The poor stream couldn't handle this at all, but looked good regardless..
Interesting mix of styles. The first part was my favourite.
Theres so much here that I usually hate, but you pulled everything off in a very personal way. I don't recall seeing wireframes/cellshading done with this much style in a demo. Even the music was nice for being something not usually heard in demos. Oh and it run very well on a very low end gpu. Two gripes though, typography, and the absurdly strong vignetting at points.
Needs moarr polygonz, texture-resolutionz and post effects. Or was it made on a rig with an old graphics card, that couldnt handle more? Other than that a solid production.
Oops. Wrong demo for my comment. ;o)
This was a honest demo. I liked how the lighting environment changed during some scenes and I have to agree with noby about the kickass wireframe rendering. Some scenes were quite, err, muddy. Maybe a final color correction pass would've helped?
Is this the first fullsize demo from CAT? Wow, what a ride.
This is clearly more about the artistic and visual style than about technical achievements but thats ok, it comes with the nice touch of low hardware requirements.
Also kudos for the immersive and refreshingly non-wobby soundtrack, although I think it tries to be a little too hard to be something it is not at times which is interfering with the pace and connection to the visuals.

Congratulations on your first demo!
Solid all the way through. I like how the different parts are so separate yet fit together as a whole. I enjoyed the instrumental parts of the music but personally I'm not a huge fan of the vocals. Am I right in assuming that this started out as 64k and was turned in to a demo because of the music?

I like it!
Crashes after loading bar :\
Congrats it was perfect (though I would have preferred the music without the voice) !
Worked perfectly on my setup, the music style is not my cup of tea but the visuals are very neat and nicely synced :)
BRAVO!!
Clean visuals & nice atmosphere.
haha, at first i thought this is welcome intro to next The Sims game :)) Well done!
Loved it!
Great demo with nice alternation between each part :)
As mentioned on IRC, I have the feeling that two camera movement changes are a bit angular but that's just a small detail and doesn't bother much.
All in all: Nice production. Watched it on the stream, ran it two times on my PC today and would still watch it again.

in addition to just being awesome, this also runs under wine with no issues whatsoever (which is rare nowadays)
wow !
I miss some fitting pinball snd efx a little :)
yt/video please. only music on my old machine :)
Clean and happy rendering. I quite enjoyed. At some parts I wasn't sure if the music fits or maybe it needed some more variation (like the city flight near the end) but overall still cool.
Holy shit! What an excellent heavy metal trip! +1 for design!
Wow, great demo and very special style. Great graphics and sountrack.
Stunning!
Super cool!
This was very cool visually but the vocals kinda ruined the thumb here guys...
Rulez.
Good visuals bad music.
nice visual and direction.
Although I don't like music, on the whole, it is good.

I like the scenes but not so much the direction and music.
the first scene with the bird over the ocean is awesome! then it gets okish. vocals are not my cup of tea. overall piggie.
or thumb up by clicking instead of not clicking :D
Very cool demo !
Really entertaining production, both in terms of visual goodness and audio pleasure. Congrats! :)
I didn't like too much the first part aesthetically speaking (it's good technically though) but I really enjoyed the second part (except some camera movements). Same for music, the second part was better but the vocals did not disturb me. Nice work overall !
soundtrack makes it a bit cheesy but the effects compensate somewhat
Very nice
most visuals were cute and good looking. but jesus christ, those vocals, had to watch the rest of the demo muted.
What sensenstahl said. Without accidental thumb. :)
Nice ride!
A great mishmash of things. The suddenness of some transitions bothers me a but, but this was really fresh in every other way.
Middle Part makes it for me. Music is not my cup of tea, but fits in somehow.
entertaining.
the middle part makes it for me as well.
the middle part makes it for me as well.
I can't connect at all with the music and that ruins the whole experience for me.
Good job with the visuals, which look good, with some clever ideas everywhere.

Cool graphic, crap vocal
nice.
visuals completely outdo the soundtrack, but maybe thats why the feeling is so refreshingly light.
Cool gfx.
Hated the music.
Hated the music.
It's great to see smaller demoparties being supported with high quality demos such as this. Not so keen on the vocals, but otherwise the tune works really well with the visuals.
Excellent work!
Excellent work!
Can we get a karaoke version? :D
That's refreshing! Congrats!
The ride in the beginning was really awesome, but at the same time it set me up for expectations that weren't fulfilled, as the latter part of the demo didn't really manage to cash in on the buildup. Regardless, excellent work and a deserving winner.
extremely nice visuals (+ hardly listenable soundtrack, awful & irritating vocals).
thumb up only because of the visuals/code.

Great
Really nice rendering and some cool content! Music was a bit all over the place, especially in the mix department, and many others commented on the vocals already.. but overall this totally worked.
Woah… one my favourite of that early 2014 :) You just nailed it guys!
lovely demo!
Rulez hard!
Retro tunnel styling + a Roppongi-esque freeway intersection + apparent Star Fox influence = lots of fun
Worked for me aesthetically, and worked on my budget laptop too :-)
Amazing atmosphere! Good job guys
what maali said but with a thumb for cute openings and epic looking cities.
hm, hard to rate this one correctly. I appriciate the work. still the music disturbes me a lot. also because some parts are horribly out of tune.
code and ideat > great
music (i can imagine the idea, but it completely failed, esp. the singing > had to mute)
= piggy

I didn't really like the music, or rather, the vocals, but this is still undeniably your best production to the date.
I join the bandwagon, I liked a lot this demo, but the music is a bit "meh" (but not so bad after all) and the vignetting is a bit strong...
But it's still a solid thumb up for me, the flat shaded 3d fly-by and the particles scene are really neat!

I bought it all along!
A great variety in visual style, but it remains consistent and not boring at any moment.
Music choice is a bit out of the box, from a demoscene point of view, that's a good thing imho.

What is it with vocals in demo tunes, they always seem so out of place. :)
Superb visual - music is not my cup of tea - still a clear thumb up!
Well yes, nice! I generally like vocals in demos, here they just sound a bit too cheezy / amateurish. Other than that it also looks very nice and for a first one is certaily very well done!? Congrats!
Very nice!
Maybe it ends a bit abruptly (for me at least).

Nice ride, awful music.
epic!
Really enjoyed that! The music is not really my cup of tea, but props for doing something a bit different with it. I loved the progression through the intro, it really felt like I was travelling somewhere. It would have worked really nicely as an invite too. Thanks :)
WOW, that sucked!
The music is annoying as hell! ( I love Rock, listen to Metal and Punk on a daily base!) -> I hate Voices in Demo-Soundtracks, this time i cant even call it Voices, the singing is utmost bad!
The Visuals bored the Death out of me, why are you boring me with Triangles, badly colored, badly shaded (hypnoglow didn´t help here, was the only shader-technique that hid the real ugliness of it all!) and arranged on such a slow pace compared to the music?!
How this ended up 1st place must be some case of namevoting! :p

very enjoying
but please stop singing, that sucked hard(y)

I tried to find a connection for me between the music and the visuals. I failed. Some nice visuals and effects. But i guess the sound would work better without the visuals and vice versa.
Fantastic demo, but any chance of a remix with a different tune? :D (The music is probably fine, but it's extremely not my cup of tea.)
Wow! To see the speed of you progress is scary.
Not bad. :)
I liked some of the visuals, especially the beginning. But the demo often breaks flow and style. Why the sudden camera movements after heading straight for 1 minute or so?
Yeah, and the music did not fit at all.
Yeah, and the music did not fit at all.
Very nice production :)
Really liked the sudden changes :)
I like (some of) the visuals, but the vocals… help!
Cool visuals, but I agree on the vocals and/or mixing being rather disturbing.
Take the vocals out and this is a great production! Different, stylish, refreshing!
has its moments
Love the cute and colorful style of it.
It does feel a bit like a 64k (except for the music of course), but it does so in a good way!

Music is absolutely not my cup of tea, but the visuals are just great :)
Oh dear Jeebus the music was torturous, whoever did the engineering needs to seriously re-work the whole thing, and the singer needs to record where somewhere where she's not afraid of waking up the neighbours. I'm sure she can sing better, but as it stands it's audible that she has an artificial restraint.
The demo itself is obviously a lot of work, marred by bad cinematography.

I kinda like the singing, it sure ain't high production value - but hey, somebody sang for free to your demo - so kudos for both sides for that. And it reminded me on FLCL for a reason I can't pin point.
For the demo, I feel like dfox, the beginning is awesome - I love that blue tone of the water, and even the red complements the green gras. The part where the wind turbines are visible also is cool, and is also the first point where I asked myself: wait, how did we get here?!
I love the attractor part, and visually it fits the music, but I can't shake the feeling it's glued in - despite it having a transition. Maybe a camera move, making the camera facing a night sky and building the particle clouds from there could have worked? Not sure if that would have fitted the story though.
For some weird reason I like that high street part the most, it might be the fast cuts, or that camera movements - but I really like that one. Also that drive through the tunnel that opens up is really, really cool. The city sooooomehow leaves me cold, I like the motion blur on the sharp turns, and it fits the tune. However that one small bit won't click for me,also that shaking - I know why you put it in there, but meeeh - it really throws me off, I think it shakes too fast?
My biggest complain however is that we'll never know what she wanted to tell, ooooh noez - open ends :D
All in all 8/10 would watch again,- and if you need someone to make a better 2D thingamobob in the beginning - let me know <3

mog: Seems like people even programmed, and made graphics and music for free! (not worth as much as singing as is seems, but still!) ;)
Anyway, about the vocals: What Gargaj said. Put her into a properly insulated room, give her a shot of vodka, turn up the music on the headphones (but not too much) and then let her sing for half an hour _before_ pressing the record button. That should fix most of what's been criticised, really.
Thumbs up anyway for the style :)

me likes, although some stuff is not completely perfect as mentioned numerous times above..
First prod? No way!
But deserves thumb up. I enjoyed this trip.

strange, it was really good for the first 2 minutes, i really liked the whole flat shaded quad landscape flyby and how it worked with the track. but then everything - the visuals, the song, direction, ideas, everything - completely ran out of steam. the whole particle section felt dull & out of place, the "city" at the end just looked like a really generic load of greebled blocks. even the band seemed to run out of ideas. :|
shame, because the first half had style - really reminded me of a polygonised version of an old french music video i'm struggling to recall the name of.

For the whole demo i constantly thought what i'm seeing and what i'm hearing were totally separate, piggie because of that. And yes, music was very sort of, flat.
I don't like the music and the particles looked like something was fucked up with your HDR. But i did like the the tron-buildings and the beginning.
Thumb up for the first demo, although vocals suck horribly (I bet it's a matter of recording/mixing, not the vocalist herself)
Too flat. Also song has too dry sounding.
The scenes are kawaii (I like that, but they stay forever on the same basic idea) and the music is not. (But if it was more punk and matched to punk visuals the combo could have great potential).
superbe demo, stylish and goood
strange world , strange music and an artistic point of view in a demo so then thumb up for me for sure !

great demo, but the music during the city part made me almost press escape (vocals are ok, though)
I really liked the visuals, but I think the music jsut doesn't fit and I didn't like it.
This would be a great demo if not for the particle part and the horrible singing. The particles looked very nice, but completely broke the visual concept and didn't fit in at all, and while I usually like vocals in demos, the singing in this one wasn't good.
The first ride through the landscape was great though!
The first ride through the landscape was great though!
This is great :)
you could think that..4 people doing the music it wouldn't suck..
Cool, but less than the cocoon demo
Technically great. Visually slightly too many color varation for my taste and no consistent visual "hook". And those supposed to be green-grass fields with dark grey streets just horribly generic ;P Overall, still a thumb though.
great demo
I'm not so sure about the music tho

Cool direction, scripting and synch work. And overall looking nice.
good overall
like many I'm not a fan of the music, yet I would like to know more about the band!
