- demo Windows Quantum Retrofuture by optimus
- in all honesty, there are 3 problems with the demo that are fairly easy to fix in the future:
1) totally unimaginative effects - maybe try to focus on an effect showing ONE thing rather than an effect with an overlay of another effect (metaballs with mandelbrot projected upon then and such horrors)
2) Bad timing. Same thing happens for 1 minute.
3) Utterly horrible music. Your brother cannot compose, sorry.

- This is just too enjoyable. Built with extreme attention to detail it raises the bar to stratospheric levels. I salute rgba & TBC, you are heroes !

- yeah exactly. Your foolish actions destroyed our native planet "Risk". Now we cannot return like kewlers did, and we have to stay on earth for all eternity making demos.

- ehm, that's the secret of good effects: they go unnoticeable: the wireframe generation, the boolean geometry operations and Voronoi based triangulation, are, in my knowledge, wholly new effects. Actually this demo has very little code recycling, an unusual thing for ASD demos I must agree :-)

- ah, so I'm back home. What an adventure it has been. First of all, super thanks to everybody at the Gathering: you made my short stay in your beautiful country all the more enjoyable. Kudos to the production team, this year they managed to get more people interested in what we are doing and also run a smooth party.
Then a high-five to my asd friends, I wish you were there (at BP or TG) to share some of the primal excitement we all get when we watch our production on the big screen with our fellow sceners sitting around us. Next time ?
I saw the screenshot from Automan / Galaxy Express 999 and at first I thought that the shaders were playing up. The funny thing is that I know nothing about this, it is a pure coincidence. The demo references other sources, ofcourse: debris is one (the camera shake), and then the films mad max and the duel. But no idea about Galaxy express 999.
So now... I have to live for a few days in a rather melancholic - post natal depression mood, which I'm sure you all get when you finish a big production. But it is all balanced by the reaction and positive reviews, and the knowing that people we'll talk about this for a little longer (or maybe only until tonight hehe :-)))

- demo MacOSX Intel 3epkal by ln2
- hm am I the only one who appreciated this more than all the other demos in the compo ? It had great potential, but unfortunately was very very short.

- demo Windows revolver by PlayPsyCo [web]
- went from interesting to downright bad at the end. Basically the last scene is probably one of the worst ideas put into a demo ever. There is a horrible, utterly horrible fish-eye lens, a tron motorbike, a weird city upon a city, a heart, some doors, some helicopters, some bats and a dude singing (!?!)
The weakest demo so far from playpsyco, a group that is actually very technically proficient and have delivered some impressive demos in the past ( contr jous, camden town etc). - sucksadded on the 2009-03-13 22:25:12

- ah, I've been trying all day to find what the music reminds me of (at least the first half minute): the background music to several Giallo films (Argento et al), usually made by Gobllin. Can we get it on a separate mp3/ogg ?
