And you know that how?
Only 40% of breakpoint visitors were german speaking. If you are right it would mean that every german speaking person voted it #1 and everyone else did not vote at all or something along that lines.
"Face it", neither you nor me knows who voted for what.

Preselection does not help against low entry quality.
And I highly doubt there is any bigger meaning behind all this. Last year the Amiga compo didn't have any killer releases while the PC demo compo had, this year it was the other way round. And maybe next year the C64 or whatever platform will kick some serious butt. For me that's perfectly fine.
Some people really are much too fanatic about all this. - isokadded on the 2004-04-17 20:33:15

- canonball & zone & whoever: it can't be THAT hard to get that breakpoint does not have jury-based voting, but public voting. With 900 sceners present, this "jury" probably represents the biggest part of the active demo scene. So what is all this bullshit about the votes being unfair etc? What exactly is unfair about democracy and public voting?
Face the reality: The majority of voters at Breakpoint liked this production. This gives me the following conclusions:
1.) The pouet trolls that did not even attend breakpoint should shut the fuck up. If you don't even visit one of the most important demo partys, you are not part of the scene and should not comment at all. Go away. :)
2.) See kb's comment - every visitor of Breakpoint had the ability to vote. If you did not vote and now are unhappy with the results, then shut the fuck up. It is YOUR fault!
3.) All this is not bad. And it's neither the end of the scene nor anything near that. After Breakpoint 2003 people thought the Amiga scene was dead, as the Amiga contributions were rather poor. And now look what happened this year. So what, next year probably the pc demo releases will rock again.
4.) And a note for people blaming breakpoint for the pc demo compo: No, we did not put up a rule saying "Please only submit boring stuff to the pc demo compo". And no, it's not the organizers fault (unless you blame Farbrausch for being busy organizing BP (and the 96k game) instead of submitting a demo).

- Even with all respect I have for visualices artistical skills (lots), his demos regularly make me fall asleep. Not my taste. No thumb down as it's technically nice.

- If music is turned on, framerate goes down and the game stutters and gets unplayable. Final please!

- leia: Well, actually I was busy organizing some shit during the pc demo compo, so I was unable to fully watch everything. But honestly: Since that compo I've got the "we have computers.." melody in my head, while I hardly can remember any other pc demos anymore, so this thing kinda worked for me it seems.
Let's hope there will be more competition pc demo-wise at Breakpoint 2005. - isokadded on the 2004-04-15 23:15:17

- Yes, it's sad that Breakpoints pc demo compo only had avarage productions. I also would like to see something different as #1. But well, actually there wasn't anything better in the compo, so the Metalvotze guys deserved it.
