- The effect that puzzles me the most is around 1'35 with the twister casting g a shadow on the wobbly zoomed background.
Not knowing much about the CPC limitations and hardware, esp how many cycles it take to change the display address which means that the display could be pointing at an "in between" address with the high byte from the next one and low byte of the current/previous one, or vice versa.
Rather than save/restore buffer, I suspect some generated code that copies pixels of the wobbly background left and right of the twister buffer, including the shadow, then change the display address to point to the wobbly background, then change to the next twister line.... But that must be very tight CPU wise.

- Can you change the screen/display address mid scanline on CPC? To any address?
That or some effects seem to change the display address per scan line, but also drawn a bunch of stuff then restore the buffer.
