- i quickly threw together a Python Port on Google Colab which also can generate an animated GIF. It's not meant to be perfectly coded or exactly emulating the assembler instructions, it just produces the same image(s)

- 64b MS-Dos Starpath by Desire [web]
- there is now a 55 bytes version in the archive ;)
i also did a small writeup (to be extended soon) :
https://hellmood.111mb.de//starpath_is_55_bytes.html
By the way, contrary to common belief, no XOR was used in this intro ;) - isokadded on the 2025-02-19 18:22:37

- yeah, you think "well, decent for a c64, since it has not so much pow ... OH!"
well done =) - rulezadded on the 2025-02-19 17:38:44

- Capture on Real Hardware - FreeDos 0.84 pre
Added to the archive:
Star Path 64 bytes - commented source
Star_Real - 64 bytes (commented source)
- 64 bytes - Synced to timer, 18 FPS, ESC support, dithering
Star_Pure 57 byte (commented source)
- 57 bytes - Smallest version, template for remixing
I am aware that there still might be hardware setups/
circumstances where this does not run properly
in which case i suggest you contact me or patch the 57 bytes yourself
- also you can customize your own starpath audiovisually with that =) - isokadded on the 2025-02-19 13:26:49
- 64b MS-Dos Matrix 62 by Xeleh
- very nice :)
You could save a byte with getting DS in a different way, like
Code:To make that work, set your rows to the maximum of 204lds dx,[bx+effect.l3-7]
It also gets a decent value in DX, too, so you can remove CWD
to save another byte, but it's not totally black ;)
The idea would be to reshuffle your code to place a good "black" there
The possible values of DS are limited by SI getting sign flag checked
Replace that with zero flag check and you can increase lines to 409
Anyway there has been matrix32 for a while now
last time i checked it didn't work though ...
maybe you still can get inspirations from that =)
happy coding =) - rulezadded on the 2025-02-19 10:00:21
