this our first prod ever. don't expect nothing but basic 3D stuff. In fact everithing but the soundtrack (which is in mho really good) is pretty average. we started the group only 3 weeks of work before the party. next time things will be really different, you'll see. Hope you enjoy this one, anyways. Greets!

First party for a new crew and they manage to finish their first production before the deadline after working for 3 weeks, I can but say that this gets a thumbs up for keeping on working instead of taking the easy route and going outside to booze all day-night.

nvolver: that selfthumbing is a bit of a faux-pas -I'll just refrain from thumbing this myself to even things out :) Nice first-time product, keep up the good work and beat the living shit out of limp ninja next time in the compos.

You don't know just how hard that is, do you?

Thumb up for your first demo. I think that this is the first demoscene production made with Ogre (correct me if I'm wrong).

in fact they also took the route to the nearest pub. I know because I was there too xDDDDD
it was a nice surprise to see this demo in the compo. I'll keep following you, guys.
Arroz con col, arroz con col...
that's true sole, we wen't to celebrate right after we fixed the release compilation, that was crashing very badly. that was about 2:00 AM, and what we found out was that everybody there were already wasted ;D

Yay, welcome :) And while the prod has its flaws (which will be ironed out the next time), it's far from bad. The end scroller effect was _cool_

Welcome (back)! Nice ideas in this firstprod. But you know you have to improve and kick our asses in your next one :) Good soundtrack, but could have a more powerful production imho. Overall nice work guys ;)

I'm always a bit perplexed about products that cross over extremely pro and extremely amateur things.
- The engine is awesome (altho I guess it's a free thing), impressive to support various API's, but then again not fixing things like a little 1pixel border on the top/left is kinda like "dont tell me you didnt notice". Also did I just see the bubble in the water tank float in FRONT of the cylinder thingy outside the tank? :)
- Good amount of modelling and not bad textures either but everything is extremely streched, I could've counted the pixels on the floor. Just tile your textures - you can test the mapping with a checkerboard texture.
- Music was nice but underproduced. If you're adding guitars (which is great!), at least aim for a Mustaine-esque midrange mayhem, just take an EQ and boost up the midrange. Also, this might help a bit for boosting up your dynamics.

All in all it's a fair first try, but I guess one have to go thru measles once in their lives.

sole, the guys had printed some "what to do when debug build works and release doesn't" tutorials for reading them at the plane...
added on the 2005-11-09 21:23:02 by winden winden
i guess it's goodish for a first try but all in all very mediocre, so piglet
+ some effect
+ many good stuff
+ good idea
+ good music

- texture and model ain't good
- buggy

To our regret, this demonstration has a lot of bugs. (ex, frame buffer, envmap)
However, there were a lot of good stuff.
good luck on your scene life.:)

Ogre-based demo? Hey that sucks ass. What will be next? QuakeEngine-based demo? Unreal 3 Engine-based demo? This is no demoscene. This sux.

no thumb down only due to the fact it`s a debut.. but really, it was rather poor. in fatal need of improved graphics..

Oh come on. There is no reason to write your own engine if there is another FREE mature and farly well documented engine out there that perfectly suits your needs. The engine (if there is one at all :)) is only a small part of the whole demo anyway.

It is not too bad. Just don't expect anything fancy. Cool music too. Oinker from me. The file size was big though.

Thumbs up for the music, the exploding bubble-figures, and the... well, there was some nice music and it ran in 16x10 resolutions (albeit with a white line on the left and top edge).

Actually, it was nearly all simple 3D effect rendering. It held my interest though, and they had a good 2D picture, so thumbs up

you did a great job on the music, and there quite a few good scenes (see screenshot, for example), and i particularly liked the idea of the greets. nice firstprod.
the bugs or "features" are the ogre system's fault. :)
