- when I wanted to explain people about demoscene I was always using this demo. And I still do :)

- it started promising, then everything was ruined. you have some interesting code, i believe you can make a killer demo with it. do it!

- demotool Windows Crinkler by Loonies [web] & TBC
- Mentor, Blueberry, I have a small request that you probably will not like to implement, probably it doesn't fit in Crinkler's way of working but...
as you know floating point numbers compress bad, so people is using the trick of truncating the mantisa with 16 bit of zeros (collapse/necrostudios, farbraush, myself, and probably others). I'm not even sure if Crinkler has enought information to know if a specific constant in the .data segment is a float or not, but would it be possible that you automatically do the truncation for me at linking time? In other to avoid truncating every float (sometimes you don't want truncation for precision issues), only those constants starting like "ct16_" (Crinkler Truncate 16 bits) could be truncated...
I'm saying impossible things? Sorry for asking more from you... Second thumb up to compensate for it :) - rulezadded on the 2007-07-02 22:20:10
- demo Windows STS-05: Royal Temple Ball by Synesthetics
- I still prefer instant-zen quite more. However, that yellow-multi-cube-worm in the blue tunnel is fantastic! (in spite of the simplicity, it deserves best effect award I think)

I think this demo is the first one to feature Subsurface Scattering realtime (I may be wrong...)
you are wrong :) I like the underwater images the most, and the music is very good! I saw flt, asd and xplsv demos so far, the three managed to add so nice music, fantastic! - rulezadded on the 2007-07-02 20:42:43
- demo Windows halfsome by Carillon & Cyberiad [web] & Fairlight [web]
- cool, I enjoyed it a lot more than the video, there is quite a lot of details here and there. I guess I have to update my gfx card (radeon 9800, still quite slow; ironically the navier-stokes thing is the fastest effect :). The images look clean, I like it.

- 4k Windows cw or ccw ? by Rgba [web]
- hm... just for those that don't get it, two days ago there was one of those stupid pouet threads (http://www.pouet.net/topic.php?which=4224) speaking about this optical illusion that cached my attention, and I decided to spend few minutes (well, actually three hours) to make this ... thing.

- 4k Windows cw or ccw ? by Rgba [web]
- aaaaaaahhhhhhhh. Ok, then it means:
1. d3dx9_33.dll was not found (or you cheated something by taking d3dx9_??.dll and renaming it)
2. the device could not be created...
For the device, I set A8R8G8B8, 4_SAMPLES, D3DSWAPEFFECT_DISCARD, D3DFMT_D24S8, D3DPRESENT_INTERVAL_IMMEDIATE... I tried here (WinXP Radeon 9800) and seems to work always fine whatever I set on the Catalyst Shit Panel, both in 32 and 16 bit color desktop. I wish I could reproduce your problem. Any additional info that could help (gfx card, driver, setting, etc)? - isokadded on the 2007-07-01 01:18:15
- 4k Windows cw or ccw ? by Rgba [web]
- crash? dunno, i check for every return value in the main api calls, and cleanly exit if an error occurs.
