SPINNING KIDS, read this! I'm tired of this sensless discussion...

category: general [glöplog]
Urhgl, how often should I tell this. I havent copied the sources.

IMHO: Sharing the idea = releasing the demo!
If you don't want, that someone recodes the effect (like me), then don't release the demo!

And yes, I liked the idea a lot, really nice idea!!! But why should I greet for an idea? I used sphere-mapping too, should I greet now all dudes that used sphere-mapping in the past? Ohhhh please! After seeing an effect, everyone could copy it... why bother around with other peoples sources, recoding the visual appearence is often much simpler then trying to figure out what other peoples sources do (for instance, I tried to understand clax keyframer code... recoding IS simpler :-).

And now... tata... for all who want to copy the texrenderer too:

1. create font outlines of youre favourite font

2. for(int i = 0; i < 256*256; i++)
mTex[i].luminanice = rand() & 0xFF;
upload texture

3. for(int i = 0; i < string.length; i++)

Have fun... this discussion is boring.

Now you got my attention, EvilOne.
Where can I see that texrenderer in action?

Never meant to start a thread about a quasi-joke prod. Let's share a beer at next mekka, dude.

you could also share a bear with me! i always hunt in the winter.
I never wanted to start a thread on this intro, but you did it, so...

As I wrote in the source's infofile
"It's no use to put a copyright on it, since it's so simple... just use it and credit me somehow if you like it.".
So, speaking about "code rip" is time-wasting.

But, man... you have to admit that the text effect and the color scheme are at least inspired from PK.

As Dixan suggested... next time the license will be beerware =)

Hehehe, yeah, thats what I say to all and every person, the idea was that cool, so I started a rewrite :-)

And yes, 100% inspired by PK is dead... btw, I had no time to code this cool text-fade-in before deadline ;-(

Pan, we should have some beer at a party in the future (dialogos maybe?) :-)

P.S. Who is Lator? /** kidding */

.... why do coders have to feel like they are inventors of some device that can save the world from hunger and pain? :)

"We started interrogating him," Lowe said, white-faced.
"To find out exactly when to place the fantasy-memory of him single-handedly having saved Earth. And strangely enough"

"They told me not to tell," Douglas Quail mumbled in a dull drug-saturated voice. "That was the agreement. I wasn't even supposed to remember. But how could I forget an event like that?"
