If you overlay all of the BITS demos on top of each other you get an intensely stimulating stereoscopic animation
Is that stimulating as "erotic", or stimulating as in "hit repeatedly in the face with a solid gold piano"?? - sucksadded on the 2009-02-05 20:37:06

- report Wild Error in Line #2 party video by Alive Team [web]
- This is really EIL 2nd edition (2001), again I travelled with the film maker. Not so many memories about the film but a memorable journey and party again. I don't remember there being so much eighties music in the background either...
UK'ers will remember 2001 at the height of the foot and mouth season, so the Dutch army confiscated our biscuits when we landed at the Hoek van Holland (but not all of them, as it turned out!) I do remember getting very drunk with a bunch of Poles, (Hi Grey, Sqward!) and the demo compo's had some of the best Falcon '030 demos ever made.
It was a very cold Easter, with snow in Dresden, and all over Germany in fact, and we also managed to annoy Havoc with our overnight presence en route. (Thanks mate!)
There was nothing at all sucky about this party, it rocked! - rulezadded on the 2009-01-30 00:06:40

- Ahh, memories!
I was part of the travelling party with the maker of this film, I even have an original VCR of this film buried deep in my personal archive, not see it for years. I'd forgotten there was over an hour of it ;-)
Symp' 96 was my first coding party. It had a memorable (as in horribly prolonged and feckin' uncomfortable) Eurolines coach journey which took up a full day each way, so we didn't even get to see the main demo compo's on Sunday night as we had to allow for the time to get back.
It was a cool party, mainly from the point of view of being a first timer. There is an exhaustive (and exhausting!) report written up in Maggie issue 20. This was in pre-affordable laptop days and with no carrying capacity for bulky gear, so the realtime elements were done with purely 'analogue' methods like a pen and notepad!
At the same time, there were lots of lessons learned for the next time (Ditching Eurolines coaches for a decent method of travel being uppermost.)
Best moment - The 4ktro competition, which was probably where all the innovation was going on at the time. On the other hand, the 96k compo was disappointing in the extreme.
Funniest part of the film (for me) - Felice was a lot less married back then. If you look carefully at the graphics competition (entry 18, ooh, around the 46th minute of the film) he used the zoom on his camcorder with good effect, to pick up the bare lady hiding quietly in the background of the picture ;-) Sex-starved? Moi?!!
Happy days! - rulezadded on the 2009-01-25 11:55:04
- game Atari Falcon 030 Jewelz by Paradize [web]
- Another gentle low-stress puzzler, the second game to use full VGA rez on the Falcy. I also liked the Hatari option as well. Good work guys!
