- 4k Windows Quattro Stagione by Absession [web]
- One of the few 4ks with sound that does not suck. Effects are ok.

- demo MS-Dos singularity by Satori [web]
- A relaxing demo based on colourful kaleidoscope effects with a well fitting tune. It's actually one of the more demo-ish and less abstract/distorted satori productions.

- demo Commodore 64 drug sixtyfour by Reflex [web]
- IIRC only last place in the c64 demo competition. 1996 was actually the last year with good c64 releases at Assembly. After that, the unholy speedway-series dominated the compo.
Surely not the best demo from reflex, it feels a little bit empty and unfinished, but still worth the download. - isokadded on the 2002-02-18 10:13:46
- demo Windows initialize by Nah-Kolor [web]
- Indeed, very kasparovish. But in comparison, the elitegroup smasher is superiour to this demo, because of better music and syncs. And because of the most important thing which is missing here: Atmosphere. This demo somehow fails to set a mood and fails to create an atmosphere. It's 'just' a well-made 3d-flyby...

- demo Windows elements by Haujobb
- Some great modelling and design, good music (except the sucky wannabe-rapper ;)) and all in all a good demo.

- 256b MS-Dos artificial intelligence by Luks [web]
- Wicked. An interactive version would be even cooler I guess. :)

- 64k Windows 64K demo by Sulaco [web]
- Mhmm, the interesting point of this one is the fact that it was coded in delphi, which is quite surprising, since delphi is really not the perfect tool for size optimised code and thus it's quite unusual to code intros with this RAD-Kit. ;)
They use a plain midi file instead of common module libaries like mini-fmod, since that seems to be the only (easy) way to get some sound in a delphi intro.
Besides the tech-stuff it's not really interesting and can't compete with recent intros. - isokadded on the 2002-02-15 18:51:03

- demo Windows Kasparov by Elitegroup [web]
- Mhmm, ok...
Then you watch this one for the first time, you can only be disapointed. After all this hype, you somehow expect more than just some nice camera moves and some industrial flavour. I mean, it starts promising, but while watching it for the first few minutes, you are waiting for some mindblasting climax that is not coming... only the same scene(s), over and over again...
Still, it's getting better every time you watch it. Once you KNOW about the little 'content', you can concentrate on the atmosphere. And yes, it definitely creates a great atmosphere (atmos-fear? ;)).
The distorted ending seems to be inspired by the hplus one.
However, all elitegroup/smash designs/farbrausch trademarks are here: Perfectly fitting soundtrack and syncs and textures and no real design. :) - rulezadded on the 2002-02-14 16:02:12
