this one impressed the audience with the first keyframed "human" in 64k. not that fun but a milestone.

Just a funny idea. Nice music..

Did you knew that there is a conversion of this demo for Spectrum?
I had found it here: (Hope it still works..)

Umm, I don't think this intro got 1st at assembly. Take a look at some results files :).

Very amusing and original intro.

i was impressed by the animation, the way the guy moves keeps you in a feeling he was motion-captured :-) ... :-| ... :-. ... :-O ... :-c

crs. he was motion-captured (by hand)

they filmed some movement and then keyframed frame by frame.

sick, eh? :)

exocet, well it's one of the few coma releases where other people than virne were involved, too. :) praise mcgurk!

Hmm, I saw the Coma boys doing the keyframes with my own eyes.. Don't know how the Slight people managed to release theirs a week before?
rulez added on the 2007-06-04 08:55:54 by Jope Jope
Nobody on PC even knew about an atari8bit-scene back in 1995, so I guess it's the atari-guys ripping off the bigger scenes once again ;)
added on the 2007-06-04 10:21:21 by britelite britelite
Yeah, I also witnessed COMA working on this first hand.. So better not spread too much bullshit, ok?
added on the 2007-06-04 10:24:35 by break break
8bit atari still sucks!

(oh, and this prod rules)

havoc: The reasoning for you coming to the conclusion that QuaST 95 was held before Assembly 95 was highly speculative to say the least. Maybe you were wrong?

The easiest way to solve this mystery would probably be to email Jaskier + someone from Coma and ask but where's the fun in that...
added on the 2007-06-04 14:07:19 by Sverker Sverker
tribe, or maybe i am right? let's assume quast was a week *after* assembly. do you think slight would've managed to do a conversion of coma's prod on atari8 in a week? ...right. so maybe they both ripped off another source..? :-)
added on the 2007-06-04 17:17:15 by havoc havoc
yes i think. its ripped from coma. and talk about group psychology mr "c-rem didnt rip anything" havoc

I always liked this intro, it was original back then. I remember it started a trend in Hungary (in the lamerdemo section), and a legend was born: the group called Firg :))))

Didn't like it back in the day. Seems a bit better after these 17 years but it's still a cheap crowdpleaser.

The music and the title cards work and it runs through, but the animated scenes don't show up. I guess they use a different video mode for those. I tried a couple of different memory and video setups and also univbe, alas to no avail.

This is a bit late, lol, over 10 years have passed since this comment, but just in case anyone was still wondering, in the Atari prod they credited the PC prod. Now we have YouTube and it's easier to prove. Here's the proof: https://youtu.be/qfY-ld-I60M?t=1214

I remember when this came out, and silly as it may look now, it looked awesome and was a real breakthrough back then (motion capture without motion capture hardware).

Forgotten thumb. Awesome tune! The music compo entry "Opetusta kerrakseen" was even better. OPETUST3.MOD. Underrated scene gem!
