- I've had a lot of fun playing with it and figuring it out :) I get a good performance/quality tradeoff by reducing the other iteration counts a bit, but that one is the bit that really limits it somehow. Quartz composer is great for stuff like this btw - you can hook LFOs, mouse control etc. up to various parameters in a couple of seconds and mess around with everything realtime.
Hmm.. this combined with mandelbulb could be incredible. Brocolli skyscrapers? :D - isokadded on the 2010-04-10 13:01:45

- Is it possible to get interesting results with a higher value than 0.00025 in the line: "for(int i=0;i<200&&abs(k)>.00025;i++)"? Raising that, I get 60fps on my olden gpu. The results start losing their shape though.. playing with the other figures in that loop seems to improve it, but having no idea what those numbers are doesn't help much :)

- I ported it to GLSL using quartz composer on osx (for some reason I figured that was quicker than booting into windows). If you're on OSX 10.5/6, you can probably just open the file from here (it's the attachment):

If you're using safari, MAKE THE WINDOW SMALL BEFORE CLICKING. It'll play directly in the browser, and it'll be slow as hell if you have a big window and a slow gpu ;) Any other browser will just download it so you can run it normally.
That's not really a true 'port', but it'll run the shader so you can watch it realtime at least. - isokadded on the 2010-04-10 01:53:39

- demo Windows PC-04 Partycle by Panda Cube [web]
- First scene lacked shadows and had a serious late 90s/early 00s design. In fact most of the demo had the same feel, with the tunnels and stuff. There's even a ton of alpha blending at the end!
Really enjoyable :D - rulezadded on the 2010-04-09 21:30:53

The demo: I loved the 2d pic in the middle, some parts were really great like the clouds/rays at the end. Good tune too. Other parts were ok, not stunning. - rulezadded on the 2010-04-09 13:18:28

- demo Windows Zcareplex Mk 5 by Nuance [web]
- yeah, I loved this. It has tons of coolness. And lots of parts where I started thinking "wtf is this ugly shit?" only to think it's spectacular a moment later.. like the screenshot scene.
