Personally I thought that Tint (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=701) was the first ever DCS demo.
The reason for this was that it was (one of?) the first truecolour demos, and they ofcourse had to show those colours off in all their tasteless splendour :)
Note that this production did not involve Dutch members of TBL, only Swedes iirc.

I suppose the later (and more popular?) TBL demos on PC (with the Dutch team) held onto the same philosophy (especially since truecolour on PC was still relatively new, a few years after Tint?)... It also gave that nice trippy LSD-like feeling, which suited TBL so nicely :)

Something I haven't understood about this country. Why does it have so many names? In the older times I knew it as Holland, that's how it is called in Greece too. Oneday I have heard that some sceners were from The Netherlands but I couldn't figure out where the hell this country is and found out it's actually the same thing. And then the word dutch, I have heard saying the flying dutchman translate the flying hollandisher(?!?!) in greek, so I figured out that dutch is also the same thing. It took me quite some time to understand that actually Netherlands, Holland and dutch is the same! Hehe..

I am wondering what of these 3 names are beeing used more about Holland. And how is Holland in dutch?

yo, scali - you're actually wrong. To see brilliant examples of of DCS intros/demos you should watch TBL PC, Quad and Aardbei releases (preferably from the dos-era).

holland is part of nederland (in dutch) just like england is part of uk and dutch hmm dutchmen aye anyway niiderlande..

The danish term/word for "The Netherlands" is "Holland"

I agree that Tint should be considered the first DCS demo. It was the first TBL Amiga demo with the new Dutch members: Danny, Facet, and the other guys.

I mean, if the following isn't pure Dutch I don't know what is... :)

And technically, Dutch means 'from The Netherlands', so it's Dutch Colour Scheme, Dutch wooden shoes, Dutch people, Dutch language, etc.

Holland is technically a 'province' of The Netherlands. It used to be the heart of the country, with the big cities, harbours, industry, trade, etc.
So that province became synonymous for the entire country, but strictly taken, it's only the midwestern part of The Netherlands.
