Fun thing is, evoflash is actually finnish doubleacronym from"et vaan osaa flashia" (You can't do flash) and "ei voi olla flashia" (That can't be flash) and these were our original jokes when we were thinking of our groups name :)

While I kind of like the design of the previous Evoflash productions better compared to this colorfest and trance, I can only conclude that this thing is frigging awesome.

Very nice. I say use the possibility and advantage of online versions to the fullest. Spam straight up demo links around the 'webs. Provide the context, that's an outreach, hell, that's a gateway drug.

This demo was just bashed together in 10 days to get something out, we were really close to drop demo this year because we were exhausted with irl issues.
Our next demo will get engine revamp with more modular design vs static effect renderstack, and new features from flash player 10 including pixel shaders. I hope we finally get some design out too, having 3 coders and only one pixelgfxer is bit hard on design :)

not at all my cup of tea - sure thing, it's cool that you coded all those framebuffer effects in flash but to me that's kind of beating the point. technically, you should at least try to take some advantage of the platform - afaik flash can do a lot more than putting pixels. as a ride it's carried by the (generic, but decent) music cause the visuals are plain ugly, screaming "1996 3rd place demo on a medium sized party".
don't get me wrong, it's a cool effort, and i think it's cool that there's at least a few democrews who target flash as a decent coding platform (because, frankly, it is) and getting good at it, but i've the idea that with the skills you guys have you could've rolled out something a lot more impressive.
maybe it's just because i'm such a newschool faggot, but i've yet to see a flash demo that can beat "$21" in terms of sucking the viewer in.

It rather feels like a generic 5-year old, maybe even older, demo. It does a good job at that with some decent bombastic trance to go with it, but while it managed to keep me watching until the end it did nothing surprising or really innovative.

Using vector graphics is exactly the reason why most flash is so damn slow and sucks. We just have single 800x400 bitmap buffer that is passed around from post processing effect to another to final effects that we render everything, which might include sprites.

and still about the music: the unexpected breakbeat part was fucking awesome, but imho lasted exactly one repeat too long and the four-to-the-floor climax kinda got lost when you filtered the hihats/drums away one repeat too early.

99er feels a bit rushed to me : many filler effects + the mandatory crowd pleasure. It does have some nice parts and effects though.

Impressive for a Flash demo! Wow. Love those colorful scenes like the Rubik's Cube!
you know, rendering realtime effects in quick pace to a bitmap buffer (as with SDL) really gives you a strong feeling that demo is realtime rendered! duh :P
- It's a shame coz there're some pretty interesting FX in this demo, but they run sluggish, ruinned by the choosen architecture,...perhaps a SDL version should be more sliky.

Nice. Among other things, the rasterizer looks very much like quality.
