- demo Windows just a touch of funk by Digital Murder [web]
- excellent motion capture, music and style.. and really funny.. where is the original track from anyways? i'll excuse borrowed music when the syncing is this good and anything different wouldn't have suited the style.. one of the only demos my non-demo-watching friends enjoy.. haven't seen it with the hw-acceleration yet, but that should just be bliss.. but man, the women sure are frightening :)

- demo Windows dionysos by Calodox
- i'm hoping this means we can anticipate a whole bunch of philosophy demos. i'm looking forward to the heidegger and the deleuze & guattari megaprods... and of course i'll be expecting shodan's next demo to be entitled "Apollo" and contain nothing but gleaming, beautifully structured, perfectly optimized code... and no music.. too irrational and dionysian! :)

- demo Windows dionysos by Calodox
- hey, shodan.. never said this isn't what a demo should be.. if you limit yourself to rules based on what has come before, there can't ever be evolution.. and i'm glad you're asking the unanswerable questions you're asking.. people do need to ask themselves those things, particularly with oxymoronic things going on like "the war on (other people's) terrorism".. industrial bands have been accompanying themselves with this sort of thing for a long time, and with less visual finesse and presentation expertise then exemplified here (that is an accomplishment and maybe i *should* thumb that up).. i knew there was an attempt to make some kind of point, but i found that point a muddled one that was delivered with the subtlety of a sledgehammer.. the muddled nature of the message is reflected in the title... what does this have to do with wine and orgiastic fertility rites anyways? :) perhaps you should have called it eris (the goddess of chaos)...

- demo Windows Xmastro 2002 by Sundancer Inc. [web]
- i was going to thumb this up.. it's cute and simple and the music is christmasy without being a lame cover/remix of an old xmas chestnut.. but then it wouldn't restore my screen res when i quit. :( i would've still thumbed it up if the snowmen eventually melted, but i watched and watched and there wasn't even a bit of steam..

- demo Windows the Jackson five remix by Kewlers [web]
- this made me feel nauseous, but in a good way.. disturbing and i also see the chris cunningham/rdj references..

- demo Windows RTR by apocalypse inc [web]
- i like the kiddy drawings.. they add to the slight deranged effect the editing/objects and maniacal music establish.. unusual and accomplished.. wish the colors were a bit darker though.. hurts my eyes :)

- demo Windows dionysos by Calodox
- nice presentation and fontwork and image noise effects.. and i do understand it would be a *lot* bigger as an video-file of similar quality.. passable digital-hardcoreish music.. i'd give it a rulez if it was half the size (it is > 40 mbs uncompressed btw).. but between the bloatware and the tired "let's try to be shocking and pretend we have depth by juxtaposing images of sex and human suffering" i'm afraid i can't rate it in the positive (or negative)..

- demo Windows mg_r by The Planet Of Leather Moomins [web]
- i don't want to see too many things like this too often, but i thought this was really pretty.. the excellent soundtrack makes the whole but the lo-res static and subliminal imagery seem to work with it really well.. it's 4:57 am here so maybe my judgment's clouded but at the moment this lovely, ugly demo speaks to me a lot more than the beautifully presented but bloated and horribly juvenile dionysos people seem to like a lot more.
