- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Enigma by Phenomena
- This demo was one of first I ever saw, if not the very first one, this and later second reality from FC formed my expectations for many years, of what a demo should do. And about "that scene with the helicopter and the runway is a little bit boring" from above comment - not in 1991, in 1991 when watching it as kid it was jaw-dropping just because it was realtime 3D, not wireframe, and had music with it. Also the tension, what comes next... And just enough pause to catch the breath.

- 256b Linux Blin Elfom by Ye Olde Laptops Posse [web]
- Thumbs up just for being linux and cheating ELF into 256B... and music is quite an achievement.
The rest is ... well... done in real hurry I suppose, nothing impressive (for example the 24bpp pixel storing can be also `stosd` `dec edi` to have only +1B when compared to 32bpp version).
I'm highly interested into trying my own 256 in linux, so I hope your addition of source means "for any other demo scener who needs linux 256 skeleton). (next time add some license info in source please)
Unfortunately I have KDE Neon (based on ubuntu), so I don't have /dev/dsp device, but I will try later to run this either without it with patched source, or some workaround, just wanted to say big thank you for the stuff I already found here... - rulezadded on the 2018-02-11 02:27:50
- 4k Windows 507 (212) by s.k.o.y.p [web] & Ye Olde Laptops Posse [web]
- For some reason at party I thought this is nice, but a bit short 64k ... before realizing my mistake.

- 256b MS-Dos Indian Winter by Adok
- It had nice flow on the screen, at least for me it was "soothing". Code wise it feels trivial, but maybe I would be surprised how much effort it was. ... oh, source is included.. and it's only 150B long binary. That makes more sense.
And to Saga Musix: the intro is using full custom palette, no VGA bleeding, it's designed by Adok, so he's fully responsible... yeah, looks like he could have put few bytes more to make it without those extra off colours, but then again, maybe that was intentional. - rulezadded on the 2018-02-08 11:45:44

Pretty cool .. didn't know that DOSBox supports a quarter million cycles, what would be the equivalent processor ?
According to http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Performance info (particular line added in 2015, so may be relevant) "Pentium II 300" is about 200k cycles. So the setting used is roughly like "Pentium II 414MHz".
The compo machine was actual i7 desktop, and it was running the intro at "cycles=max" about 2-3 times faster than intended :-o ... my linux i5 notebook is running it at 80% speed, but from my observations the linux dosbox is somewhat slower than windows one, like tens of percent, still the desktop vs notebook CPU difference did catch me unprepared.
So basically the compo machine looks like it is capable to pull well over 500k cycles. - isokadded on the 2018-02-04 09:35:27

- wbc\\bz7: thank you, but the screenshot here is only 400x300 compressed jpeg to fit into 64k limit... At least check real 1024x768 full screenshots included in the package :)
