Fuuuuu the twister + fuuuuu the Orb logo part.
Better than expected and I always except top notch from orb :)
Holy cow...friggin brilliant. The only thing I've ever seen/played on a Pet was Monopoly! This rocks.
Nice effects and music. The Orb logo is cool!
:O
ruuulezz!!!
ruuulezz!!!
Cool effects
I so cannot judge the effort but the source code looks freaking sick to me and world's firsts are world's firsts! I really enjoyed the demo, the orb logo with the plasma even was fecking gorgeous!
Effin' brilliant, best PET demo so far. :-)
lovely
Well that is just awesome. The ultimate PET demo. I love the glitchy quality of the screenmode and the effects were top notch. Even the music was bearably good.
I'd really like to see this on the real HW.

Finally some proper hardware banging on PET! I guess this is the first PET demo that abuses the CRTC registers to some extent, right?
I'd like to know whether this demo uses raster tricks for anything? (See CPC demos for some possible applications of raster sync on the CRTC)

Can't really stand the music. :) Rest is very good though, only the twister is a bit too static for my liking. Anyway, cool Petmo. :)
Badass!
totally awesome, I still don't realize what is possible to do with a ~30 years old computer :D
Wow!
:O amazed
Fucking neat ... finally a PET demo that doesn't suck :)
PET soundtrack is quite annoying, but I guess that's due to the nature of the hardware ... and this remotely resembles music, which makes up for it :) Awesome.

WOW!
Orb logo overt he plasma rocks hard, as do many of the other screens, great fun demo, merry xmas! =)
RULEZ!
i know jack shit about the platform, but i guess the stuff i saw was impressive :)
i see this as proof of concept, that you should not make demos on pet
This is pretty nice, good work!
This is soooo cool! There are so many good effects there, lot's of stuff to see, probably the best pet demo ever (I don't remember to have seen another one though, definitelly not this good :)
Mad use of the CRTC, mad use of the beeper and overall mad use of the PET, fucking awesome!
This has to be a new leading contender for "demo you'd most like to take back in time to when the machine was first released, and nonchalantly load up at whatever trade show it was launched at, just to fuck with people's heads".

You're the best?
Plasma/Orb logo part & the zoomer + petting ofcourse
Pfftt... damn newschoolers doing demos for the PET-4032, that machine was released in 1980, that's like YESTERDAY or something. Real coders target the PET-2001, 1977 vintage machine...
:P
Just kidding ofcourse, this is an amazing piece of work! New video mode kicks ass, and great to see an array of classic effects in it. Also good use of PETSCII in the parts running in normal text-mode.
4-mat is one crazy man to be able to get something that actually sounds like music out of the built-in piezo!
Best PET-demo EVAH!
Since I had the privilege of being "in-the-loop" so to speak, I knew this demo was coming, didn't expect it so soon though.
You could have kept it under wraps and made a strong bet for the wild compo prize in just about any compo, but instead we get it as an early Christmas present - thank you guys!

Watch this with the headphones off the ears, and your ears buried in concrete. Only joking, that was doing the best with limited possibilities.
Otherwise it kicks hard!

way easier to enjoy with the SID cart enabled :D
that said, mighty impressive work on that old beast :)

cool demo, and besides that, every further exploitation of old devices to do effects that were not possible before is surely worth a thumb!
crazy =)
Best PET demo ever, had no idea anything other than PETSCII was possible.
Wooo!
too bad it wont work on my own 8096 :(
Rulez !
PET POWER !
About time someone made a fully real PET demo.
I am still waiting for a real demo running on Pac-Man arcade machine :P.

Props for the new video mode, props for the audio driver, the effects... everything. Damned impressive.
What trixter said.
wow!
:O
This is unreal. Genius trick pulled off on the refresh syncing.
this is great
awesome !
I'm trying to run the Demo on my German CBM 4032.
It goes as far as the welcome screen, but doesn't move on from there.
What could be the problem?

I just bought a CBM 4032-32N (50 Hz) and tested this. The first screen shows ok for the lower portion of the screen and the top portion is filled with green colour. When the scene changes there's a blank screen and the music gets really slow for a couple of seconds. Some scenes show like they were XORed with a checkerboard pattern. After about a half a minute the screen goes blank again and the music goes really slow for about a minute. After that the cathode ray gets centered and I had to turn off the power to not damage the screen. https://www.icloud.com/photos/#0XueFiSLSGdJY-b1nqSH1zH2A
this rocks
petting
Even tunnel was there! Imagine this somehow made and played on PET in the 70s. Jaw down!

A Pet 4032 demo "No Pets Allowed)
This demo features a new video mode for the Pet...
Unforunately there is no plattform selectable so it's a wild thing...
For those not having the real machine, you can try Vice emulator with the proper settings (4032, 32 kb ram) or else you
will get a message if you start the demo that you need a Pet 4032.
Go to the settings menu and select Pet settings. There select the machine to use >4032<
The demo also supports a Sid card. You can select the music at startup. To enable the Sid emulation in Vice:
Go to settings menu -> Cartridge settings and enable Sid emulation.
Things to download:
-binaries
Sources for the video mode (explanation how it works is included too)
and the music replayer are attached to the zip.

-Video capture from Vice. Unfortunately we don't know someone with a 50Hz Pet.
If someone can capture it would be great.

Important
This demo works only on a Pet 4032 with >50Hz< !
