• Solid and impressive technically. Surely a lot of good work!
  Doesn't look amateurish to me, just more like a game engine demo than a demoscene production. This isn't necessary a bad thing, but I guess that's why you get some negative comments right here, as people expect a little more engaging/entertaining/emotion-provoking experience.

• The concept is not bad if shaded better - reasons mentioned already, especially strange texture stretching, but also overall polygon feeling.
  That's too bad, since it would be nice and even original contribution to inifinite 3d zoom effects,e.g. fr-043: rove around 5:20, Noumenon etc...
  
  Synchronization could have been a bit better as well, for example around 1:21 I don't really feel the base in animation, but in general it's not bad.

  I feel you, man ;-)
  Composing good melody is very hard. I personally recommend listening to classical pieces and/or reading about "motive development", there are books / lots of resources about it. Although I'm probably better in theory than in practice :D

  IMHO melody is fine, however, some instruments are a bit strange (especially high-pitch thing near the end) and it feels out of tune (not sure why, some freq.based delay effect / too much freq.modulation?). Maybe it's easy to fix actually?

• Looks like rushed indeed and knowing these guys (not in person, but from shadertoy etc...), I think they have potential to do much better. But at least they "delivered something".
