Medium v2.0 or something. :)
would have been nicer in 64 kb ... but rules anyway
What Nytrik said.
Like medium, but (for some odd reason) less interesting. The music was a killer at the partyplace.
the music was not to my taste, nor was it any good. the whole demo was just too boring/uninventive.
nice visuals. got boring at some point though.
fucking excelent! :)
nicey.
looks and sounds pretty.
i"m not a fan of the transition cliches, but that's still a very nice demo.

damn hot
innovative soundtrack, music sync should be better... i liked medium much more
For the platform incompability.
Maybe I enjoyed this one more the second time, but it's cool :)
arneweisse, "plaform incompatibility"?
Sweet design. Clearly the best demo so deserved to win.
i like it.
It doesn't really appeal to my regular tastes, but I can see that it's a very good demo and has some interesting visuals and synchronization.
yeah, i had the weird association with medium too only a bit more blurry.. :P Prolly the vivid colours make the association.
It's a nice demo in overall and not a visu-demo as i would have expected from FR since visu joined them... Lovely, keep going! :)

fucking excellent
I didn't like the music, but the demo has style and near perfectly executed
very nice
high level, abstract synchonized visualz on a great muzak, nothing bad to say, all is really perfect
Back to Black? It really made me think of fr-06: black 2000 and while the visuals are interesting and the sync is spot on the music wasn't really my taste. Maybe it'll grow on me over time but i think i have to give it a piggy for now.
very german. very farbrausch. very mindcandy. i want werkzeug for my birthday. (too late for xmas)
ryg: has stefan _ever_ known what he was talking about? :)
ryg: has stefan _ever_ known what he was talking about? :)
nice...big plus: ran on the old crappy riva tnt i have in my box right now. good work.
big but fast as hell and excellent high class visuals and music ...
thanks guys
thanks guys
I still love the Farbrausch style!
rulez
schon.
paniq´s soundtrack simply rocks. the idea of on-time-sync isn´t really new, but shown in a quite cool way in this production. very stylish.

Me likes this very much but no thumbs up since it's one of our own.
Ok. Very nice ideas, but the rythm of the demo is a bit messy. Like Aleen I find that it's close the black demo series, plus a nice medium (Red and Blue) touch.
The visuals are impressive ! ( especially liked the particle perturbed-room scene ).
But the music didn't got me in, sorry ...
Thumbs up anyway, for the eye-pleasure it gave me ... :)

this is a demo which would probably rule so so so so so so much at a party, on the big screen and with a bad-ass sound system... but watching it at home was pretty much non-exciting. The visuals are technically impressive, but not my taste, and the music, although well done for its style, needs a very defined mood to really enjoy it.
Thus, only based on my personal taste (which noone has to agree to), it's a piggy. I'll let the thumb available just in case I can watch it in a different mood which suits me better (or, why not, put it on my bigscreen and phat soundsystem at my office). So let's call this a "piggy with a future possibility of thumbs up". Very much worth the download anyway, and I do recommend everyone to, at least, watch it, and, if possible, enjoy it :)

Really like the feeling in this one. Nice music and really darn good looking visuals. Nice going!
"platform incompability", I guess lator/stefan/whatever wan'ts to see this on a Mac?

The visuals are astonishing. Something new.. Music could be better.. for me a bit too experimental boom boom. The finish is GREAT.. would have been great to have more of the kindof music that was at the end..
Cheers! great combination of FX (glow, enviros, mesh noises, bones?¿). great sinch with music and pretty damn effective cameras. btw that first tree with camera movement reminds me a bit this old demo of mine Choose great demo guyz!!!!!
to quote cp:
thats exactly the same what i am thinking. medium is somehow really different. as "a deepness in the sky" by mfx was released it reminded me more of medium.
not this one.

it's strange to see people comparing it to medium because i didn't think of that demo once

this is by all means a GREAT demo. style, sync, music, sparkling graphics. But i leave my thumbs be for two reasons. first, it was terribly slow (about 10 fps) on my gf-fx5200 + 1,8 ghz. and secondly, i was kind of disapointed by the lack of originality and artwork here (for a farbrausch prod). Fr has done way better prods in the past, this was kinda lets-throw-together-some-bad-ass-code-jam-and-sync-it-like-a-real-disco... which can be a killer at the big screen but didn't quite fetch me in my chair with the headset. But keep going farbrausch!
it´s not slow. runs fine on my machine (1,4 Ghz, Geforce2, 1024x768). and the demo itself rulez.
sorry... my mistake. No it isnt slow :) just my system that was messed up at the moment i ran it. Yes, its a good prod, but from farbrausch i expect more than good ;).
I'm not sure if it's just sloppishly made or deliberately abstract, but the "textures" look a bit silly. It's certainly *not* bad as demos go, but I'm not going to party naked on account of it.
I liked Medium quite a bit better.
can't understand all the medium comparisons at all, this reminds me of Poem to a Horse if anything ...
Medium was much more abstract and raw, maybe it's tje reds and the sparks ... sheesh
Medium was much more abstract and raw, maybe it's tje reds and the sparks ... sheesh
If the animation had been far more aggressive, this would have been a good demo.
even tho it looks like their 64k's, the music alone makes me want to thumb it up :) and and add me to those who could see the medium-resemblance :)
well done guys!
well done guys!

another good fr prod.
I must admit this is not quite what I was expected when downloading. (Not that it really matters what I expect.) Pretty damn cool.
The trees reminded me of this demo: http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=7420
If I had to bitch whine complain about one thing it would be the all too common scene habit of sticking everything in dead center. At this point I must confess to taking some cinematography course earlier in my life, so I probably look at frame composition with a more critical eye than most. But still, to me Moppi Productions is the only group that put significant thought into framing
All the same, this is a radical gnarly boss demo.

After downloading it again it worked...also the zip-file size was different from the first one.
I like most fr prods but this one was not my taste and the music was annoying =(

paniq: I suppose I have a good sound system.. :-) I especially bought a amplifiers and speakers for my computer to compose music.. it's not that I don't like your music. I'm a regular requestor of Ulysergum at scenemusic.net...
The end of the tune is THAT THAT nice.. watched it again.. I wished the whole tune had more of that chord progression things in it..
I mean techno doesn't mean there mustn't be chord progressions.. :-)

paniq: medium is good to know http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=4771 - tough, in my opinion it doesn't really resemble your demo.
Hehe.. Kick-Ass Great Demo... and nice Soundtrack :) But more Tracks like "FR-025 Style" ... this one was da Best *gg*
and btw, where is the Tune available for download? ;)
Größten Respekt muss ich sagen :)

paniq: Dead center creates a dead frame. This can be useful in a "moment of silence" or end of a work, but during times of motion it is not the best way to visual place an object on screen. I can easily think of many moments in this demo where ancient concepts such as "rule of thirds" would've helped tremendously.
For example, you have that space ship moving about in most scenes. Offsetting that with whatever it's flying around would create a much greater sense of depth. Dead center elimates depth completely.

Actually, even the screenshot above is a good example. If you cover up the left one third the remaing image begins to look more lively. The dynamic of the "ship" moving towards the object is more pronounced. Subtle, but that's what good cinematography is all about.
And I'll tell you one thing I really liked: The flag stones (or whatever) were not flat and even. They were all crooked and stuff. That's a nice touch.
Just call me optimus...
Just call me optimus...
Herr Ritter ich muss ihnen sagen, sie rocken!
almost perfect :> on reflection it was ... superb colours, light and forms ... and such precise sychronizaiton with sound (oh please please extract the music and save us having to rip it)
realy nice stuff! :) I enjoyed this.
Well, I can appreciate the work that went into this (and that it has a 16x10 mode for my laptop! Yay, now two demos that take advantage of widescreen!) but it's not my thing. It's very German übertechnoish. And what's with the German colorscheme: Black, blue, red and purple? Whee! All in all pigface.
i liked this prod, as most of fr prods, alot... you can tell the musican and the visual artist worked together on this. and ofcourse paniq was successfull in giving the tune a midi miliz style (and i like midi miliz alot too :)
so...
so...
They Did It Again
farb-rausch = Design
farb-rausch = Design
it's worthless - and again, it wouldn't deserve any comments. but although i should have learned better, i can't hold it this time: the people who made this obviously lack the slightest idea of composition in every single dimension being used or missused. and the "nice interpretation" is: you don't have the slightest talent. you should better stop doing this, it's annoying.
The best I've seen in months
it's not my favorite style for demos, but this one - rule
ups, style of demos
Its ok but popular demo is miles better. if there was dancing people in this one it would be cool!
paniq: keep cool, if pouet is not the place where anyone can freely say his opinion about thre releases, where is it? :)
if it's his opinion, ok. if all ppl had the same opinion, this would be the borg-collective.
if it's his opinion, ok. if all ppl had the same opinion, this would be the borg-collective.
awesome visuals
paniq: either that, or he's very bitter about getting 2nd place :)
good one. but not outstanding demo by Farbrausch.
noize: well, atleast this demo works on radeon cards :)
a_lee_N : What a poor comment .... I really think that the kolor demo is mor finished and contain obviously more graphical work .
Env map is the easiest thing to do when you don't want / don't have time / don't know how to do proper mapping.
To me env map is alway supicious :)

It's a nice demo. Nice and clean psy trance track (must have rocked at the party) and the visuals worked ok. It only feels like something is missing, to really kick the wow factor.
This looks like medium in the sense that both demos are red-blue-white on black and synced to dance music (although medium used house). Apart from that, they are obviously alot different.

crap... boring and ugly
nytrik: well, my comment of this demo is further up in this thread. What's good looking and not is clearly a subjective matter and pleasing everybody is not an easy (if not an impossible) task, but farb-rausch usually manages to please the better half of the crowd and they have good hardware compatibility.
If you checked the poll at scene.org some time ago that asked what graphic cards people use/intend to get, ATI got 59.1% while NVIDIA only got 37.6% so I find it somewhat ignorant to release stuff that only works on NVIDIA-cards, and even more disturbing that they don't even care to fix it for the final. If people want to use shader-stuff in their demos, they should atleast make it work on all cards that support it.

great code+design+visuals, music killed the demo
I found it quite boring.
IMHO, visuals are nice, music is not.

nice colorscheme, something new at last. =)
suits me
cp, you need to add more shit to your prods, as in einschlag.. this is way to prety, we know you can do better.
Looks strange but not really good to me.
Confusing somehow.
Confusing somehow.
Impressive as always, but nothing new either.
*gjesp*
I might be old fashioned but I can't understand why it is 11mb big? Still, kinda very cool demo.
i really hate to see the bashing going on here between lthe 1st and 2nd ranked prods - i enjoyed both and found them visually and musically pleasing (i wonder why people ramble about paniq's track, i must say it really accompanies the presented visuals well and creates a certain mood, just good stuff imho).
the whole display adapter vendor support thing is merely a detail, not something to endlessly trip over, certainly not if, like the kolor guys gracefully did, admitted that it was a matter of production focus (very understandable, it's more fun to spend the little spare time you have on building an actual demo than writing several codepaths for an engine (which should be redundant, but thats another discussion, really)); disappointment is okay, bashing people over it continuously is just plain boring.
back to the subject; both demos were quite different, but i really can't say that one is better than the other; it surprises me that people present their opinions as a fact a little too much to my liking, since as a_lee_n already stated, taste in these kind of things is so to say, 'fucking subjective'.
where i wanted to go: both are obviously productions with a solid quality level, each with their very own direction. either like or dislike, but as opposed to a *lot* of productions here (totally indiscriminately in respect to who they come from) i think it's unfair to say that either one is crap.
oh well.. uhh. yeah, i'll get back to the beer now :)

not my taste but smooth as hell! (as usual)
Paniq: the music is fantastic! Overall a very interesting and entertaining demo, deserves a lot of thumbs-up.
As usual I'm gushing over Paniq's tune. The demo itself isn't bad but may be a tad too random art for me to actually know what to do with it.
something new.
i like.
good job.
i like.
good job.
chaos: I found a bug, if check windowed in start panel and move the demo-window I get a "Fatal Error" with the text "alt tab error"
seen better releases. this ONE is not outstanding :/
nice visuals, nice sound, nice flow, nice everything
i found it odd that people call it generic, to me this is one of the most well done and good looking farbrausch demos to date.
i sort of feel a slight resemblance to fr-03, RunAwayResponsibleRemix, and to Medium as well... just with more glow :)
the music is great, especially the "orchestral" string part around 4:20, altho it doesn't remind me of goa... it's more like techno i guess, at first i thought it was a ronny track :)
oh yeah, the alt-tab bug is really annoying, please fix that :) and add always on top too :)

It's a smasher!
Great visuals and I'm starting to think the music fits it quite well, too. The clean graphics could have fit better with cleaner music.
definite party demo, i wish i would've seen this one on the big screen. works still pretty well on a monitor, too. overused high saturated / contrasted colors work surprisingly well and are refreshingly different from the current mainstream. on the other hand all this flashy, glowing, glittering look is already overused. but heck, what am i complaining about when i still enjoyed watching this demo quite much.
damn FR! please slow down ! each time you release a major demo it becomes my all-time favorite ! it's really disturbing for my believing i'm not easily influenced :p
bah. crap... tron2.0 style in an ugly way. boring synchs + music. not my taste.
sleek design, nice flow, music is not my cup of tea, but that's my problem.
nice one. I liked the style, the visuals weren't groundbreaking perhaps but they were still plenty cool enough. Music was excellent too, but maybe not pushing the limits hard enough for my tastes (although i was really into this stuff some time back :)
paniqs music=rulez shit!
and the visuals fit to the sound!
what more do you want?

Farbrausch could've done it better.
I guess I've seen worse flybys. The music was decent and the visual style was ok. They just could've been used so much better..
rulez rulez rulez!!!
really strong demo, with interesting things wich are perfectly done, i trully enjoyed that one.

Abstract 3D with no sense but nice shapes/colors/reflexions... End of 90's demo-design revival ?
Scenes swap quickly, it's not boring at all to watch. Nice work !

At last a good fr production... phew
this demo is the definition of good style.
yeah, stylish!
ronny: yeah that's why it was so suspicious :)
I dont like this prod :/ its not my style.. But the sync is really great. I think music can be improved!
thumbs up
Liked the concept
but the music is quite average !!

Rocks the spot. The visuals are great but the music is fantastic, very well produced.
"alt tab error" in windowed mode when i try to move the demo-window :/
the demo however is nice.

loved this demo. music is great, overall look and feel of the production is really cool.
something fresh, something new, i just love it.

I'd love to have the soundtrack =)
Anyways, watching this in a dark room with a kickass soundsystem just rules!
The visuals and halo effects are pretty neat.
My only complaint: 11mb!!?!?!?! What the hell takes up all that space =P

I remember that there was some kind of demo making program for Amiga called: "Demo maker". So this demo (I suppose) is some kind of 'creation' made with such util... and we all know how we used to call that peoples back then :->
beside this is not so different than a simple slideshow.
Just look at it! Beside all latest FR demos have very similar look and feel!
I must emphasize two demos:
art director - visualice - gave to FR-31 demo great graphics and good 'art' direction...
and Fiver2 done absolute GREAT job with FR-25: t h e . p o p u l a r . d e m o)
but all new demos from FR are very similar... I don't see any point in making demos with 'demo maker program' !
long live fiver2 and chaos!

werkkzeug is the editor for one of our (farbrausch) demosystems. you don't seriously expect us to stop using our own code, do you?
and i don't exactly get how you can whine about "all new demos from FR" being very similar and in the same paragraph saying how much you liked our two previous demos either.

calimero: You are an idiot.
FR-Products look like similar? bahh.. every single Demo from FR rules... but FR-025 was more than great... Hope this Piece will win at the Scene Awards in the Best Demo, Best Soundtrack and Best Effecs categories ;) - And this one is also really great and absolutly ruling :)
I don know how werkkzeug look like but if you have visual 3D util for creting demos - than every person can create demo using this tool and you can produce 10, or more, demos per months and all of them would be at average quality, just like this FR-36 is!
Look, I do like FR-25 and FR-31, more than that - there are masterpiece! ...maybe FR-32 is also quite interesting :) ... but they are far better than FR-36 or ... and all FR demos have same look and feel - as you said 'you don't seriously expect us to stop using our own code, do you?' this is main point: maybe because of this all yours latest demos look similar, no mather who done graphics or who was art director (someone have more talent or skill - so demos look great)...
...anyway you have best coders - but go futher!
or maybe I live in past... I watched how borders vanishing from screen in Atari ST demos... take a look at http://www.cpu.lu/ulm/techtalk.html ...
Plase! I maybe was to rush but I think that:
FR-36 is a step back in comparasion to FR-25 and FR-31!

The point of a demo-tool like this is to seperate the work of coders and designers and to accelerate the demo development. The coders develop the tools and leave the design and direction to the gfx'ers. This makes the dev process of a demo a more efficient and flexible one. And yes, this means everybody could do a demo with 'werkzeug', but that does not reduce the effort behind the system on behalf of the coders, nor does it reduce the effort behind the content on behalf of the artists.

oh my god! so much comments on my two-three lines of text...
? first: thank you for yours kind words (VeNomSouP and scamp) I'm really sorry for writing my thoughts...
? Tomaes: you have the point, but I still miss old times: raster, sync-scroll... :)
? Pantaloon: lamers? :-)
... and I'm really sorry for writing my thoughts which provoke so much flame!

Do you think you always put too much Blur in you latest demo...
I hate blur !
The demo looks the same as if I did not wear my glasses !
Blur is not clean I hate that ! And It's BORINGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.

great style, the music fits in with the gfx perfectly. it's almost '80s-ish in the color-scheme but... hhrrrrrrr not really, more futuristic than that. I liked the envmapping particularly.
There is a certain difference between a tool that lets you make an intro/demo any way you want, and a program that helps you make a few variations on RSI megademo...
But don't mind me, I'm drunk... and heading for my bed. I can't believe I'm actually posting bullshit in a pouet thread after coming home on a friday night.. *sigh*

good shit
I like this demo, the music is very nice and I think it's a demo which show the farbrausch talents
zone -->> I have a win2K with sp4 and directX 9.0b (french version),512 Mo RAM (Samsung) with ati radeon 9200se 128 and it rules, no problem !
it's maybe your graphic driver or your system (CPU, or bad motherboard i don't know) but this demo is ok
try to change some params or patchs ;-)

the demo is nice, the music suxx big time. even in a 64k i would not have tolerated it, and now it's 8.5mb OGG? come on people!
I found it somewhat boring the first time I saw it. I watched it once again and it's actually reallly good, thumb up. Nice soundtrack Paniq.
Impressive
yet for some reason not pretty, except for the final scene maybe .
Too messy ? needs some 2d ?

this demo just becomes better and better for each time I watch it. I love that the track is dark until the relieving end where the chords become pompous (<-correct spelling?) .. I tend to think that the timetraveller is racing in that handlike ship pictured in the lower right corner of the screenshot. This object appears in all the scenes(I think). The tree objects kick ass! And also.. I love the "blur"/"glow" as opposed to some other people commenting here.. Sharp edges suck ass..
Same as Keops
bad textures. but everything else looks good.
naah..
Sorry, no.
i found it kind of boring. its too dark anyway.
So when can we expect "zeitmaschine: even darker remix"? :)
hmm...nearly good, but just too abstract.
jo
:)
Sie funktioniert, 9 Monate in die Zukunft waren kein Problem. Und nun die Rygrichtung...
I just watched this after a long time. Kicks more ass than I remember. The music and the colors... ah.
Truly their masterpiece. Excellent visual qualities!
I can't run this thing on my config. i just give a try today and runs ... dunno why .... I like the mood while i feel it's not one of the best demo of fr... :)
WOOO, it is nice nice nice
huh? i never commented on this? shame on me it simply rocks.
zeitmaschine
This one is awesome, especially if you're a fan of goa/psy. Everything has the same look, and follows the same design principles thoughout the entire demo, which is superbly synced to Paniqs wonderful track. I can watch this over and over and over again.
dude! i love almost everything about this. by almost, i mean some places get repetitave. i don't really see how it's "timemachine" but it roxx! (anytranslation for what ur saying?)
i love the soundtrack of this demo. together with these visuals it simply rules. still lasting in my favourite directory.
yo
better than the majority of those techno-vj-kinda-demos, but not by much.
Too bad, all the scenes are aligned to the screen middle. That diminishes the pretty good effect sync and makes the whole thing too rigid.
The soundtrack wouldn't be my first choice anyway.

don't like the noisy music at all. so it's just ok for me.
Superb soundtrack & great visuals.
Ok....becoming, but not quite there.
Music sits nicely, fits very well and is very professional.

realy good!
indeed
feels monochromatic. really nice sync... not a killer one but worth watching.
could be better
passt schon
i don't like it. especially the music. sorry.
maybe just not my kind of stuff.. on the other hand, the music is pretty good
:)
ok, just ok.
What!?? I never thumbed this one up? I used to watch this one quite frequently. Highly enjoyable.

needs moar thumb.
...is ok
What Blueberry said. :)

great ambience here :D
Runs great on a netbook.
Really love the driving soundtrack from paniq in this one - visuals match nice to it too :)
Made a Youtube Highres Rip on my HD channel for it:

pumps hard!
nice
grimdark paniq, unfortunately with the worst realtime graphics tropes of 2003
Still one of my favorites. And it is even more awesome in 144Hz. :)
Synchronization and music did the trick.
I very much miss demos like this
