- crs, are you saying that if they put in some particles and some poetry with bad english, you'd like this intro more? And of course there's a point to it! You don't make something like this for no reason! It will be well remembered, just like Stash (you didn't forget Stash, DID YOU?! :) If you can't be impressed by code, then you're missing out on half the value of demos.
the product and Heaven 7 both kick ass - let's all just agree with that. :)
p.s. since when did it become "das produkt"? (german name, i know) I was searching for "fr-08" in the prods list and was shocked to find nothing there. :) - isokadded on the 2001-03-01 20:57:15
- demo MS-Dos/gus Silence by Hysteria
- A gratuitous imitation of the Second Reality style. But hey, it runs on my P2/Win98, in a DOS box, no less. Gotta credit them for that. :)

- demo MS-Dos/gus Dope by Complex [web]
- Imagine you're a North American, at your first major demoparty in 1995. You've probably seen no more than 20 demos, and your favorite is probably Second Reality. Then, all of a sudden, this DOPE demo shows up on the big screen after it's downloaded fresh from The Gathering across the ocean. As Snowman/Hornet said in the party farewell speech, you've might've been impressed by it if you watched it at home, but to have seen such a demo at your first party ever with sceners you're meeting for the first time, was an unmatchable emotional experience. And that experience is what makes Dope a classic.
But even back in Europe, the demo was popular enough to inspire several parodies, including Rope and Nope. Most people looking back at it now will pass it off as an object show, but I'll never forget the first time I saw it.
p.s. saffron, you hit it dead on the nail too. :) - isokadded on the 2001-03-01 18:04:44
- intro Windows Lasse Reinbøng 96 by Cubic Team & $eeN [web]
- The first serious attempt at a Windows intro (well, a 1996 Windows port of a 1995 DOS intro, at least). It's bloated in size and has a MIDI soundtrack, so only get it if you're curious. Slightly nicer than the original.

- demo MS-Dos/gus planet groove by Fudge
- Often overlooked, because it ranked so low. But if you can get it running, pick it up, it's worth seeing and has a funky soundtrack.

- demo MS-Dos/gus jakoob by Fudge
- Very underrated demo. Lotsa nice, clean stuff here, and I liked those geek kid pics (I wanted to pixel that first! :). Watch for the robot arm moving the FUDGE blocks.

- 64k MS-Dos/gus clone meets clone by Fudge & Acme
- great effects, great music, great design. best intro of 1998. unfortunately, a lot of repeated scenes make it a little boring toward the end.

- 64k MS-Dos/gus pager-11 by Fudge & orange
- 15bpp only, die. (hey nvidia, how hard is it to include 15 & 24 bit?)
Go grab ftp://ftp.scene.org/pub/music/artists/dune/zzzbla.zip and you'll get half the impact of this intro. (but i'll really miss the particles) - isokadded on the 2001-03-01 15:48:52
- demo MS-Dos Untitled by Dust
- Pay close attention to the first part. Can you say "3 years ahead of Quake"?
Though some nice effects follow that, the design seems to fall apart. Still deserved to win, of course.
BTW, this demo will still run _perfectly_ on a Pentium II with Win98! (you may have to boot to DOS though) - isokadded on the 2001-03-01 15:32:21
