I took this screenshot since the intro was too slow for my 1200mhz athlon with a gf2mx card; it more or less locked my system ;-)

Ran fine here. Nothing much to see, except that lovely spikey torus rotating.
The rest was...garbage? :)

somehow i expected more :)
ugly, badly designed and stupid demo in 64k. few really nice objects and good music, but still definitely nothing I wanted to see. sorry
I want you to note that it's not 64k, and it's not "badly designed", more like "thrown together in 20 minutes" (i.e. no design at all).
Get your facts straight. :)
Get your facts straight. :)
We thoroughly apologize for wasting your precious time. I hope our next production will be more of your liking.

whaha, screenshot rulez!! :)
600mhz coppermine chewed the precalc stuff in more then half a minute.. (athlons rule, right? 8))
but the intro is quite painful to look at, really. 8}

let's code! put on your ruler gloves and type the blues!
or sth...
party productions suck... but are fun to make ;)

whoahahaho! at least the farbrausch people had more fun making it than some people would like to have watching it.
Nice torussy spiky-thingy.
Nice torussy spiky-thingy.
the spike thing are cool, but how the hell did you manage to make it choppy on a taulatin p3 1.53ghz/geforce 3 ti500 combo?
and now that im ranting anyway ;P . id like to see the musicians fingers broken and his HD killed with a hammerdrill :D
except for the torus, the screen shot really shows the best part of this ... thing!

No standing ovations this time, I guess. :)
Music was nice, but there really wasn't any connection between the scenes.
Um, I didn't have any problem with choppiness or anything (gf256 / athlon700 / latest detonators). It ran quite quickly actually.
Congrs 4 the screenshot! Spikey thingy will love everyone..
I help you now reaching the worst voted prods of pouet entry. Kidding :) I am just grasping on your state of fun today. You did it right now! ;)
Rock da pouet, crazy Optimus going to pay his Icafe bill now.. ;P

Runs just fine on a p3/933 with a gf2mx. Only one effect chokes the crippled mx memory bus. Task manager reports 128megs of memory usage. I have lots of ram. The music is very good and pleasantly conventional. Most effects are well done, a few could have been left out. The effects are slammed on the monitor almost randomly. There is no text, no greets, no credits. My take is that someone was not realy feeling coca-cola when this was released.
Thumbs may be interesting to some, right now there's another certain finger that I would like to use.
(I ran out of smileys tonite)

a gløt intro ?
i'm sure the demo that will follow will make us forget that ;)

runs fine on my tb1333/gf2pro ... but that doesn't really matter.
oh, and I almost forgot...
Macaw: Maybe it's one of those classic PEBCAK problems. You should really check it out. It gets rather irritating after the 100th time.

oh yeah. What a screenshot. Ran fine on this athlon 1000/ati rage fury angry pissed-off irate 128 thingy (which sadly isn't mine).. music wasn't bad..
but am I the only one who thinks this looks like a random collection of polygons became sentient and took over Direct3D to display their wildest fantasies, completely ignoring what humans would like to watch?

humans ?
okay. coders.
you can bitch and moan as much as you like - i still think it is really good.
Any comments which can be said about this being 'bad' can be applied to 'please the cookie thing'
Yes, it looks like random jizzblobs. So do _all_ demos with jizzblobs.
It doens't have a tunnel or greets, that must be why folks think it sucks.
It's NOT groundbreaking. It's got some nice parts.
It's nothing special. It's worth downloading if you have a fast machine and enjoy watching jizzblob demos.
Hopefully this will be the LAST EVER jizzblob demo, but somehow I have a feeling we'll see jizzblobs for 80 more years... <sigh>
But overall, I'll watch it again, cuz I did like some of the effects.

Oh, but of course. I prefer London over Birmingham for the exact same reason!

Music was good.
Some effect and scene change timing was good.
However, on my machine (Pentium2 350Mhz,Geforce2mx), it was late.
However, on the whole, I liked this prod.

Would've been something really cool if they actually gave a damn about making it. Please come up with a new progress bar. And please stop switching between the same effects over and over like a Winamp plugin. Even if they don't care, the rest of the scene is bound to copy this sloppy way of demo-making because it won. :/
once again, ugly textures, ugly music, ugly colors, ugly scenes, and i haven't even seen it yet...
Fastmade randomized abstract shit with monotone crap dunk dunk tune, and they know it.
isn't it bad that it could win? make better productions, losers!
ugly. bad design. average music.
it didn't run very well on my duron900 with gf2mx though.
If this won, the other entries must've been very bad or the voters sucked. propably a bit of both.

my guess is "both". same reason as with the haujobb-demo. namevoting.
I can't understand why a group with so much talent chooses to release intros like this.
Ooh. Shapes. Lots of shapes. Interesting shapes, and not bad shapes, but that's about it.
Some nice colors, and some interesting (and quite cool) effects, especially the transparent noisy deformed donut thingy.
The spiky torus was kind of neat too.
The music was not ear-bleedingly bad, but it could have been better.
More polygons != better production.
You design, or a strategic combination of a few facets of a production to make it work, which this did not have.
Sorry, but this was merely okay. I would watch it again though, because I do happen to like some of the highpoly models.

Oh, yeah, and read the nfo. It wasn't even supposed to be good.

Sad that TP has come to a such low standard on the sceneside. It seems like noone really cares about TP (including me of course). I bet most of the contendants in the 64kb intro compo spend less than 2 days creating their entries.
Just to make that clear: All those fr-voted "sucks" are really meant that way; it's NOT for fun, we think it sucks, but we wanted to release something, and like I said during the pricegiving, it really sucks that such an intro can win TP. Something went seriously wrong here.
Really nothing more to say about this prod.
Forget it and vote for the MFX intro, which ruled.

dolphin dreams rocked
heh :)
MFX intro was gløt, this one was fløt ...
somehow the design in here reminded me of introes back in 95-96, just some random objects turning around. it's really not interesting at all, but as it was done fast and just for fun, it's ok.
the voters who voted for this one suck real badly, especially since you also had a lot better intro in the compo.
and i love the fact that we'll be boozing with your winning money when we come to mekka/symposium. :)
you guys rule.

everything is in the production name : garbage. just looks like some quickly packaged effects. i like that weird torus with spikes but the rest is boring and ugly. it's a shame for the whole scene that something that it's author describe as a cracktro wins one of the biggest party... both thumbs down to all the voters... :(
damn, i meant a craptro, not a cracktro :)
Am i stupid or have i heard the tune (or atleast the main melody) before?
Why did you wasted so good effects in such a crappy way? It looked as joke as the other one... (but good you decided to spare the prize with us, even we don´t even deserve it)
there are no effects inside.
this is 100% pure fr013 engine with ONE new filter (displacement mapping) and lots of highpoly objects with envmaps - that's it.
the whole work for this one sums to about 8 hours from scratch (not including the tune, though).

Screw all of you! I liked it.
ryg: you forgot that glowverts-stuff.
but anyway this sucks :)
but anyway this sucks :)
good effects, ok music, but awful design
and no design for a demo full of only code is : booooring
no thumb down because effects taked one by one are good but bad used and absolutly no design, it's not a demo it's a benchmark of the coder's routines :-)

I agree with gloom, I really like it! sorry guys, but I do =) well, it could have been a lot better, but considering it was thrown together at the party, I think it was ok. Gotta love the music though =) (Viruz II rocks)
Well, it's kinda' short. But as I said, it's a party production. Just hope that farbrausch soon will take their time to do a really great intro which gets more fame than fr08, because they deserve it.
Also, I think what you did at the price-ceremony showed some real scene-feeling, since most groups wouldn't do something like that. They'd just be happy to win.

Well, better than I expected. And ran much smoother than I thought it would. Actually, better than almost any 3d accelerated prods. Maybe 5fps or even more! And the music was great.
Shouldve saved up instead of rushing it for TP.
zzz.
zzz.
Call me crazy, call me nuts, call me baloney, call me whatever you want but for a party production, I think this is not bad.
Erm... dunno...
Music is cool... (heard much worse)
Code is... well... objectgeneration routines are cool, syncing is also nice (according to my P333+TNT2 >:)...
And hey, it's short.
(At least shorter than the loading time. :)

Why do everybody think it's Farbrausch, it's bad? OK, it's not a killer, but better than some other stuff i saw.
an OK intro, some nice objects, just needs some continuity and direction.
ummm... pure name-voting.
I don't like this prod so much... but the torus rocks! Only torus...
The music is good but a little fast-made (same for this fast-64k intro)
Farbraush: Think, The Product make a point - AFTER and BEFORE fr-08. What the reason for producing this 'garbage'? Some fr-adicts whas disappointed with this. Please continue making happy your fans and coverall marking the difference.
Solstice respects Farbrausch.

ya know.. this really DOES suck :D
no it doesn't... what am I saying.
Erm... which fr members made this anyway? :)
Were they simply too scared to add credz to the file_id.diz? (Nah, just kidding. :)
BTW, is there anyway to get the tune? My little brother nags me all the time for it...

cp,exoticorn,kb,ryg,wayfinder (alphabetical order :)
Wicked Cool! I love the way it is just so random.
It may sound strange, but this is the farb-rausch product I've enjoyed the most so far, the objects are really cool. Way to go farb-rausch
i somehow cannot understand farb-rausch. i think they are capable of design and great code, but they lateley tend to not showing it. this way they are doomed to perish. note that i am not following the trend of demo-bashing here, i actually like the better ones of farb-rausch's releases, but the group seems somewhat unconcentrated lateley.
we're not unconcentrated, we simply have no quality standard whatsoever - if we like something, we finish it and release it, if we don't like it, we release it anyway to get rid of it. perhaps irritating to viewers, but actually quite a nice way of working :)
haha, fuck.. ryg.. you quoted me ! ;)
Well, fast prods are fast prods, but is (at least) technically astounding, but it doesn't have anything more (no design, no credits, no greets...)
technically astounding?
why?
why?
because of the bitchin' precalc-bar, obviously.
simulationszeitalter
Very Nice :-)
Hmm, unfortunately, I expected more, and got disappointed by this when I saw it first. Didn't think it deserved to win, but after FR passed on the prize to another group, they definetively were the right winners of this compo. My thumb up is for their behaviour and not for their prod...
stinks! farbrausch are stupid ugly germans who stink adn suck at making demos and this prooves it!!!!!!!
not all of us are ugly.
some very impressive effects
nice looking effects (random thrown together) + SHITTY Deutschland pseudo-trance
Loved the music, great models, but all stuck together in a rush into, well, a garbage collection.
oh god, unbelieveble that there really are bad fr prods :)
bad fr prod ??
Loved the music and the really nice object effects...especially this "kaktus" like ring mesh...

I don't realize why people like that SHITTY music:(((((
+ Some nice 3D
+ Soundtrack
+ Soundtrack
There is something mysteriously appealing in the soundtrack, but it's not enough to save this. Not the usual Farbrausch quality
it's not that bad
bad
I like the music. The demo itself, though? This compared to other farbrausch products is like a dictionary compared to a novel - a nice collection of the words you CAN use, but they don't go anywhere, don't spark the imagination. The dictionary is a useful thing to have, but not many people will read it for fun...
is ok with a minus
Good intro. Music - rulez!
Cool music but the intro is a bit unsubstantial.
Don't talk about things you didn't understand. I'm not aware of ever seen a well made dutch production.
FR proved it more than once that they are one of the best at time.
See your group-rankings where you are in, a few crap prods.

My assumption is that you are you bit jealous of FR. Go play with LEGO but don't touch a pc.

Spike Donut....Ouch.....
i like it a lot, music is awesome
it's not bad it's just a garbage collection :D
I think the music is just funny. But the donut looks cool.
you call this garbage???? how dare you!!
me likes this :)

soundtrack... it seems that i haven't thumbed many fr prods yet.
Some fantastic stuff for the time! I was amazed at the polycount.
pretty raw, unfinished and unpolished, but very kewl for being made at the party :D
cool track
Music is actually quite good. But...
a little thumb for the cheesy but nice music :)
niiice music here)
not enough time to design or fill the 64k,
not enough motivation to write credits,
not enough garbage to make this a real mess,
not enough ideas to keep it interesting for the whole time,
not enough compatibility testing to make it run on anything
except nvidia without problems,
not enough optimization to allow you to run it in any senseless
way below athlon xp 1800+,
not enough dynamic memory compression to require less than 1.5gb
of ram
so like garbage.

Too short, not much content for 64k category - but, really love the music. So a close thumb from me.

awful sluggish undesigned crap. only great music saves it from tumbdown
