• Yes, it had to be a custom format: Instead of using 4 channels that are mixed together on the three YM channels, he instead decided to go for only three channels of music, each mapped directly to one of the volume register of the YM.
  
  Based on my own tests at doing real time mixing on the 6502, his approach worked much better, and you even have (a bit of) free cpu time!

• Thumb for being on Jaguar, but yeah I agree on reusing this music. Apparently it's not possible to make a rotozoom on Atari without using this module, I guess it must have some kind of hidden fast routines :p
