I am shocked and don't want to believe it. Yet another one of the best, warmest, greatest people from our Demoscene family has been torn from life far too soon and far too quickly. My deepest condolences to Madame, the children and the family. There is still so much one would like to say and yet nothing can change it. It really isn't fair.

It's a very, very sad news. Condolences to the family and all of you his friends.

We didn't know each other very well, so my story is rather short: He gave me a kazoo at Evoke a couple of years ago and I kept it for quite a long time.



I read it and it kinda sounded familiar and then I realised that I had been pretty close to the fork lift when this happened (I just didn't remember who drove it) and a few moments later I was surprised by the solution and how fast it was implemented.

Also, the stuff he could do up there near the roof was both scary and impressive.

Rest in peace, mbb.

This is incredibly sad and unfair.

I tried to compete in a compo once that he organized, with a very questionable entry quality-wise, and he just asked me "does it really need to be five minutes?" But in the most friendly and funny way, and he played it anyways in the end.

Thank you, mbb, for showing it, and you were right - it should have been 1:30 max.

So unreal and unfair. One of the first demosceners I met and you just felt like a part of a family. From Summer in France to tUM, there were a lot of great parties. MBB also helped me to create the first art prints and to decorate a psychedelic blacklight passage room at Breakpoint 08, Digital Garden. You will be dearly missed. Precious times. Sending hugs to his family and friends.

I am still shocked and in disbelief. He was such a kind and "weird in the best way" presence to be around and making him laugh was always such a pleasure. My love and condolences to all his loved ones, my thoughts are with you 🖤

We would like to invite you to say goodbye to mbb next week together with his family.

The funeral will take place next week Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 10:00 am at the cemetery in Hemsbach (Goethestr. 20, 69502 Hemsbach). There will be no service or ceremony, just a simple urn burial.

Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to spend some time together and share memories. We will meet in the B-Bistro next to the "Brennessel" arthouse cinema (Landstr. 35, 69502 Hemsbach). Some of you will recognize the place, mbb lived in this house for many years.

In order to organize drinks and snacks, it would be helpful to know approximately how many people will be coming. We would also be very happy to receive funny, nice or silly photos of mbb that we can show after the funeral.

When I heard the news I was stunned. I knew he was in the hospital, but wrote the day before jokingly in an orga chat, so it was a real shock. It hit hard.
As an organizer of a good amount of parties you get to know the capabilities and personalities of your fellow organizers quite well and he was part of the backbone of many parties, one person that you could absolutely depend upon.
I will miss his smile, his relaxed attitude, his craftmanship, his humor and most of all his huge heart.
I can only offer my condolences to his family and keep him in my memory right next to the other sceners that left us.
While packing stuff for moving apartments I stumbled upon this memorabilia that I want to share - he created the stamp with his hands and handed them out at a Revision party.

There should be a cocktail named after mbb, and it should be called Magic Mega Boy. There is also a secret variant of it that you get when ordering a Magic Banana Bolem, but nobody knows that, while everyone knows that there is absolutely no banana in it. The real clue is to tell the barkeep to "ladder it up", then it will either contain more ice, or more alcohol.

The world is a bleaker place without you.

I can't, either (fully grasp). Yesterday it hit me hard out of the blue when I was doing slides and tech support for a reading event, and was kindly asked not to shout SCHEISSE during the presentation :(

I'm still shocked and in disbelief. Such a wonderful creative person and free soul. You will be missed dearly and will always have a special place in our hearts and our memories.

What a bloody disaster, can I get off this ride now please? RIP mbb, your time hadn't come yet and it's a fucking shame. Massive props for everything you did for the scene and your loved ones, and heartfelt condolences to the ones you leave behind.

He was one of the few good ones and I respected him a lot. My thoughts are with his family.

If you are planning to come to the funeral ceremony, we will meet about 20 minutes before 10:00 a.m. in front of the funeral hall. It is planned to bury the urn at 10:00 a.m. sharp. (German bureaucracy at its best!)

Is there a recommended physical address where people who cannot attend can send cards/letters/etc? (Reply via private channels is fine of course)

The funeral has been the nicest one could have given the circumstances. It was overwhelming how massively his friends from the scene had shown presence to give a farewell - a state of constant overcrowding (in a good way).

Thank you everyone who had been there, and also thank you to those who couldn't, but were present in their thoughts.
