it should have won demo compo.
rulez added on the 2004-05-27 19:28:12 by kimi kardashian kimi kardashian
it would have won if they had released it in the compo where it belongs -> real wild

its a pegasus demo and dont has anything to with a amiga.
anyway its very nice and so far their best production (and it was better than all the pc demos there ;)

if this would be a pc prod it would be called a boring flyby. go figure.

anyway i really liked it, especially the sound. still, TBL did magic once again so i think they should be happy anyway :D

Even on pc, this would be a fucking great demo. Secondly, your definition of 'flyby' seems to be incompatible with mine. :)

This utterly lacked brilliance. Sorry can't say much more, it felt insipid, dull like an empty shell. Good material as always, but no soul.

very good
if this would be a pc demo...but it isnt.
thx god.

A pegasos demo? Where is the challenge? Its like a slow PC. I bet they could port it to windows in the matter of a few hours - but then they'd have real competition..

hmm... wasn't quite as good as i remembered. still has some really cool parts but on the whole it's rather average.

and i also think it was in the wrong compo. mac compo would have probably been the closest one as the hardware is quite similar... or then just the real wild.
added on the 2004-05-27 22:50:16 by raymon raymon
i also wouldn't count pegasos as an amiga.
and

the demo "is ok"

Has some very cool elements, I can't seem to grasp - is it software or hardware based? If it's software, it kicks ass like there's no tomorrow - well to some extend anyway :)

Nice visuals, the music is a little too repetitive for me though. Even though it's nice to see scorpik at it once again in a demo.

it's NOT software

My favourite mawi demo without doubt. Great work!

Quite great. But what the fuck is it doing in the Amiga demo compo?
rulez added on the 2004-05-28 18:59:23 by wad_ wad_
is amiga !
rulez added on the 2004-05-28 21:16:55 by krabob krabob
Dudes.. DOn't forget MaWi is an AMIGA group for ALOT of years now.. Pegasos is an extension to amiga a logical step for MaWi after numerous PPC prods.. Anyway read the review of this demo at: www.geocitites.com/magicnah/magicnah.html
rulez added on the 2004-05-28 21:35:26 by magic magic
I don't think so, Magic. If the Pegasos is an "extension" to the Amiga, then you might as well say that the Amiga is an "extension" to the C64.
added on the 2004-05-28 22:04:18 by wad_ wad_
I remember liking it during the democompo.
rulez added on the 2004-05-28 22:15:38 by ithaqua ithaqua
Wad: The Amiga never ran any C64 software.
You sure about that?

ftp://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/misc/emu/MagiC64.lha

Same principle as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps not ALL of the hardware is emulated, but I think I've at least made my point.
added on the 2004-05-28 23:38:57 by wad_ wad_
of course Amiga can evolve too if Pc can

Wad: Thank you, I've run Magic64. It's a C64 emulator, released ten years after the Amiga. The Pegasos has been able to run Amiga software since the start, its OS was even dependent on AmigaOS when it was first developed on regular PPC Amigas.
I'm not arguing that the Pegasos be a real Amiga, but your C64 analogy is just ridiculuous (because, as we all know, the true ancestor of the Amiga is the Atari XL/XE).
May I turn against my own group and the recent thumbs... imho this is not a good MaWi demo. Sorry folks.
sucks added on the 2004-05-29 03:32:05 by tomcat tomcat
Come on guys, you can't stop progress from happening even in da scene! Besides its a good production anyway! I understand people stand after their brand of computer even when the computer evolves into something they cant stand behind but respect the freedom of choice of other groups! Thank you for your attention..
added on the 2004-05-29 09:04:31 by magic magic
nice experience but... pegasos isn't amiga anymore. so pouet's freaks - add new platform category...

Where's the Video? :)
added on the 2004-05-29 12:57:57 by elend elend
Maybe this is not the place to discuss this, but Pegasos IS NOT an extension to Amiga. It's a PPC based machine with an OS (Morphos) which provides some kind of compatibility layer for Amiga software. No Morphos, no compatibility. You could install Linux on it, or QNX, and you would simply have a low cost PPC machine which doesn't have anything to do with Amiga at any level.
added on the 2004-05-29 13:07:30 by dixan dixan
Cool snowflakes effect(except for the black... thing from the girl's hand:) ) and the "object distorting the background in the variform style was cool". All effects are good looking sexy beings in my opinion. There seems to be a bit of programming behind these effects. The older mawi demos mostly played scenes done by the 3d men alone.

elend: clicking on download helps. ;)
added on the 2004-05-29 16:57:56 by tomaes tomaes
A video? And here I thought that this was a demo...
dixan: Most of Amigans consider Pegasos being a successor of Classic Amiga line. And compatibility is nearly the same as it was between Mac PPC and Mac 68k.

MaWi ppl: please, put an _EXE_ file and not DivX! Think about ppl that pay for traffic :((

kempy: that file is also too large (160Mb)... and one person who downloaded it reported that there were only video + some screenshots.

I find it ironic that people who screamed "amiga" during the ATI presentation are responsible for something that isn't amiga in the least. This is pretty much the same as calling an Xbox a PC.

Oh well, at least they stuck to what they do best -release nice demos for platforms only die-hards own.

gargaj, te most teljesen hulye vagy...
there isn't even a single flyby part in this demo!!!
and i must repeat, some parts are extremely sexy, and even the rest is above average.
i would be very happy if there were such demos on pc...

My favourite prod from the Amiga compo, even though it's completely foolish that PPC demos compete against 060 demos.

Do I get it correctly that there is no way I could get this to run on an Amiga4000 w. CyberstormPPC/CVPPC?
added on the 2019-09-23 18:36:46 by noname noname
Just to answer this year's old question. No, you won't be able to run this with a CVPPC. You need a MorphOS machine with a Voodoo3/4/5 or a card with some ATI R100/R200/RV2xx based chips to run this.
For me this works on my Amiga4000 with MOS 1.4.5 in a window only (use -old -win as argument). On my other MOS machines (3.16) it runs on fullscreen (use -old as argument).
