- If that was true, any kind of school festival would be illegal, since there is always some commerical music playing... there are a lot of gray areas, and I think these should be used to full extend. I even know of events where copyrighted music is played in a similar context as in a demoparty (entrance free, free download later), and yet it works somehow.

I don't really get the point of pure software rendering... using a few smart shaders could do the same thing and it would look better, and, more importantly, run faster.
Still, the design is great, and fits to the music. This was definitely one of my favorite demos of breakpoint, and I wish there were more of these dreamy 2D-effect demos. - rulezadded on the 2010-04-08 15:22:37

- I think this whole rule of "may not use stuff which previously existed" causes more harm than good... yes, existing work must be credited, but what is wrong about mixing it up in a new way? Or even just using existing music with new visuals, or the other way around?
One of the great things of music remixes is that you may hear a song you like in a new version you like even more. In the case of this demo here, the original song is ok, but personally I like the remix more. So where is the problem? Also, why aren't there any "mash-up" demos, where people mix up existing demos and make some sort of mixed compilation? The only similar thing i know off are the scene-awards-introduction videos (and this 60minute what-it-was-called video) which are very nice to look at, but there should be more of that!
But there isn't more of that because it would not be accepted as "creative work" by too many narrowminded individuals!
Personally, I think copyrighted music+visuals should be accepted in democompos, as long as it is credited and does not violate the laws of the country. - isokadded on the 2010-04-08 14:59:54

- The sky looks boring, the water does not reflect the landscape, and the mesh really is low quality in the non-HQ version (which unfortunately does not perform well).
Oh and btw., this is the most impressive 4k ever, of course. I particularly like the music and the "unfreezing". - rulezadded on the 2010-04-06 14:06:38
