I thought this could be an intersting thread to find out if any sceners have had dreams about demos or the scene - i know I have.

Lastnight I dreamt that a gorilla touched me on the head and teleported me to a moment when humans had discovered a new planet. I was on the first trip to walk and explore this planet, and we were walking on the surface, but it only had very little land (island) so we concluded it was computer generated (coz there wan't enough ram to make much landscape).

While walking around this surreal landscape I saw a tv screen in the rocks, and it was playing the most amazing visuals.. but they seemed very familiar. Then I realised they were the same scenes from the wining Breakpoint TBL demo, except the visuals were MUCH better. The visuals were quite literally amazing. So from this I concluded that The Black Lotus had infact discovered this planet before everybody else, and that this is where they had go the ideas for their demo from.

Well if you have had a demo dream, perhaps you can post it here. I know its hard to remember them if its been a while.

sometimes I dream of stuff that I think would be cool to see in a demo, and sometimes I see demo like effects in places where there is really nothing, but I cant really say that I have dreamed about something I actually saw in the demo scene before.

But I admit I havent been here very long at all, maybe it just takes time for this kind of thing to develop.

alot of times I will try to use my computer to re-create something I dream about, but I can never quite make it before I forget the dream. It happens alot more with music, I'll make up a tune in my head and forget it before I can create it audibly.

I find that most of my dreams are about old conflicts I have been through or hypothetical ones that I might see some day, ppl always complain about me yelling while I sleep.

i usually dream about boozing and abusing substances at demoparties. which is nice.

i guess i already wrote a review of the mudwrestlingmatch from bp03 that did not happen in one of pouets threads? can't remember much details anymore, so i would have to do it cutnpaste style. =)

I think there was a thread entitled "Dreams about the Demoscene" or something, somewhere in Pouet BBS before, as for the comic it's teh rulex!!!

I dreamt some scener had died and we all congregated in his/her parent's garden, showing sympathy and being sad about it.

couple of days ago i had a dream where i was at a demoparty which was held in a flying ufo(i wonder where that came from!). and the floor was damn cold to sleep on.

weirdest demoscene dream i've ever seen was one where astu and paavi of iso were sober.

I've had several dreams where I'm at some random place (such as a train or a forest) and I suddenly notice that there's a demoparty going on.

And if I happen to actually see demos, they're often even weirder than the rest of the dream. I've seen a lot of outstanding stuff which I haven't even been able to describe after waking up.

I've also had a dream (as a kid, in the 80's) where I wrote a C-64 machine code program which was able to calculate the "contents" of real-world locations and render them with line vectors. You just entered some coordinates and got a wireframe 3d scene of the actual location, and after changing some "additional parameters" it was even possible to have a look into parallel universes or something.

Of course, once I woke up I had already forgotten how I made it :(

but yeah, I always dream really cool tunes that I can't recall when I wake up.

I've had a bunch, usually just before or after parties, about parties. Surprise.

There was a funny one a few nights ago though. In the dream Kewlers had released the most incredible demo EVER, and a bunch of us sceners were sitting in front of a PC watching it over and over again in total amazement.

Then I woke up, realized that no such product has been made yet. Imagine my disappointment.

The funny thing is that I still remember exactly what the demo looked like. Let's see how long it will take Kewlers to come up with it. :)

Yeah..i've also had a few others ones.. The one was about this 'golden demo' i coded. It was so amazing and so bright and golden, rays came from the screen and shone through walls...hehehe...of course the brain can make anything seem plausable. =D

i had a dream once, i was playing in front of hundreds of people, the tunes were big demoscene hits and everyone was having fun and getting drunk and being just happy...

... and that dream came true!

I had a wierd demopartydream last night. I was at Breakpoint, which was held in some kind of old abandoned factory, and the partyplace had this wierd mazelike staircase and both, the staircase and partyarea, were floating over nothing. There was like bottomless pits on the edges. At least two good sceners fell there :(

There was also a band playing waltz during the whole event and outside people were listening to my music from a boombox and were miserable because it sucked. They turned happy immediately when I put my brother's music on.

And then there (outside) was some old russian woman who flipped out and started calling us "the enemy", so the whole demoscene started chanting "public enemy no. 1"

There was other wierd stuff happening too, but I can't remember.
