Expect a linux version in some days

Cool demo! I like more synchro but... a good production.
pretty good demo, some very cool elements, but unfortunately ruined by stuttering audio-playback - DON'T USE FMOD!
This has so much going for it. Well designed scenes, especially the opening scene. But the music ruins it for me. It kills the impact of the demo that it has such a bad (read: Boring) soundtrack. Looking 4ward to see more from you guys.
Good! Very nice art and modeling. Some interesting code aswell, but as said above, the experience is kind of ruined by the noised sound and lack of sync. The soundtrack itself i suppose was kind of okay
Yes, a lot of potential wasted, but actually, it's still pretty good.
i liked the music actually
very good start, but, i agree with the people opinions, the music have no enough level. (Come on spanish musicians!!)
It mostly ran like shit on my setup, even on the lowest settings. The music sounded ok, but didn`t seem to fit the visuals.
It did look quite nice, although everything was a bit too blurred.

Reboots my system after the scene with the red cylinder in the centre. Next time, please warn us about your poor coding skills so that I can save my work before running your demo.

nah :(
actually the demo starts very promising, but after a moment it became really boring, not only because of the boring soundtrack, imho there is also too much fog/noice in the whole demo...
with another soundtrack this could have been something :/

i won't be original...
really fine for everything but... change that music! ;)

Really good demo, also the music is atleast ok.
great artwork, cool 2d overlays
gloom: exactly, what in the hell has an established well-featured and fully functional audio library like FMOD to do with the playback problems as encountered in this production? next time, say something smarter :)
not going to run this now, perhaps another time :)

plek, i have encountered quite a few demos using fmod that had stuttering problems.. Maybe the audio buffers are set too low? (why would a demo require low latency audio is beyond me)
that's probably the problem at hand. cheap/crappy or completely batshit insane soundcards usually trip over small soundbuffers.
(plek used to scold me for using my digi card for demos, since it would chop like a lawnmower unless he upped the soundbuffer).
(plek used to scold me for using my digi card for demos, since it would chop like a lawnmower unless he upped the soundbuffer).
it's just a matter of balancing really :)
nice demo, i enjoyed it
wow! nice stuff =)
plek: actually fmod is the audio-playback system most people have problems with, you dutch know-it-all (who doesn't like beer, yeah, that's right people! ..oh, and he's also gay.. and visits his mother every sunday (after church))
..or something to that effect. :)
..or something to that effect. :)
Except for one demo with a really buggy player I never had stuttering sound in a demo or intro. And my SB card is also only a SB16 clone.
This demo rebooted my computer on the same place 3 times in a row so i havn't been able to see it yet, i like what i have seen so far though.
No thumb until i have seen the whole thing.

nice demo.
cool some effect and some stuff.
however, too short.

please more! :)
my computer rebooted, but the little i saw was nice!
plek: fmod doesn't give you and accurate timer. a 40hz timer is qute bad, and you can't really rely on QueryPerformanceTimer to be in sync with the audioplayback due to poor soundcards and/or drivers. Besides, I have had lot of troubles with fmod (computer-crashes in some modules on some fmod-versions etc, stuff running out of sync etc).
Fmod is not very good for demos. However, for games and such, I believe that fmod is one of the better alternatives. For demos, I prefer bassmod for modules and the ogg/vorbis libs + directsound for streamed music.
So... gloom is basicly right about the "DONT USE FMOD"-part. However, I didn't hear anything wrong with the music, but then again I'm not a musician.

nice demo, but the soundtrack is somewhat weak.
I had no problem with FMOD, and used it for some prods/tests (FMOD, miniFMOD, FMOD CE) w/o problem... but i heard so much complaints i'm starting to get suspicious... (and i'm still no musician :))
(...tho the only release we got actually problems about music playback was the one that used direct-crap instead of FMOD :)) )

kusma: i would only agree with "don't use fmod the way you do", you see :)
(and since when did i stop drinking beer and let the great love of Jesus into my life?, i've been waiting for that moment quite a while now! :-))

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!
Congrats :P
Congrats :P
Hmm.. I´m an available spanish musician :))
Call me now: 906... hahaha xD
I liked the first effect... tentacles octopus rulez!

I liked the opening scene but I didn't quite get how the rest had to do with that.. felt like a bunch of non-connected scenes or something.. dunno.. nice work anywas!
I liked specially the nice (but very appropiate) effects. They seem like photography techniques - so great. But that music made me feel down... it first looks like it is getting lots of energy but then stops and makes the rhythm down ... what a pity!
The overall impression is: GREAAAT!! (I knew rgba was going to win since the first time I saw the demo at the jury hall).
Guay! XDDD

rulante tio!
it's not my favourite style but it's a good job, very good
i liked it, the text didn't fit very well though. But the native linux version didn't run very well but the wine emulated windows version did.
ups, wrong prod. too many windows.
i agree with most ppl here. i like it but the music sounds a little, um.. cheesy? first 50 secs of the music is building up great, then it lose grip and become uninterresting
Who is that bastard enlar?
beautiful prod on geforces, too bad it makes my r9600p config reboot :/
at 4th scene (the one introduced by zoom-on-screen transition) if that could help rgba coder(s)...
Not my style, but definitely a lot of work went into making it, and it creates an atmosphere. Although not spectacular in any particular section, it's a good demo alltogether. Good job.
Congrats guys, you did it :D Next time we want the full RGBA posse @ BCN to relish the victory!
I only miss the pace going wild just after the tunnel+tentacled object part. I guess everybody expected that.
And the final logo part is sooo cool :)

Original and good filters, this prod r00lzs.
Very cool indeed! The blur effects are fantastic and give the 3d scenes a photorealistic look in places. Great work!
Quite slow paced for my taste, but the overall quality is astonishing
Really good, and i like the music too. Congrats rgba
Some goodthings, and some weird design choice in a couple of points which motivated a pig
kewl and very well prod, though i like another kind of demos; worths the download
well worked prod*
utopian: what does the directx debug runtime say?
amazing rendering and great effects
cool work, congrats
utopian: I'm not too interested in more reboots, but if you think you've fixed the bug, feel free to contact. :)
great prod guys :D
Quality, quality, quality ;)
is ok
Great prod, guys! I liked a lot the old school feeling of the music and FX on the credits part, combined with the new school style of most of the demo.
Thumb up!
Thumb up!
VEEEEERY COOL
problems on radeon? worked fine here. ati mobility radeon 9000 64Mb, catalyst 3.8, winxp.
or did you fix that? =)
or did you fix that? =)
Fine piece of art you got in there, guys. Jolly good work indeed.
crashed. radeon9000.
nice good, nice gfx, but horrible music...
The graphics are darn good, and the last scene with the little red cubes going about is a great idea and a brilliant execution of it. If only it was a little more fast paced.
4me, the best demo prod at BCNparty'11, the music not my special (has 0 force against the strenght of some parts)...btw loves that Splinter Cell smell, and some models and scenes are kinda superb! GREAT GREAT!
I wish all first productions were like this one. Looking forward to the next one being even better.
Wrong production, as you can guess.
Anyways, this one is worth a thumb up, although for other reasons =8-)

Some really nice rendering, and the breaking glass vial was cool. Beyond that, kinda empty.
Excellent, although I would've loved more 2d gfx and a stronger soundtrack. Code and 3d are amazing.
rulez
but the ending of that music heavily reminds me of ending of fr08's music ;) hmmmm... :D

very very neat .. but if i see that whirly thing with arms once more i shall puke all over the screen ... music really goes ... nicely wrapped up
YEZZZZZZ !!!
Great demo...nice textures...music was ok.
Some great ideas !

great demo! today i download new driver for my radeon9000 (catalyst 3.10!) and demo not crash. but, so slowly...... (1800, 256, r9000, xp).
wait for catalyst 51.9:)

rulez!
this is nice!
i like the overall design, although the colors and the realisation (on the coders' side) could be better..
and the speech at the and suxx :)

rgba is proud to release the final dual Linux/i386 and Windows of R.E.D..Also, one article about the making of is avaible in spanish at http://www.rgba.org
wooh the final version runs great! 3D & colors are so sweet =)
maybe the music is a bit cheap compared to the visual greatness :]

Great 3d scenes! Kudos for the linux support.
Nice one, music isn't that bad!
I wonder what the password for the archive is... :)

oh, very nice, i still stand by my last mistake thumb-up ;)
It looks very good from the few scenes that I managed to watch, however I get a lot of white screens and white quads around, so there might be some kind of texture problem....

Indeed worth watching! Great demo.
Good. I like the little touch of fading out instead of simply hard exiting on escape, BTW (I tried it in 640x480 first, but figured it would look a lot better in 1024x768) ;-) Pity about the extreme loading delays/hangs between the scenes, though.
Oh, and by the way: You appear to have major problems with your RTT code with ATI on Linux (FireGL drivers with Radeon 9600 Pro, same thing as Nuclear's reporting), no matter the resolution or fullscreen/windowed. It seems weirdly stretched or something, which more or less makes the demo unviewable. :-)
More OBTWs: Try adding "-Wl,-rpath ." to your linking stage, then you won't have to mess with lancher scripts and such.
Yeah.. fading out on escape is a nice touch.. we used it on eon as well.. but why on earth would you press Escape while watching rgba??? Sweet demo
utopian: I believe plain glCopyTexSubImage2D() is broken in the latest FireGL drivers. You may want to use pbuffers instead -- they're more flexible and faster as well. Drop me an e-mail if you need working code :-)
Nice Demo :)
No lags, no probs...
More synch please :)

oh, PLEASE.
thx gloom. Writting three times the same is also very lame ;)
Well done, but your knowledge of physics should be improved. ;)
Good music, nice gfx, up-to-date code... rulez
doesn't crash anymore on my radeon. nice one
Very stylish, another of my favorite demos.
Beautiful and stylish.
nice 3d show
nice 1st scene direction and rendering
Awesome Design!!
Nice 3D scene with realistic models of a lab. The abstract objects had some not so good textures. Liked the credits scene. Music OK.
Good story and visuals.
Nice graphics and overall impression, music suffers a bit - and the whole plot or style wasn't really for me... But keep it up!
Some nice visuals here. Music is decent.
Small thumb up.
Pequeño thumb uppa.
Pretty solid.
one of the first demos i saw
still nice
still nice
too cheesy
Not sure if this is the ideal demo to watch during a pandemic.
