Question to everyone: I definetely heard a remastered / remixed version of the soundtrack somewhere - anyone knows about it?
The most I was able to found out was http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=159
So uh, which was first, this or https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=5265? 'Cos that one bit does sound a bit too close. - isokadded on the 2024-09-19 22:54:43

NOTE: There is an issue with stutter/frame pacing.
Yeah, def' felt that, there's a lot of back-and-forth flicker between next-frame and previous-frame, and an insane amount of vsync tearing (RX8700). It also didn't quit on ESC or when the demo ended.
The demo is obviously far above the current scene standard, I just wish the music and the visuals would've agreed on a middle-ground. - rulezadded on the 2024-09-15 22:00:17
- demo Linux Windows Karl Bauhaus by Carl B
- So if it doesn't work on NVIDIA...
... but looks like this on AMD...
Then what exactly was this meant to be run on? - isokadded on the 2024-08-30 18:59:16
- 4k Windows Chalcocite by LJ & Virgill [web]
- Ended just as I was hoping it to start resolving, and on my AMD all the edges had weird little swizzle noise artifacts around them, but otherwise the sound design is immense and I love the mograph feel of it all.

- No, download links are download links. We can keep it as a party version once you delivered a fixed/final.

- Yeah damn, the fuck was that ending, jeez :D
The assets are impressive, the animation is great, the expressions are well delivered, the pacing is well done, but there's a lot to be desired about the camera work (linear?!) and the general cohesion where it feels like the music was made for a completely different intro and just bolted on as an afterthought, and doesn't convey a lot of the emotion that was implied to be in the story, which is why the ending - even though it is foreshadowed - doesn't really sit well, because there isn't really a tone to attach it to?
Still, a respectable effort. - rulezadded on the 2024-08-19 19:24:09

- demo JavaScript THE MESSAGE by Gray Marchers [web]
- No idea what the prize acceptance speech was so I'm forced to judge it on the demo merits - there's a lot to like here, what's there is well done, and I really can't knock the enthusiasm there, but it's also as safe as you can humanly get with the bisexual lighting and synthwave, and I could've done without the kumba-ya populism, earnest as it may be. Still, on principle it's at least doing what a demo is supposed to, and that ground is getting thinner by the day, so the win is deserved.
