This is a nice mellow demo for 'chillin out. It is almost beautiful, but the drab textures hurt the look.

I'm feeling dead.
This demo rocks.
Sometimes it could have been more detailed tho. Just to make me even more dead.

This is great! The sound fits the visuals, although I do not think the demo would have suffered from more music.

Only the aliasing was disturbing sometimes, but maybe I should try to fiddle with my gfx card settings.

All the ADD suffering kids are thumbing this down again, obviously. Are we judging skill, the message or personal taste here?

The music didn't work at all here, the visuals were nice, it just seemed to be somewhat unfinished for a fr production, I'll wait and see if there is a fix for the music before I vote.

I want to give a thumb up for the amazing visuals, but as a demo it was very boring and the popping and clicking soundtrack really got on my nerves.

I'll leave it at a pig.
I think it had to be my nvidia, but the visuals were really ugly

No doubt, ps music.. but with great graphics and design, and concepts. I liked it.
rulez added on the 2005-03-28 13:44:46 by yero yero
once again, farbrausch releases a very different demo from what they usually do. at least a thumb up for trying to do new things.

i liked the calm feeling, but the 3d could have been better. like Stelthz said, the music fits, but it could have been just a little bit more..

(aliasing would be greatly reduced if i could run this and all other fr-prods in my tft's native res, 1280x1024 (which is 5:4) or 1280x960 for 4:3 =) )

Very surprising prod! Calm atmosphere, hq textures : the renewal of Visualice. Good prod. after all! Even if werkkzeug3 needs some improvements (seems too jerky).
rulez added on the 2005-03-28 16:51:06 by daddyvx daddyvx

Visualice graphics are the saving grace (ish).

Other than that, static scenes, overlong camera sweeps, token filters, low framerates (for the content, I was expecting at least rock solid 50fps), music that is a question mark (I wonder if it played correctly or this is just it).. In other words, the usual fr production style and values after the excellent 'popular demo' ...

Something I missed in this demo....i dont know, maybe too long and simple scenes and sleepy music didn´t hit the target. Stiil cannot givi this a "suck"... so piggie...

Music is noisy.
but this demo is rox.
rulez added on the 2005-03-28 17:13:23 by got got
as long as there is no recommended pc configuration in the readme, i have to add that it ran rather slow ( with 5-or-less-fps - like movement updates ), while keeping pretty decent framerate of 30-50 (1024x768).
At resolution of 800x600 it ran a bit faster ( movement-wise ) but still had some flaws.
p4 2.4 here.

The (lack of) transitions in the beginning seems at bit odd. The windows->sky scene is simply beautiful - like only Visualice can do it. The rest is a bit so-so.

I liked it, and I don't consider this 'typical visualice' stuff, but then again, everything Visualice ever does is called 'teh same' anyway. No it's not a technical demo. You're allowed to make whatever the f* you want in the scene. Now go make a demo yourself or something. (I'm allowed to be a hypocrite, I'm on BP05 withdrawal)
I see in this production an effort to reflect kubrick's approach to 2001. Several interesting ideas and implementations exist but seem to have been somewhat hastly executed. I would like to think that this release bears the seeds of things to come.

It's a bit sickening that so many sceners are just out for that next new eye candy, expecting the next pink bubble gum demo from FR when productions like this one tend to offer so much more space for interpretation and approach the viewer at a much finer grained level. I _especially_ liked the PS tune and I especially liked that this demo was _not_ what I would expect from visualice. We must not forget that technology is just the means by which our visions can be realized and it's not always about technology any more those days. Just look over at the Amiga plattform.
Probably the deepest demonstration from FR yet.
rulez added on the 2005-04-02 21:38:58 by Paralax Paralax
I still can't like it, though I've given it a good chance and watched it a few times, seems that the music was meant to be that way.

It's great to see FR trying out new things and some of the effects are really beautiful but I can't be doing with the soundtrack at all which I first thought must have been because of a corrupted download, or even as a gag.

Maybe it's just too abstract for my taste, no thumb down though because of the nice code and having the balls to try out something new with the music.

Maybe I liked this because seeing all these comments about it being slow, I was expecting something like the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Which I sorta got, although a lot more sedate, and with better music. (Except that darn pinging noise!)
Overall, it seemed to be the least Visualice-like Visualice demo... none of the characteristic women with large noses and mournful eyes. And the general ambience was very unlike the Farbrausch I know (.the.product, poemtoahorse, the.popular.demo,e.t.,theta)
rulez added on the 2005-04-03 02:32:32 by crusader crusader
maybe this is a good moment to realise, that farbrausch exists of different creative people. farbrausch has always been about creative freedom and there have been so many different directors over the years (way, cp, gizmo, yoda, visu, paniq, me - and also ryg, kb and chaos etc.), hence the different styles. so i really wonder what 'the' farbrausch style is supposed to be.

I think this demo lacks a single element that would have made for me its atmosphere stellar: Actual background noises in addition to the soundtrack, such as field recordings. By this I mean for example a strong wind noise in the scene with the stenciled woman zoom. Things like that would have connected strongly the visuals and the ambient track.

As it is now, you only get a few intermittent connections from the soundtrack to the visuals (those clicks) but nothing in the other direction.

it has an interesting start but later the scenes becomes too isolated. i am too stupid to see a rocket launching in this demo, and i have seen better ones in even tomb raider 3. this one violates many physics laws as far as i see. and it is the only part that is "afterlife". the soundtrack is nice but too scratchy to be listened with earphones.

on the whole it is ok i think.

strange, mellow and adult, interesting feelings about the death
(too few polys in models, a little bit too short)

while a totally dig the soundtrack the design kills it for me. these steril semi scifi and game like visuals mashed up with a photo and an illustration is as coherent (and tasteful) as currywurst with champagne. they dont evoke any emotion in me ... which is damn sad, since the music goes so well with the concept.this could have been so much more with the right visuals. piggy, though.

I don't understand it and "music" from ps is driving me insane. Spoiler, anyone?

this is beautiful.
the sync are a little different from beat-metronome,everytime i watch it,it seriously grows on me,i dont know why, maybe im excatly kinda guy that catch cold on these style of demos easily.
ps:i like ur xperimentals more in this way which could are futher possible for gfx to visulize them, imagine the scenes, design cams, etc. altho narrative much it still exist a huge space for aftering passed lifes..:)

i like the mood in some parts but i dont think everything fits together that well.. but the music is one of my favorite demo musics on pc.. (from the ones i know of, of course;) so how can i do different than thumbing this one up!

Überboredom and the soundfxmusicartsyfartsy what's its name ruins even the boring mood.
But perhaps this was exactly what they had in mind.
blergh....

just watched it again for the first time since BP05. and my opinion hasn't changed much. while i really like ps's soundtrack and sure dig some of the scenes, this one still has enough major design and camera flaws to it down to mediocre. too bad. but as we know now: there's life after 'life after'.

okaish 3d and nice graphics (from visualize) that saved the demo.

Soso demo... some scenes were very nice (eg the girl in the room) other scenes felt quite dull.

it would be even more relaxing even that annoying clicking noise would not be on the soundtrack. anyway....

haunting, even with some of the rough edges, like strange linear movement without acceleration, this might be one of most delicate directorial works visualize ever made; the glacial is perfectly married to the wistful chords in ps' soundtrack

the old comments are also quite a hoot, lol
