- nice design
but it crashed my work PC (crap 3d crad there)
Maybe you could do online version (flash maybe) to avoid copatibility issues ? (speaking on behalf of mac and other systems people) - isokadded on the 2003-05-01 06:44:32

- Its cool, but most of the credit goes ofcourse to Fear Factory. Replace the song with some generic techno/demomusic and this prod becomes much less impressive.
Flying petals scene is very nice. - isokadded on the 2003-04-29 05:16:21

- Awesome prod
Tech side is kinda not great (long loading, it lags on new scenes and the sincro is ruined, some texture maps could be more optimised to save video memory)
But it got style !
Very nice design. Absolutely kickass groovy tune that would rock any dancefloor.
Sad that demo is so short, can I have it running looped please ? - rulezadded on the 2003-04-28 06:39:30

- Trying to give some 'constructive criticism'..
Overall I liked it. It is real mega-intro and it feels just like those old-skool mega-demos, both because of the music (the style and how several different tunes used) and cause of the different parts that dont have much in common. I guess thats what you were aiming for... It has some appeal and its nicely done, but it is kinda 'yesterday' of demodesign. Or you can call it retro, I`m sure old sceners like your prod ;)
The length issue. I think you just need to know where to stop. You can go on forever generating different shapes of different colors and rotate them in many ways or fly around the same scene (with many pipes and a yellow cistern ;)), but at some point it becomes boring and even annoying. I dont mean that your demo was boring, but it could`v been bit shorter (the first part) and more dynamic.
The scenes themselves are nice (esp for 64k). But back to the overall design and the lack of consistency - it is a subject for discussion, cause there are no clear rules here.
To others: dont just say "sux" cause of that, it never helps the authors to improve, u only discourage them. If you have an idea what should`v been done better (and what way) - then say it.
Out of my head: the scenes could be mixed instead of linear demo structure, that made it look like few intros one after another.
You could use uniform color scheme for the entire demo (note how that is used in many stylish music videos and movies); and I dont
mean monochrome.
Or maybe tricks like specific renderer (ie tv-like noise, scanlines or something else that makes your demo look like a solid product, not just a number of scenes. Also helps to stand out from the mass of the demos having generic HW-rendered look (who has said that HW rendering kills individuality in prods?)
Some strong style 2d overlays( I guess its harder to fit in 64k, unless you have routines for vector-based 2d ).
Having a common theme in the demo is another way. Some people dont like 'story demos', but many others do. And you dont have to make it narrative, just a common theme. Imagine some fantasy place (maybe from a movie or a game), some city or whatever - a place that has a soul, atmosphere, purpose. And then create your demo like if it were a short tv report where you need to show that place to a viewer.
Just some thoughts.. open to discussion. Later lines not necessarily related to you cool intro (that wipes the floor with many full-size demos ;)), jut the general demo design.
Hope to see more from you guys. - rulezadded on the 2003-04-26 06:14:40
