- The religious poetry made me feel somehow uncomfortable, I don't know which is childish - the poetry or me... But never mind, this kicked FR08's ass anyway.

- I wonder, if a 3D artist worked a few weeks through all this and converted the pictures into 3D scenes, would that make it more impressive? Ok, this could have been done with Flash. A lot of other demos look like they could have been released as animations rendered straight from the 3DS Max scenes, and entered in the animation compo!
Demos are no longer "demonstrating the power of the hardware technology", games are doing it much better. We all know you can render pretty many pretty polygons realtime on a PC. After playing some Startopia (which is an old game by now?), the 3D stuff at Assembly somehow fails to impress me.
Maybe I'm weak-minded, but I was impressed by "the message", technology (if you call random morphing 3D blurps "technology", hey those must be ~10 lines of OpenGL or DirectX calls...) is a possibility, but is it the answer to all our problems? :-)
Anyway, since it was a democompo after all, it would probably not have hurt if there had actually been some demo effects in this... :-) But the best parts might pass for a TV ad or something... - rulezadded on the 2002-08-06 00:28:30
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS hindun tie kehdosta hautaan by Limbo [web]
- In the golden age of elite trendsetter design-demos (before the "lamers with attitude stike back"-wave), Limbo brings us this original work of art - based on very traditional effects, extremely tasteful design, and a semi-humorous soundtrack with guiros and congas or whatever. And I mean humorous in a good way, this is not one of those "humorous" soundtracks that makes you want to turn the audio off. Anyway, I remember Elvis was flattered by some diskmag reviewer who thought this was an AGA demo...
