- demo Windows The butterfly effect by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- despite what many people say here I like the music WITH the original lyrics&singing just fine. I think they do not only suit the prod, but set the mood. Listening to the song on a GOOD stereo the whole thing sends shivers down my spine (in a positive way).
The way the tune is arranged is the key here, there's a feeling of desperation in the voice, the small imperfections clearly enlarge this. To me, it felt as if the singer was a person who realized that she had made some "small decisions" in the past, maybe even spontaneously, that now have grave consequences for her life.
I thought that it would really fit a musical or a classic movie, the song befitting a scene where we learn more about the background of the singer (respectively her character).
A really great and touching piece in my opinion. The version without lyrics seemed outright bland in comparison.
If I have to complain about something then it would be that the visuals are not tied strong enought to the lyrics, but that's just my view.
Overall a great demo which will stay on my HD for a long time. - rulezadded on the 2011-09-23 08:00:54
- demo MS-Dos Inside by Carillon & Cyberiad [web]
- Great demo, just one question:
I saw an article in a german game mag about an upcoming sci-fi flightsim game, kinda elite-like. There was also a video iirc.
The game was supposedly based on the code from the spaceship-over-planet-scene from this demo, but they claimed it would run fluidly in 800x600x16bit on a P100 without hardware acceleration.
Was there indeed a game in the works based on this? Was is supposed to be released by the ill-fated Scavenger company? - rulezadded on the 2009-07-02 08:41:26
- demo Windows Planet Risk by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- Should get an award for best music in a demo ever.
I just can watch this over and over again, it´s fantastic. Anyone who thinks that the music doesn´t fit the visuals on screen is obviously insane or techno-dumb-alized. - rulezadded on the 2006-11-17 00:30:56

- 4k Windows Parsec
- Yup, Gargaj, but why can´t you program something like omniscent which runs in a commandline-window under windows? Sure, you don´t get all those pretty effects for free, but that´s because they aren´t for free, they use external dlls which take up a lot of space!
Zplex,it runs without any problems sans Descent ;-) - isokadded on the 2005-04-16 08:46:44
- 4k Windows Parsec
- For all those who say that creating something on windows without referencing external DLLs ist not possible... I remember a great old 4k intro called omniscent, was a dos prod if I remember correctly. Look it up and see what actually CAN be done in 4K without external help.

- demo Windows Arise by Stravaganza [web]
- This one is a total killer. Awesome. I´m watching it again and again and it just doesn´t stop to amaze me. Style, timing, visuals - everything just fits together!
And it looks great on R9500pro with 6xFSAA ;-) - rulezadded on the 2004-09-13 22:49:14
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS State of the Art by Spaceballs [web]
- I don´t think the animations were exactly handdrawn, or at least the guy used a video background (perhaps via genlock?) because the jumping guys were - afaik - from a music video from Marky Mark and the Fresh Prince (or something like that). Also, the girls in the beginning are infact bond girls, but I think they had a dancer for the mainpart (as far as I remember a sum of the party prize money went to her).

- 64k Windows Beyond by Conspiracy [web]
- Cannot watch the final, SNS also doesn´t work for me. Switches resolution, still displays desktop, is obviously caching something then back to desktop and original res, no go. Radeon9500pro (Medion 9600 XT, its an overclocked 9500pro), 1024megs, XP, DX9, latest Omega. Old version works like a charm.

- demo MS-Dos/gus Dope by Complex [web]
- the song was a 29-track MTM Multitracker-module as far as I remember, so no ringtone because it was no midi-file. I thought it was quite awesome that my Gus was able to mix this thing in realtime with 0% processor usage! Loved that soundtrack!
