Kinda misses having an ultimate point or narrative to it, but so far by far the best I've seen in the compo. Lovely a bit more unusual rendering and great scene ideas. Would've maybe been better without the chekerboard pattern, felt like an uneccessary addition. Clever "transparency" ;)
WTF, I'm an idiot... Fizzer, I hadn't even realised till now this was yours too :O This was bloody great. Rendering, design, scenes all marvellous and I liked the music too.
However the real WTF here is the amazing voxel performance in 4k. The compo machine is the same one that showed up our slow-ass voxel code at Revision and this prod was so smooth.
I can't watch it here (720p build, pretty-please?) but I seem to remember near the start there's a horizontal bit where initially the voxels are stepping whole voxel at a time and there's no way to gauge whether 1fps or 60... and then a really fast-moving horizontal thing happens and it's WHOOOOOOOA.
Excellent.

That scnene in between the building realy struck me. For a 4k this was very impressive! The last scene felt very much less 'real' though. Very impressive nonetheless.

It took a bit for me to accustom to the visual style, but then I ended up really liking it. I doesn't have the usual 4k looks and has some neat ideas. Should have placed higher IMHO.

I feel somewhat mixed about this demo, considering it faced the same fate as did 'Light is Strange' a while back. My final version of the soundtrack exceeded the size limit by about 200 bytes and lack of time and access to a computer fast enough at the party place prevented me from making last-minute changes. Therefore an outdated version of the track was used instead which I feel the overall result suffered from just a little.
Artistically speaking, fizzer has once again done a marvelous job in telling you a little story in just 4 kilobytes! :) Especially the fountain flyby scene is very impressive!
I will also upload a video of the demo with the alternate soundtrack edit shortly, then you can compare what it would have sounded like. Cheers!

I think you're being a bit hard on yourself about the soundtrack, SunSpire. It sounds pretty good. It's not "OMG best song evar!" but pretty good for 4k. :) I enjoyed it.
I second the comments for color. There could have been a little more, though I get that might complicate things in a 4k. At the very least make the windows not the same color as the buildings, perhaps, even if they're not transparent (or appearing to be).
Also sure, it didn't really "go" anywhere but something just being relaxing works too. :)

one of the better minecraft inspired intros and the tune isnt that bad, really!
Lot of content and some really cool scenes and ideas in 4k.
Starchaser, wysiwtf: No it's not bad, I agree. However I had a few more details in mind which I had already worked on and that I would've liked to see in the release version. Here is a video capture of the unreleased, alternative edit. Maybe I'll create a longer standalone version of the song some time. Thank you again, everyone! :)

The scene in the screenshot is more interesting than some of the others. Could have been stronger. But not bad.
a bit different, which is always nice, but sometimes it felt a bit too... static? I didn't like the ending shot at all, somehow. The alternative soundtrack is nice, shame that it didn't work out. Still an awesome 4k overall.
