- 64k Windows Panic Room by Fairlight [web]
- I like the technique, I really love the music, not so much the demo itself.

- demo Atari XL/XE Overmind by Slight
- Very good, but there are two things that annoys me:
- I HATE the black/white flashing before the stickman world. Hate as "need to cover my eyes until it moved to something else".
- I wonder why some of the effects are present twice (in different resolution), like the vector cube and the circle tunnel. Feel like the demo would have been better if only one of each had been chosen*.
* I can imagine that each was written by a different coder, and that it was a political issue :p

- demo Atari ST Forgotten Bits by NeXT [web]
- Arg, I feel totally lame, I got the credits wrong... the music is not from Tomchi/Noescape ! It's by Tomchi/Noextra !
Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.
(Beer + lack of sleep = no good)
Anyway, a correct version is here, I will try to fix the download link:
http://www.defence-force.org/computing/atari/demos/files/ForgottenBits.zip
It also contains the source code, both as .GFA and .LST format.

- demo Atari ST Forgotten Bits by NeXT [web]
- About "suck" and "system font", as I wrote in the nfo, most of the demo has been lost.
On the total time spent to put it together, most of the time has been into trying to find out what was working, what was not working (I had to rebuild the blitter scroller with the moving background, but miserably failed to get the palette changes to work, was losing the video sync), extracting some of the inlines of some versions, converting to .lst using different versions of the gfa (most of the screens where done on different bootable floppies using different versions of the gfa, don't remember why), ... and most importantly, trying to remember what the code was doing at all (lack of comments + global variables + two letter long names, tend to not help a lot).
As people on the party place can testify, I was trying to get the demo finished despite the MegaSTE corrupting data (thanks to Satan Disk not working correctly...), and my laptop not able to run Steem at decent speed: Having a decent font was really not the priority :)
Anyway, the thing is released, that was the objective. I was planning to put the source code in the archive, but totally forgot. Will put a link later when the laptop is plugged back. - isokadded on the 2008-07-23 23:19:24
