- 64k Windows 100% by Macau Exports
- Was torn between this and Adapt's. The atmosphere here is just right, and the overall sense of design is very confident and aims to achieve more with less, which is something I value a lot.

- demo Windows Rakka by Rustbloom
- This really should've been watched in VR. The big screen experience, while normally able to elevate most products, did nothing for this one. Technically it's nothing to write home about, either. Props for creativity though.

- demo Windows Kolme by Top Right Bottom Left [web]
- I liked it at first, but then I couldn't really see what was going on from all the blood gushing from my eyes. :|

- demo Windows Rogue Keyframes by Pyrotech
- Felt like too much attention was given to the robot model at the expense of everything else in its scenes, and that the overall design effort did not match the engine capabilities in terms of rendering and animation. If you use a tool as powerful as UE4, you really have to knock it out of the park design- and/or direction-wise to make it feel worth using. So the thumb goes to Tim Sweeney, and the piggie goes here.

- demo Windows Number One/Another One by Carillon & Cyberiad [web] & Fairlight [web]
- I remember the time when CNCD/FLT demos had fun ideas and fresh effects lacked polish and struggled tying their scenes together in a coherent fashion. Fast-forward a decade or so, and they emerge as some of the most polished, well-directed, absolutely-fucking-impeccable pieces of art—that, of all things, suddenly start lacking novelty. What irony!
That's not to say it detracts from this demo in any meaningful way, however: Number One is fantastic, super fun to watch, so dense and detailed you could write a book on it. I could barely decide which one to vote #1 at the party between it and For Your Love, but was convinced by the title (j/k) and in retrospect am glad it won. Although numb res still occupies a special place in my heart for purely sentimental reasons, this is most certainly my favorite CNCD/FLT demo to date overall. - rulezadded on the 2018-08-22 12:31:10
- demo Windows For Your Love by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- Two thumbs up for two p... okay, jokes aside, this rules hard. Yeah, sure, feels a little secondary in places, but with such polish and attention to detail I don't even care. You already had me at the burning figure, but the city scene is some next-level shit. I don't know how you made such a detailed cityscape. I guess it makes sense that you plan your demos a year or so in advance, cause I can only conclude it takes all the time you can throw at it. Hundreds upon hundreds of manhours. I actually expected it to win because of that. Again, wow. Seriously, never stop.

- demo Windows exosteriacle by Adapt [web]
- Probably the most impressive Adapt demo so far, although I'd say direction-wise it loses to the simpler (but also easier to execute well) concept of Zoomin, which. Kind of a shame this demo had to encounter competition strong enough to kick it out of the top-3 entirely, but you took the 64k prize home and won the demo compo a year ago, so it probably works out anyway. :p

- 4k Windows Fireflies by Posers
- Lacks content, but I liked the design and the fact that the demo knows when to end. :p Would love to see more from you.

- 4k JavaScript Troubled Waters by FP
- Really wanted to like this one for being very different, but other than the fresh style it's just way too slow and goes nowhere... :(

- 4k JavaScript HBC-00016: Core Critical by ½-bit Cheese [web]
- I'm extremely impressed by the geometry and the fact that it's made in JS and will readily give a thumb for that alone, but otherwise I have to agree with Preacher and noby. It didn't really entertain me. This Assembly's 4ks seem to have an overall theme of having a promising start but running out of oomph juice some 10–15 seconds in. :p
