's a first prod it's mind blowing.
Iirc Mikael Fyrek released a number of tracks on the old Fairlight Music netlabel way back when. The demo is kindof random, but among the randomness are some very original effects, music is nice too ofcourse, very enjoyable :)
ok this it is maybe me being ignorant... what what is so outstanding about this one ?
This started as meh, but then there were the ball, the feedback effect and the marching cubes scenes that were all deliciously hypnotic.
The whole is uneven and feels disconnected, but some of the individual parts are just too good not to thumb up.
What's your group name already? I want to see more!

what a smooth journey. many great ideas, good looking, nice sound and good overall feeling. well done!
Lots of nice ideas here, really enjoyable to watch. Good but somehow a bit too repetitive music too.
Fascinating random collection of very good looking scenes, some downright baffling ones and pure eyecancer. It just might be one final version / director's cut away from actually being a good demo, so I'm saving my thumb for that.
I was about to thumb this down because of the lighting, general uneventfulness and the soudntrack. The composition of some scenes and the directon didn't save it, but since this is your first demo you'll get a counter motivaional thumb up so it results in a piggie leaning towards a thumb up.
Looking forward to a groupnames and more prods!

This is one of the most interesting demos i've seen in a looooong time. Really enjoyed it! Yes is feels a bit unconnected and unpolished here and there, but WHAT a journey!
mixed feelings with this. ok, first demo and plenty of nice effects and 3D in there. but it's such a hotchpotch of things. so well, yeah, motivational thumb then! looking forward to some future demos :)
so much new stuff i've never seen before or at least not so well executed.
and to top it all, these wonderful visuals run perfectly smooth on a 5 year old PC in 2560x1440. :)
congratulations to a well deserved 1st place !

Agree with Pixtur: this has to be the best first-prod ever. So many nice touches throughout, but perhaps a little strange pacing. That said: SOLID!
Not even nearly the best track from Fyrek (who of course is Some1 (a lot of groups) from the old days) but still good. Deserved win, some fantastic stuff in it.
Kaleidoscope awesomeness! Loved the dragonspirit's word.
Beautiful!
Really nice production. Kaleidoscope effects are awesome. Indeed the winner.
Weird, it feels like a late 90s, beginning of 00s demo, added with some newgen effects. From the midpart to end the demo grabs me, so thumb up.
Ultranice start!! Keep on!
so many great and innovative ideas! thanks for that!
O_o--b
Wow....sometimes the visuals seem to be a little to hectic for the music, but still very great to watch
Some good parts, but the extremely boring startup just killed it for me :-/
And the music mehh.

What Zavie said.
Amazing efforts, great ideas - even though it's so not my cup of tea I'm really looking forward to see new productions from you guys!
what Zavie and cupe said!
Awesome. You gotta love the details in the scenes. The music unfortunatly is a little repetitive after a while.
nice!
the attention to detail that went into synchronisation of music and visuals that went into this production is truly exceptional. when i started watching i was doubtful regarding the style of music and rendering quality, but as soon as i began to perceive how perfectly the animation reflects rhythm and melody it was like watching a highly expressive dance performance. yup, there is more to syncing than flashing the screen on beats, and this demo shows many ways of how it can be done.
also, crediting it with long and complicated real names gives it an artsy feel. ;)

Tried really hard to make it run - loads up to ~90% of the circle and then stops. Win7x64, 16Gb RAM, 2x GTX-555 1Gb SLI.
wow, little masterpiece in the night.
Thank you.

hello, year 2001
Maybe it's because I was falling asleep while I watched this on the live stream, and for that it bypassed any kind of critical thinking and affected me directly, as things tend to do in that mood—but the experience of watching and listening to this demo was moving and wonderful. I felt almost that I was seeing into some other universe, exploring it, delighted by it: a place where all matter is intelligent and communicates through form and music. And if it does communicate, then what is the message? The spirits playfully flaunt their considerable power, but they also express a soothing kindness and benevolence: by this combination I felt oddly safe and protected, yet curious and thoughtful. I felt that I wanted to ask the dragon questions, and to sit with and learn from the Buddha, but I knew that they could never speak, at least not in words. When at last I saw the alien, I knew that this must not be my world, but his—some world of the future that makes sense only to him—and that someone like me could never stay.
(Am I on drugs? No, just carefully metacognitive, and paying close attention to the subtle effects that works of art have on my subconscious.)

I think I may have found a new current favorite demo, it's so cool! Need to watch this a few more times to spot all the cool effects in it.
And it runs superb on my fairly mediocre ATI / AMD machine, too \o/

yes, also what jco said about syncing.
interesting
What pixtur said.
For the cool things and the weird, I'm a fan.
This is awesome in so many ways!
Looking at this demo, what probably struck me the most was the thought that the coder doesn't even recognize what looks good and not even when it pops up in his face. It looks like more effort went into exploring the full parameter-space of the effects rather than sticking to those bits who looks good. All in all, I found this rather awful at times. However, there's enough cool stuff popping up every now and then to save it from a down-thumb.
I don't like it but it is a good presentation of some graphics routines and algorithms. I hope we see more from these guys...
I am speechless. It's been a long time since I last saw a demo where I have absolutely no idea what is or what might be comnig, and yet I know I will be pleasantly surprised. This feels like an ASD demo at heart, but without the grandeur, and the progression that alternates between the gentle minimalism and the parts with the graphics feels completely natural. And the scene with the dragon and the buddha statue... and then there are all the nice touches, and the lovely, lovely, last part.
This just mght be one of my favorite demos of all time.

Watched the youtube. Basically what Cosmo Cat said. What a journey. What an ending! Contratulations!
Also Preacher, that's not quite what speechless means. :)

very nice. especially for a first demo. clearly the coder already has some heavy background in computer graphics. looking forward to see other releases from them.
Best first-time prod I've ever witnessed. Amazing direction, great effects. Really slick but also _fresh_. The soundtrack wan't that remarkable but it didn't detract from the overall presentation. Great work! :D
This is a bit too professional for me!
The music bored the hell out of me!
I loved the "Extruded Hexagons"-Part!
You forgot to interpolate your values from the 3D-Texture, though! :p (yielding very visible artefacts this way! A complete raymarched approach would have had rendered this a lot nicer for sure!)
All in all i completely understand how this won, but there´s a lot of room for improvements! Especially effect-wise and music-wise aswell! ;)
But deserves nothing less than a thumb up ofcourse!
You can hire me btw, i will teach you then ;) I´m not cheap, though! :D

whouaou ! great moment i took watching it ! i love the melody (no more dubstep for me even drunk at revision 2013 :) ) and i love the direction of this SUPERB demo. of course for a first try it a f**good one ! except kitch style for me and it's isn't a bad point at most, i took a real pleasure to watch it. and the final animation of the egyptian thing is cool !! i just say : MORE MORE

Mus be coder porn… Mostly borning for me. Scenes feel disconnected, music tips it over the edge. Still a thumb up, cause it didnt suck either and it's a firsty.
definitely best in the compo!
Whoa. Wow.
So yeah, some of it is a bit disconnected, like teleporting to somewhere new, but that hasn't stopped other great demos before. :)
The kaleidoscope stuff was great, as well as the hexagon pixels, and the bit inside the room with the shiny floor that moved objects through space with holes in it. (Whatever you call that.)
If there was any music sync, it seemed kinda arbitrary though. So if you're going for that, I'd make it seem a little more intentional in the future. Slightly felt like a show to some music, as opposed to a show involving music.
However, plenty of fresh stuff and things well done. Plus ++ because I like Mikael Fyrek. :)

It keep crashing on my win7 rig (32 and 64bit versions) it will stay secret for me :(
Great firstie! Some really nice effects in here with enough space left for improving the design. Music is great, but doesn't fit to the effects and design. The visual style shouts out loud for badass goa trance music!
what a lovely thing, a demo with heart.
bravo <3
bravo <3
fantastic for a first time demo, and a well deserved Winner.
The amount of work in this is staggering.
It might not be using the latest tech, and it lacks a bit of design here and there, the music might be a bit repetitive and some effects left me completely cold, but...wow! There is a lot of lovely stuff in this. Especially love the effects starting from around four minutes in.
What Preacher said. That was just wonderful!

Nooooooo oh the horror (would still be better than XXXstep version, though :))
Really nice and fresh demo :)
Exciting and welcome!!, wishing to see more from this group!!! This was quite exciting with something new for the scene!! There has been nothing of late that has impressed like this! fantastic effects.
People that are being too critical need to take their hands off their cocks and start actually doing something productive! It takes huge efforts for productions to get released especially the amount of work that has gone into this production.
HUGE THUMBS UP!!

I loved the implicit surface shader, but a lot of parts were just 'meh'. And codercolors.
What Gargaj said!
awesome! and although the music itself is great, I agree with bobic that there are some parts where more energetic music would be even better.
wow, perfect !
what break and kusma said.
After some thinking & rewatcjing I would like to change my piggie in an thumb up because of the effort put into this. My old points still stand though :)
I enjoyed it. :)
Many Congratulations!!
Very enjoyable.
Very enjoyable.
Well, damn! That was really lovely. Sure, it's a bit disjointed and rough around the edges in places, but for me, that just adds to the appeal. It held my interest and kept throwing all sorts of cool, left-field craziness into the mix making it one to remember. The dragon and the end scene are now some of my favourite scenes ever. Would have loved to have seen it on the big screen, that must have been great! Would also absolutely love to read a 'making of' article at some point. Well done. Wow :)
Baffling beauty brutalized with utter horror. Boils down to a pig.
I also enjoyed watching it.
Hexagon extrusion part is fantastic!
One of the best demos i've seen last time...
Great ideas with pretty execution and AAA flow! That felt a bit psychedelic (that thing then that sub-thing then zoom on that thing) without the restlessness, congrats.
Incoherent and oscillating between great and 00s? ugly with boring music. Not my cup of tea really.
It's random but that makes it charming.
good one

LE W00T!!! Some1 from Some1 & Prime magic-chiptune-duo from Amiga era?!?!! ERMAHGERD! <3
Btw, this demo is really great! Tons of content, tons of new and refreshing ideas, cute scenes (omg, that "sky-buddha" with hexagonal voxel screen! and the dragon!!), I want MOAR! <3
This is still stuck in my head five days later.
I hope to see more from Eleven.
There are three things I would give him feedback on,
but not here, and in the grand scheme not that important.
This is a demo that means something, whatever happens.

Wide range of effects and good direction.
some good parts and some unpolished.
I am stunned - so many different styles and effect put into one demo seems illogical, but .. you made it work, on a very high level, awesome work.
.. or in internet words
.. much effect, such innovashun, wow!

Like it! Looks like a lot of effort has been put into transitions, etc.
Still a bit messy and off to a slow start, but gets really, really nice and interesting. Great music, too!?
amazing stuff
A bit odd, but great modelling at the end. Linux support!
This was kind of.. eh... fucking amazing.
Perfect soundtrack too.
Perfect soundtrack too.
Soo many effects. Many good effects. Could be like four different demos alltogether.
Anyway a good demo, would be awesome with selecting the best together fitting effects and pushing in a bit more polishing.

A bit of a hodgepodge as Maali mentioned, but I enjoyed it. Also: finally non-awkward 3d model animations in a demo! Great debut overall.
Pretty sure this demo scared some people who are way past their 10th released demo. It really has some nice points, and for me it even has a nice progression. One of the nitpicks I have is the colour grading, I feel with kusma there - some scenes look really good, while others feel very unpolished in their odd tones. I also like the tune a lot, very soothing and fitting.
Next year they have to move nscene a week to happen a week later, to give you more time to polish!

ruling the year waiting for asm2014...
really solid. i really love your universe, and feel like i want to see more of it.
An exquisite piece of art! Loved this and look forward to your future releases. Well done on 1st place! :D
Gurt-lush!
The only negative I could find is the ending was a little.. faded out! But a very small point on an otherwise brilliant demo.
The only negative I could find is the ending was a little.. faded out! But a very small point on an otherwise brilliant demo.
the positive: big thumb up for a strong debut, and the sheer amount of effort involved. some of the scenes (particularly the 2d stuff) were nice, the music was great and the demo connected to it very well - it made sense with the visuals. the sync and transitions were really well done too - making seemingly random content fit together almost seamlessly (youve been taking notes from navis i see? ;) ). the effort involved is amazing, and by one person too! in a very weak pc scene field this stands out.
and the negative: very little in this demo actually looks good in isolation. the content itself is weak - rendering, modelling, animation, effects, camera work, colours, design, concept.. to go from here to a really good demo will need a shift of focus towards quality not quantity.
but this is still a great start!

I usually don't like coder porn demos, but I really love this one! I don't know how, but it's just plain magic. Impressed!
Congrats on a smashing 1st release! Yes, it's rough and all, but overall it's really well done and original. The transitions were top notch! I really loved the kaleidoscopes, so nice! Hope to see more demos from you!
i love the weirdness of this one, reminded me of jim woodring which no demo ever achieved - so that's great! what i didn't like was the music, partly because it was simply too repetitive and smooth and I don't know.. just give it a little more craziness! overall nice thing, please continue!
wow, weird but wonderful use of effects, lack of direction though but it seems to be half intentional or atleast half fit. Gives me the buzz of a satori demo but with more traditional scenes. Great transitions, especially in-effect transitions like with the raymarched scene and the Buddha/voxel scene.
ugly, weird, unique, with soul.
Wow, full of nice ideas and cool effects, music is relaxing, love it!
rulez!
Very nice demo. Love the music and the way many old effects are combined/altered into something fresh.
Beautiful soundtrack and matching effects!
this is great, moa plz.
I like some parts. Others feel cheap.
I get a "Beyond the Mind's Eye" vibe, which I still love watching to this day.
And it has a Linux version, which ran smoothly on my GTX650.

A lot of really nice things going on here. As others mentioned, feels like Mind's Eye and other early prerendered demos/crossovers of the 1980s/90s.
Have mixed feelings from this....i miss some coherency and more design
Always nice to see fresh ideas.
liked the music
All hail eleven :)
I think Philip is a smart guy, unfortunately its not only about "what", but also about "how", and he is probably not a team player, maybe even lacks empathy.. wait what? wtf I'm talking about :-)
So yeah, cool !
So yeah, cool !
Finally saw this running realtime. Alright, just take the damn CDC!
Outstanding and remarkable 8)
wonderful :)
cool
Awesome !
I liked the part where the new guy schooled the European guys. :)
But seriously, it's very refreshing to watch a demo that's not mono-, or maybe duo-chromatic, doesn't repeat parts, doesn't strobe flash every beat, doesn't have dubstep, breakbeat, or drum & bass, and doesn't try to copy everyone else's particle/ribbon/shader-flavor-of-the-month effects. The music is slow and simple, but it takes you on a journey, and I kind dig that ambient-with-a-hint-of-IDM style anyway.
What it doesn't have is much a) artwork, or b) consistency. While the former could've made a great demo better, he already spent enough effort making the demo, I could tell. As for the latter, I think it gives this demo its charm, as it's part of the "journey" concept. And yeah, I can see how it gives it that 90's "mind's eye" animation vibe.
Here is the soundtrack, by the way.

It's a bit of a mishmash of everything, and some parts feel like they do not belong, but there's abundance of original effects and design.
As a demo it's definitely good.
As a first prod, it's goddamn mindblowing.

Some parts were amazing.
I can finally watch it thanks to the update. It's a nice peacefull intro, i especially like the part with hexagon pushed from surface.
Fantastic ride.
cool! i loved the hexagron grid part!
It seems that new people manage to pull of some really creative shit relatively often. Several very cool effects and visual ideas. Some flaw too though, like the dragon flying right in front of the camera. The music is... alright-ish, but very stale for the whole six minute ride. Looking forward to more from you.
Btw. those kaleidoscopic effects in the beginning, are they videos or am I just seeing things (i.e. encoding blocks and other artifacts)?

Struggling to find anything to like about this one...
Great effects, but too slow and sometimes a bit repetitive. The choice of music was definitely not my cup of tea. Still really great!
Very nice...
for the Dragon ^^
I don't usually comment on prods here. But something like a month later, this demo still undoes me. Not only does it bring the oldskool and the newschool together, it has an emotional dimension at the heart of the demos we all keep coming back to. We'll still be watching this demo ten years from now. And what Preacher said. For the first few days after getting home from the party, I was listening to the soundtrack on repeat.
Pretty good. Pacing is a bit slow, and the music isn't really my cup of tea.
Also, this is quite amazing for a firstie, I would say (:

i like the tracks of mikael fyrek. i've heard this song many times before. but this demo looks like winamp visual plug-ins. effects are good, but everything is random and there is no direction.
Nice!!
This is one of the most beautiful things I ever saw in a demo. The music didn't fit well and I missed a bigger concept, still thumbs up for the sheer beauty of effects.
Im a bit torn with this demo.... The effects are just awesome and the music is dope but a lot of the 3D models are.... just not good. Seriously eleven. Find yourself a good graphics artist and your demos be epic!
I love the way everything comes together in this demo. The visuals are borderline simple and often without a clear direction, but that makes a very nice fit with the almost hypnotic music. The way rather odd elements appear in some scenes, like the hexagon 3D colored z-buffer, are positively surprising.
Just fantastic. And the soundtrack is fabulous.
cool one - if only the music and direction wasn't so boring - piggy for me
So did TRSI, TiTAN or any other Ghettoscener group get their claws in to the group less creator of this awesome piece of demonstation? ;)
Or did Brainstorm beat them to it as usual?
Or did Brainstorm beat them to it as usual?
Love it!
surprised I forgot to thumb this up at the time, the more I watch it the more it's like a love letter to watching demos.
Love every part of this. Moar!
Almost sexual!
still watching this! It's great.
Wow
Nice music and transitions
I didn't thumb this long time ago? WTH?!
This is so amazing!
Although I almost felt asleep relaxed while watching I like this production very much.
Wonderful visuals and lovely music.
crazy good
Some really interesting stuff visually. It's a pity we haven't seen anything else from eleven since this.
yes
No source = No thumbs up!
Wtf is above? No prod created, no comments!
Lacks coherent design but contains fresh ideas. Impressive for a firstie. Thumbs up
Hello "We Stand Divided" of Cocoon and "Secret Rooms" of NVScene
both of your artwork ist really really NICE great work, but it's not cocOON with the Biedermeier interieur Porn-Room that destroys the cube and the sphear, its DSM5 (selector) that upgrades the mens to gunman or "soldiers" as the military would say after his women stupid enough aggree to the punsishment because she thinks that her whichcraft killed the first cube. chain letter with as many "soldiers" as possible. :(
DSM5 ist above the system, if .mil would recrute PsyOP's they would do it in PsychLIT. CvaxlQrs/fgnghf/1691315202095009792
