- me like, lots of various effects, colored, fluorescents, i love the spline-cube!
scenes are perhaps too much empty sometimes, need another bckground like just black, music is cool - rulezadded on the 2004-04-19 11:34:46

- @Skarab : This prod sheet is not the place to discuss of that subject ('flood prods'), open a BBS tread instead please
@Nytrik : i'm not involved in this production ,) (but yes, i must improve my 3D this year, interesting proposal, email please ;] ) - isokadded on the 2004-04-19 11:02:59

- @ Skarab: (pas de pbs, je vais essayer de repondre à tes questions calmement ;] )
prod is 2m10, not 30 secs (read nfo please), and when i see BP04 rankings, i am not motivated to takes more time to work on a prod to makes it long and good.
objects use from 10.000 to 20.000 faces (ok, they are simple, but vertex color takes time to be done by hand), 8 metaballs are hardcoded, Mp3 takes 2Mb size
scenes are played 2 times (in 2 layers 800x600) with openGL blending to simulate multi env map texturing, and use vertex colors
env map are realtime calculated (rendering in env map texture) and add to another texture mapping
(so it's about 40.000 faces+texture mapping+vertex color+real time calculated env map+bezier camera path+cam fov & roll angle, directional or omni lights+fog)
this prod was done in 4 days (read nfo please) because i had some familly obligations before deadline, so i made it quickly because i liked this chromed rendering and wanted to make speed visuals on speed music, nothing more
if you're interested, i can send you the max scenes, and you'll try to makes it running with this kind of rendering in your own 3d engine, synchro with music of course, in 16 hours, interested? ;)
sorry for your sound problem, i hope it's not because a bad version of the replayer (it works fine for me with soundblaster 1024 value, but we had sound problems in the past)
i do not create DEMOnstrations of our skills, i create visuals for sound environements to be entertaining, realtime is just an easy way to avoid long rendering times and to use special fx like openGL can provide (blending for example).
i don't care about where the 3d engine comes from, all the thing i see it's i can export from 3dsmax with our own exporter, and make my visuals working and be synchros to the music. Engine is used here to 10% of it's possibilities (it's so complex, i don't understand all of it's features).

- @ Tomaes :
you're right, website say :
"If you submit something, you have to be present at the party"
and say :
"Submissions via E-mail are only allowed for the demo compos and after further negotiation with the respective organizers."
there is no direct link about this famous 'respective orga', and i'll never negotiate something with orgas before sending a prod by internet, it's stupid! you send or not, why negotiate, negotiate what ?
in fact i'm just disappointed, because i waited the best 2004 prods from this party, and this joke-prod wich win.... (this prod is not so bad, it's ranking is shame, not the prod itself (music is ok for example), i'm not against joke prods or this prod, just against the fact DemoCompo winner must have the best code, music, gfxs of all the showed demos, and probably 400 selfcalled demomakers voted for this one, it's a disrespect of the whole demoscene and other demomakers wich work hard for some months to provide good prods.) - isokadded on the 2004-04-18 11:31:44

- @ scamp:
- No jury? i thinked it was a fucking jury, i hate jurys, so ok, i respect the audience votes, they wanted this prod win, it's done.
- Send me money and i'll come, it's not easy to find 200 euros to come to a party when you take care about bread price every day!
