I see. Although both have the same columns and use a separate color for the border, yours changes the border on each chunky line, which can be interpreted as more than just 57 columns and a plain border. Height could also be used as a tie-breaker, but I take your point that it would still be interpretable.

I think 59 columns and more hight will no longer give room for interpretation and leave you with little excuse to release something that kicks the Joker's ass at Posadas this year (if the Joker doesn't have more secret parts in store) xD
The duel with Blueberry could be memorable :D

- Now that Hannibal has published the record breaker here:

- Wow, what a team!
This oozes quality all over the place and a lot of records broken here, congratulations!
But I'm afraid Hannibal took the bait, and the 4x4 copperchunky record is still held by "Joker Snacks On Blueberries". Or didn't anyone see the secret part? :D

- A nice surprise with a large number and variety of spectacular graphics and scenes in a great piece of code work. The music is a lovely track by Ultrasyd in a nice tribute. In my opinion, the best of last night at Revision. I hope you get a prize. Thank you guys!

It's chunky, it zooms AND it rotates. What's there not to like :)
Great rotozoom in Grizzlybear too, maybe that's the record of total chunky pixels on OCS? - isokadded on the 2025-01-12 17:18:28

This could gain 1 more row by removing the scrolltext, but that was not the point. There are 8x1 and 0 bitplane copperchunkys with twice the total pixels.
I only mentioned the number of chunky pixels of the ST-style c2p becuase it was made to beat Photons copper method in the first place (the source is even called photon.s). It's also 4x4 on screen. In the end we didn't make a fuzz of it in the demo, and thank god for that as Blueberry did the other much better prank at the same party :)
Those stories about what motivates us to do things are both fun and interesting. Thank you for sharing!
Still, I think Photon's still had a point for being 4096 colors while Clubisque's is 16 colors if I'm not mistaken. The Inside the Machine one being HAM I think it could use 4096 colors too although I don't know if it would fit in the definition of real 4x4 as it produces that blurriness typical of HAM, which on the other hand looks great.
A potential advantage of copperchunky is that you can better control the shape of the chunky pixels and use mesh. For example, Batman Rises's kaleidoscope uses a 1x1 mesh between horizontal pixels, giving the feeling of having twice as many chunky pixels horizontally for free.
Also, if we reduce the chunky pixel height to 3 or 2 pixels, I think copperchunky would be faster than HAM7, since what drags down the speed of copperchunky is having to repeat a part of the copper moves for each scanline and with chunky pixels of 3 or 2 pixels in heigh there would be less speed loss for that reason.
I also think there are particular cases of rotozoom where copperchunky is the best choice, as, for example, in the kaleidoscope in Batman Rises which I have already mentioned, where the horizontal mirror effect comes for free.
In short, I think there are still spaces for every technique, which shows the awesomeness of the Amiga hardware. - isokadded on the 2025-01-12 12:15:13
