best tool ever!
Warning, this tool was(is?) a commercial tool, made by demomakers yes, but not freeware.
It exists some different versions, i know v1.1 and v2.0 wich have some new features. Special vector editors and extra disk exists as 3rd party disks.
It is a cool tool but it crash quickly, i used it lots of time!

Zone: they are not supporting amiga for ages now, they are not selling it nor any amiga software.
Btw... mea culpa... I forgot to include TCC as 2nd group.

the good old times... *sniff*
your english is so bad Zone, I just cant believe it :)
Bad enough to fuel plek's arguments

Keops : stop whining about my english, i did not speak fucking english, i speak an international language with no rules to be understanded by majority of people, if you prefer i'll speak Czech? :)
Yeah you do that, you miseducated piece of trash. Let's put 'em back behind that curtain..
damn, why did I mention plek, I woke the (anti-french) beast from sleep!!!
Look who`s talking. Miseducated is not an english word...it`s called uneducated.
I'm not anti-French, in fact, I would get married with Stil or Ak if they weren't men!

SHUT UP YOU FUCKING GODDAMN RETARD! :)
Don't try to make a point when you're just not smart enough.
Much more original than Workzeug1 by Chaos/Sanity on the PC. Tis is the true pioneer under demo-makers!!
How dare you compare something like this to true (albeit a tad pragmatic and naturally flawed) effort, you blind prick.
I dare because it's a free world in which we have a freedom of speech ;-)
Freedom of retardedness, obviously. Just like your pal 'zplex'.
Yeah and he drew me some funny action figures with tiny penises and a weak spot for Linux; that sure turns me on!
Nice Remembering !
Next step : Shoot'em up Construction Kit :p

:-)
God damn, i have been misplekked :(
I remember using this one for hours... I never understood how to completely use it because my low level of english when I was 10, but it was so fun, I suppose it was my first approach to the demoscene world. I loved the 3d objects with blobs...
<3 RSI!
Demomaker is not a crime!!1
wooooooooo
Had a lot of fun with it :D
as Virgill
a lot ot fun !!!
a lot ot fun !!!
had much fun with it
ooh, plek, can you do sth else then bitchin' around all the time, please??
No I can't.
The File linked above seems to contain some DataBecker product called "Demo Mania" or "Demo Maniac" by some group calling themselves "Black Legend".
Anyway... RSI Demomaker rules...
Anyway... RSI Demomaker rules...
demomakers will kill the demoscene.
fiver2 \o/
jfanque: you are right. i just checked it. TRSI demomaker is crap. but the link points to Demomaniac, which is much more advanced, made by argon and crash of polka brothers.
Remember this one pretty well, and I give it thumbs up for all the fun I had with it.
those where the times... we did all our demos using this one!
Classic tool.
just for the record, after chaos' comment i hacked together an adf containing the actual rsi demomaker, so the link is more or less correct. (if someone provided me with an original disk image, it would be even more correct.)
I have never tried it out but the idea of the demotool shows how far ahead of its time RSI was.
coolest thing were the sample sources they had
stored in some of the directories...
that was my first reading contact ro asm even though
I had no clue about a single line back then :D

Hooray! This is where all the new hardcore stuff came from ... many, many legendary coders resourced and used these routines incl. Azatoth, Celebrandil, Chaos, Hannibal, Laxity, The Spy, etc. ... right? :-)
anybody thumping this classic hystorical piece of amiga software down, should be hung, drawn and quarted... it doesnt matter if this good, bad or a demomaker, its history,... just like protracker or dpaint.
Just kidding
My "first steps" in the demoscene, not counting a few BASIC demos for the C64. :-) I thought it was amazing when I was 10.
This is a demomaker. A good demomaker.
a classic... i still have the original disks from data becker.
bring back memories!
fab' tool!
oh love !
i actually bought this shit back then :(
@tEIS: Bought it too. :o) The only good product ever from Data Becker. ;o)
Ups, forgot the thumb.
Thumb up for giving the world hundreds of "demos" that have the same basic objects and color sets as the demomaker defaults... :D
I've a feeling i might have bought this too. It sucked, but it ruled to for all of us who couldn't code :)
Remember local lamers making stuff with it
Even as a little kid, I remember thinking: "Hang on... if you make something with this, then by definition, it's not a demo, is it?"
Of course, I still made crappy 'demos' with scrolltexts and vectorballs with it anyway -- it might not have produced good results but it was fun to play with on a dull Sunday afternoon :)

Best demo tool ever of course :D
:)
rulez
i still have this somewhere in original packaging

Crappy code in the "tool" itself and also in the "demos" it produced.
I was a local lamer at the time making stuff with it. Fun for a night or two.
I also heard about some tv-station making scrolltexts with this for years.

The only good Data Becker product was Amiga Intern!
A good concept. Why not. It was up to you what you were supposed to do with it.
And, of course, haters gonna hate. Also those who had a small idea about design and coding something really nice and good-looking.

Yep, best demo tool ever! I created lotsa demos with in in early 90s with friends! We even made a competition who will create the best demo in demomaker, nice stories to tell there. Great 90s Amiga times! Data Beckers Demomaker by Red Sector, oh yeah! Rulez of course! :)
Why? For the money? I would have liked it more if Delta had put his energy into another demo. Anyway, nice toy for those who were needy with respect to their coding skills. If I remember correctly, the handling of the program was straight-forward, but it would have been a big plus if one had had the option to use own Gfxs for the effects; or was that possible?
Moreover, I remember that Delta mentioned and thanked Promax for a trick that allowed him to allocate some extra memory. What did Delta mean by that and what is that for trick? And Stingray (2015-03-08), what do you mean by "crappy code"?

@ROG_VF: If I remember correctly its was possible to load you own GFX into the demomaker.
@gaspode (2020-12-21): Okey-dokey. Thanks for the hint. And keep up your nice work!
What a great product this is! I always loved the demoscene and this tool made it possible for me to create some kind of 'demo' in summer 2020 for my friends(who don't have much knowledge of demoscene in general ;-) )
It was a hell of a job however to use such ancient UI and be able to import graphics in right format to use ;-) I used emulator on PC to create it, but of course the end products run on my real AMIGA!!
Curious? Here's a not-so-great video-capture, but texts are in dutch ;-) https://youtu.be/uC8ob-sxEu8
Great shoutout to Red Sector inc. to make a dream come true ;-)

@ROG_VF: YES this is possible! But you need the manual for this product. There's a IFFConverter on the disk with which you can grap specific part of your picture, but the size to capture must be byte perfect to work!
320x158(biglogo) en 320x54(little logo); in the iff converter you've to look at the size of bitplanes: BIGLOGO: BITPLANE= 18B0 TOTAL= 062C0 ;
for little logo: BITPLANE= 0870 TOTAL= 021C0
Also you can load your own blobs, sprites, fonts etc. Really nice product!
