Party-System live! Reminder:
New Deadlines for 256b and Animation/Video compos!
The party-system is live!
We know that we said that there is no key for remoter, but if you bring a release we'll make an exception. ;)
We look forward to your releases! Read-up the compo rules here again, and remember that we moved the 256b and Animation/Video compos to Friday, which also means that the respective Deadlines will be on Friday already.

Btw, just to clarify, because we got some questions on our mixed messaging from the invite:
We do welcome remote entries in all compos! Just write us a short message at contact@demoparty.berlin and you'll get an access key for the party system ;)
And we also will try to send you your trophy in case you win (or bring it to Revision or Evoke)
So please keep 'em coming!
(We will also send out remote keys by the end of the week to everyone who requested it so far)

I'm happy to announce that the Compo PC got an upgrade, and we now can provide a GeForce GTX 5070 Ti (16GB VRAM) - make it sweat!
🚨NEW AND VERY COOL: The Deadline Trophy Compo!🚨
Last year we went wild with our custom trophies: glowing resin pyramids, powered by an ESP32 + 170 RGB LEDs running our own WLED fork.
This year we’re going further: a compo that runs directly on the trophy hardware! And yes, the winner takes one home. Check out how to participate (and download QM's Trophy Smiuluator) here

Well I sure did fuck up that link. This should work though :)
Heads-up: Our ticket presale will close sometime tonight. You still have a few more hours left to secure one of our nice shirts upfront with a ticket.
Of cause we will sell tickets and shirts (as long as the stock lasts) at the door. Cash and cards accepted. Please keep in mind that the bar only accepts cash payment.

Because people asked -- even, of course, one can see that quite clearly at v3nom's post above, if one cares to look -- about the Synth Jam:
This is not a prepared performance by someone in particular, but a pile of hanging-around-to-use-synthesizers somewhat wired up to do what synthesißizzis were designed to do. I'll bring a "curated selection" of the devices I have lying around, so you won't need to bring your own, but you can, as well.
Last year the total integrated sum of fun this created was so high that we thought about repeating one such session on Saturday, so we'll find out whether we might do that this year.

We are in search for someone to make a results-file design for Deadline 2025 - please write us at contact@demoparty.berlin or over Discord
Sadly I got sick - so that I can´t deliver my talk about the modern pixelart. But I will record and release later a video with the talk and the materials. Have fun at deadline!
Get well soon, Titus 🫂🥺

If you want to see a few impressions from the party (with some behind-the-scenes stuff as well), you may consult your trusty TRBL same-day party photo delivery service now.
Wow, this party was a blast like an atomic bomb while being invaded by some exotic aliens.
It is always so much fun to party with all of you! I had so many good talks to familar and not so familiar faces.
I also especially likes the music-program as a whole. And the compos were amazing, too. It was also great, to get the technical deep-dive of the mate-screen from the ccc-people.
Deadline is still one of the best party of the year for my humble opinion.

Well that was fun!
what a great demoparty experience. happy to have been back at deadline for the first time after 2021. will definitely come back next year. many thanks to all the orgas, you did such an amazing job! and it was a real pleasure to play after the compos, even if it was so late and many people already went to sleep... many thanks for the opportunity!
just some tiny points of critique:
- is there really nothing that can be done about the food situation? the pizza is not bad, but if it's the only thing available, and there are no food places whatsoever around the location, wouldn't it be possible to make an agreement with a food truck to come a couple of times during lunchtime and/or evening? i'm sure they would make a good business with this... also, it would be awesome if either the bar or the info desk could sell a couple of small snacks like chocolate bars or something like that...
- if there is a chronical problem with keeping the compo timetable, maybe you could consider getting rid of 1-2 "special" compos? i mean, sure, they are really cool, but a 2-day demoparty has certain limits in that regard...
apart from these points, absolutely nothing comes to mind, as everything else was awesome.

I do now hava a severe earworm, seamlessly intermixing all versions of this song. A plan for retaliation is already in the works.

Some minor feedback and suggestions off the top of my head:
* the tent outside might benefit from some heating and, apparently, deeper foundations ;)
* If possible, the second screen at the bar could be set up about 1 meter higher. It would make it easier to follow compos also from the tables at the far end of the bar.
* what dipswitch said about the food. Having some snacks (chocolate or protein bars, some crisps etc) at the info desk or bar would already go a long way, but a food truck would be even more awesome. (Especially since the bar only served two kinds of pizzas this year)
* the mate light compo could maybe be organized similar to the other ”exhibition style” compos (fast painting, lego), e.g. just run the entries on a loop on the mate light display on saturday evening, interspersed with numbers indicating which entry is which, instead of using precious compo block time for these. This way everyone can check the entries at their leisure while getting a beer.
* maybe move wild compo to friday next year?
Other than these minor things, deadline was again an awesome party. Definitely going to book tram tickets for next year as well.

oh, and another small thing: is there any rationale behind allowing one individual to have multiple entries in one compo? that is rather unusual, and in compos where there are a lot entries, not really fair, i would say...

Maybe there's a solution here...
I see both points of dipswitch here. Which I also considered to post.
- decent pizza is great, but asding a ramen option would also not that hard to implement. the future scener might love ya!
- seeing the crowd drop at start of dispwitch set was kind of hard. it was because of very early morning time
Not sure about priorities here, but this is a feedback.

Regarding more food options have a self-reliant pro tip: there are delivery services that easily bring food of your own choosing to ORWO and track your delivery. No need to starve, or speak German - just use an app :)
