great music and crazy visuals!

only negatvie thing is the artefacts on the window edge which is a bit annoying..

Just plain ugly and totally pointless.

Another cliched minimalistic demo.

I understand that not everyone has demomaking skills, but a bit of originality wouldn't do any harm instead of copying the same old minimalist formula...no colour variation, lines, white noise, slow movements and so on.

Oddly fascinating. At least it saved the Evoke demo compo!

just like other minimalartifact prods, basically.
so not really my taste. but the fact that towards the end it reminded me a bit of a certain stanley cubric film prevents it from beeing thumbed down.

Succeeded in invoking the feeling of travelling on a high speed train much better than Kraftwerk ever did.

I did this unpublished thing a few weeks ago:

Why the fuck you chose NOT to use antialiasin, but to use excessive blur, and damn ugly lines moving through the otherwise ok'ish object is beyond me.
This does not appeal to me - especially not after the object was removed in the latter half of the demo.

rulez added on the 2008-08-10 19:29:25 by havoc havoc
i like3d it very much. enjoyable and hypnotic. not a typical "noise demo".

also, somehow there is a zx spectrum influence...

puryx: but but.. i thought you liked noise.. :(
added on the 2008-08-10 19:57:39 by psenough psenough
ps: sometimes I do - as I wrote the start of the demo was ok, but then I was totally ruined - I´m not a noise-lover, but I think I appreciate a wellmade noise demo - and this didn´t really convince me - "sorry" :)

an ok demo, i have seen better from you guys.
still, it was best in the compo and should've won. :)

rulez added on the 2008-08-10 20:55:28 by Alpha C Alpha C
rather better than what I expected it to be, the music is the best bit. The rest is too much of "lets do a find-edges image processing filter on a random objects demo". Still, it is not bad at all. A weak thumb up
added on the 2008-08-10 21:06:44 by Navis Navis
egb: some of them were abit badly tuned (lack of direct fft array access), others were intentionaly left wrong for ye good old errorism climax ending effect. but yeh, its a 1 week fiddling with engine thing, wasnt exactly finetuned to death ;) especially with the bloody horrible hangover and the german need to constantly play hardcore at the partyplace in loud speakers at any possible time, while im lacking headphones and its too sunny to see anything on screen outside. :D some quirks got tuned, others were left as features.
added on the 2008-08-10 21:36:26 by psenough psenough
some really interesting effects in there and definitely the most "melodic" soundtrack ever used in a kosmo/minimal demo. but this is still way to strange (sounding) for me.

so strange and so original, but not my cup of tea :]

A crying shame it didn't win. The demo is actually pretty good, and I really enjoyed the intense soundtrack.

On OS X it quits soon after launch with:
"Engine Error
fbo_upload: Error uploading fbo '1': no error"

When directly launching the binary from terminal, quits here:
"Begin scanning ./data/pool/textures/particles
End reading from ./data/pool/textures/particles
End reading from ./data/pool/textures
End reading from ./data/pool
End reading from ./data
End reading from .
Error: fbo_upload: Error uploading fbo '1': no error"

G4 with Shader Model 3.0 GPU and Leopard here.
-How do I get it running?

Now, i re-watched it several times, and i find it more and more fascinating...
The soundtrack is huge, with an excellent progession. That's the kinf of "noise" i like! :).
By the way: what means the message (in serbian?) at the end of the roll?
added on the 2008-09-16 18:14:25 by untel untel
untel: its actually portuguese written in macedonian cyrillic. says something like "now that everything is gone". mfx reference.
added on the 2008-09-16 20:19:58 by psenough psenough
hoild: i think the shaders need some stuff that g4 cant provide, i asked the coders about it but they couldnt tell me more than a "needs a more recent machine", sorry i cant be more helpful :/

VERy nice, the camera movement and direction are spot on. Loved the track too, one of the best I've heard from ps (and dominator). Didn't get the exe to run though, it seems to at least have problems with dual monitor setups.

Odd resolution on my iMac .. but the effects are jazzy and quite impressive to say the least. Only problem was that it took so long to "get going". Otherwise very nice.

...oh and the zip archive doesn't uncompress with the Finder. I had to use Unarchiver app. (MAC)

Also, edit this file "graphics.spo" BEFORE you first run the demo and change to your monitors resolution. Hey presto it fills the screen!!

Hope this helps someone.......
