Cute idea to use Crinkler, although it is totally overkill for a 1k. Half of your bytes are spent on the depacker :)
There is definitely room for improvement, if someone is to write a specialized 1k PE packer. Consider that a challenge and lets see some truly amazing 1k's! :)

I estimate that the windows 1k effects will really take off when a majority of people will own shaders 3.0 gfxcards & i'm hoping for 1k fx compos at parties obviously ;).
