- Very nice, Optimus. Much better than the last thing I saw from you, good to see you're evolving.
I really liked the oldskool vibe, good music too. And unlike Rebels 'oldskool' stuff etc, this is actually all software-rendering, written pretty much in the same way as the original effects were intended.
Next stop: 3d acceleration? :) - rulezadded on the 2006-07-16 14:05:23

- How exactly do you draw to the display?
The ony way I figured out in pure MIDP was to build an uncompressed PNG in in memory, and use that as a framebuffer. Sadly you have to run the Adler/CRC algo on it everytime you want to blt it. - isokadded on the 2005-06-19 01:48:37

- Works great now, on both my PC and my laptop.
I like the oldskool-fx-in-3d stuff.
And we now know why the group is called Nasty Bugs :) - rulezadded on the 2005-05-07 12:44:53

- None of those work... they don't work on my laptop either, which uses an ATi Radeon IGP340M chip.
Looks like you might be doing something that ATi's OpenGL driver doesn't like? - isokadded on the 2005-05-02 17:29:39

- It still jumps out immediately after changing the resolution.

- Doesn't work for me... It switches resolution... and immediately afterwards, it switches back, and that's about it.
I use a Radeon 8500 btw... and WinXP SP2. - isokadded on the 2005-04-30 10:35:10

- Very nice idea... some clever ways to fake oldskool effects in Doom, made me smile :)

- Perfect Circle, Little Nell, Magia, Silkcut and Ocean Machine are all names of bands, mostly rock... Now I just wonder if that's intentional, or if rock bands happen to draw from the same sources when looking for names as TBL does. Time to inspect the record... erm mp3 collection of the TBL members :)

- How ironic... NVIDIA is actually the one with hardware support for shadowmaps, and they have to be disabled to make it run :)
