GARGAJ vs LEGALIZE
category: residue [glöplog]
[21:16:50] <GargajCNS> i gotta paste this here else i wouldnt believe this is happening
[21:16:54] <GargajCNS> i just got this mail from legalize
[21:16:55] <GargajCNS> Yeah, right, all I do is sit around and complain?
[21:16:57] <GargajCNS> So single-handedly putting Pilgrimage together for 3 years and all the other things I have done doesn't count as something other than complain?
[21:17:02] <GargajCNS> The assertion that all I do in the scene is bitch and complain is a massive denial of the facts.

I don't think stefan was allowed to post that in public because there isn't any licence mentioned.
Let's all discuss this at BP over an ice-cold Cluepirinha cocktail.
don't be haters! encourage the usa scene. it only means more sceners and productions which will make everyone happy.

you all make bunny cry
Did you know that when one little panda pulls on another little panda's underwear, that's sexual harassment? That makes me a sa-a-a-a-ad panda
Which of the following is true?
a) Legalize singlehandedly put Pilgirmage together for the last three years
b) Legalize bitches and complains a lot
c) Legalize does a lot of other things too, like reading his mail, posting on a webforum and taking his dog for a walk in the park
d) Ex-commie Gargaj has a moustache
e) All of the above

I'm going with B, for "I'm mentally 6 and I have a message for Legalize: GROW THE FUCK UP"
Truck, did you eat the assblaster?
hey at least it's not from Titan.
he said the t-word!
My impression is that Legalize takes things far too literally. Anybody can see that he has done a lot of party organization work, so why is he even raising the issue? The fact is, Legalize does complains whenever someone criticises his work, or when he thinks someone criticises his work.
In some cases, I think criticism of his work is well-justified. Legalize is correct when he says that he "single-handedly" organizes Pilgrimage. Many people offer assistance, but he tends to either ignore them or turn them away. Last year, for example, I heard from at least four people who tried to assist with the organization efforts but were either met with silence or denied the access needed to do their jobs. While I am grateful that Pilgrimage exists in the first place, the experience is less than ideal.
I believe both issues stem from an oversized ego. While I admit that he is the only one with the gumption to organize an American party, that fact does not make him the king of the demoscene. He should be open to criticism just as any other person should be. Likewise, he should be willing to give up control where others offer to take over a part of his responsibilities. Perhaps his personality will soften as time goes on. I hope so; he's done a lot of good for the North American scene, and I would hate to see that good become crushed under a mountain of animosity and injured relationships.

likewise the usa demoparty should be in seattle instead of utah!
What s_tec said. Seattle would be freakin' awesome. I wouldn't have to fly anywhere, for a start. The Canadians wouldn't have to fly very far either: it's very much cheaper to fly to Van then bus to Seattle.
Second, we'd be able to drink. There are more bars in Seattle than churches. More gay people than mormons, and much, much fewer 'TRUST JESUS' messages spraypainted on the sidewalk.
Third, you can GET a cab in Seattle on a Saturday night. I think there's one cabbie driving around SLC saturday nights.
Fourth: in a battle of elements, water wins over salt.
Fifth: We've got Nintendo of America, RAD game tools, Microsoft, Real, and a whole bunch of other weirdos.
Sixth: Damnit blackpawn! This is making too much sense.

blackpawn, Gb: The problem is that you need to live near the party place when you want to do a party for more than only a few dozens of people. There's often very much stuff to organize which can't be made through the internet.
a party in seattle would kick major ass. I might even be able to go there if one was held :-)

lol!!
yes i'm in seattle too. thus the suggestion. maybe if we put a black bag over legalize's head, drug him, and fly him out to seattle then give him a couple bucks and set him loose he'll organize us a party!
Or maybe YOU can organise a party yourself!
What stops you guys from doing a party in Seattle? Can't there be two parties in the same country? If you got two parties the scene will be bigger, more will be active and if you really want to compete with another party you can taste the bittersweet victory when you count visitors and releases.
OK, so it is a bit optimistic, but this is how it works in general.
